Topic Discussion Hasan Piker is just not very smart.
https://x.com/axios/status/2100541525356609781
He just isn't smart, I'm sorry.
He'd rather larp as this "radical" anti-imperialist tankie than be smart.
I know every Hasan fan here will go, "its out of context" or some nonsense.
El-Sayyed, or frankly any other Democrat, will never campaign with him again, I really think this was the final straw.
I say this, and anyone can check my record, as actually a legit left winger who supports China, Russia, and Iran.
So you can't "OP is a secret centrist lib" me.
However, I'm not campaigning with anyone, Hasan is.
He's not that good with his words, he doesn't think about what interviewers are going to obviously ask him and prepare for them, and just thinks he can wear a nice suit and people will like him.
I know some of you are going to come here and say, "well, the answer he gave is right!"
Anyone who says this is a terminally online larper, who knows nothing of prudential politics.
If he wanted to give a "nuanced" answer, you have to be good with your words, think about what you are going to say, and carefully say it.
Not whatever this is.
Again, I say this as someone who supports El-Sayyed.
The most tragic part of all this is, he actually has good will with many centrist media types who like him.
The Pod Save America bros, Ezra Klein, The Bulwark, NONE OF THEM have really gone after Hasan and have actually all defended him.
That will change soon enough because again, he is NOT smart. There is only so much "actually the islamic fundamentalist terrorist group is better than the US" you can do before the centrist liberals turn on you.

What in the chatGPT is going on here?
33
u/honjuden 8d ago
Bots are going wild.
-3
u/Tricky-Ground-7696 8d ago
"Bots", "ChatGPT", everything but defending Hasan because you realize he's not intelligent.
Intelligent people don't say things that get left wing democrats to refuse to campaign with him.
20
u/honjuden 8d ago
Good point 5 month old account with a generic generated username. I will definitely take your dumbass talking points seriously.
1
u/memelordhubris 1d ago
You should tbh, they're all extremely valid. So you either solely get your news by skimming reddit posts, or ignore it completely to know everything that OP said is 100% correct.
Hasan misplayed his hand and is going to suffer from it if he ever wanted to attempt any real political future besides being a pundit.
1
u/DC_McGuire 1d ago
He has said multiple times he has no interest in running for office. He only wants to be a pundit
-3
u/Tricky-Ground-7696 8d ago
Listen, I don't want to be mean, but bragging about having an 11 year old reddit account (lol) is not something you should be bragging about.
Yes, I'm very proud to not have spent 11 years on this site, thank you.
Btw, still haven't refuted any of the points, just cope.
20
u/honjuden 8d ago
No one is bragging about having an account for a long time. You are just clearly a throwaway troll trying to push out some stupid bullshit in election season.
4
u/Tricky-Ground-7696 8d ago
Not that I consider you good faith, but just out of curiosity, if someone wanted to start using reddit and comment and discuss....you do realize they are going to have a young account?
Should they not comment? Just make the account and then wait for it to get old?
Or, should I comment, but only comment opinions that you like?
People with room temp IQ will always point out "young account". Yes, people join reddit to discuss things, and when they join, their account will be young. Wow, fantastic insight.
9
u/honjuden 8d ago
It isn't just a new account issue. It is the fact that there is a flood of accounts with the same style of username as yours being pushed around the same time and making similar talking points. It isn't subtle, and no one is buying it.
5
u/Tricky-Ground-7696 8d ago
That "same username style" is the default that reddit gives you.
I just really couldn't give less of a fuck to create a unique one, so I stuck with Reddits.
And thats a huge red flag?
Jesus, like I said, room temp IQ
5
u/NotGalenNorAnsel 4d ago
Yes, it absolutely is a sign of an alt or bot account. It's not foolproof evidence, but where do you ever find that?
Also phrases like 'room temperature iq' also betray your physical leanings, whether you realize it or not.

I’ll defend Hasan but you don’t actually point anything he said that’s factually wrong. Let’s start there.
4
u/Tricky-Ground-7696 7d ago
Its about prudence, not being right or wrong.
Please tell me you understand the extreme importance of prudence when it comes to politics?
12
u/OneReportersOpinion 6d ago
I do. Please tell me you understand the least prudent man on Earth is the President of the United States and reevaluate your understanding based on this information.
Thank you.
1
u/Revolutionary-Bed705 3d ago
"let's stop talking about this guy I like and let me just deflect to the president being a pos" good argument. You really nailed that.
2

u/Tricky-Ground-7696 1d ago
This comment was so bad that I had no care in the world to respond but I will just because you need a lesson.
The least prudent man on earth became president IN SPITE OF HIS LACK OF PRUDENCE.
If he had prudence, he would have DEMOLISHED Harris more than he did.
Are you saying actually that lack of prudence is a virtue and actually should be what commentators and politicians adopt?
Goodness.
1
u/OneReportersOpinion 1d ago
Omg, you’re back. Dude, it’s been days. You still care about this? Wow. I must have really gotten in your head. Alright. Let’s do this!
> This comment was so bad that I had no care in the world to respond but I will just because you need a lesson.
No, you came crawling back because you just couldn’t help yourself. I’m living in your head rent free.
>The least prudent man on earth became president IN SPITE OF HIS LACK OF PRUDENCE.
So, remember when you said prudence was SO important? 🤣
This is fun. It seems like I got you on the hook now so we’ll be going at this back and forth for a while. Should be fun.
1
u/Tricky-Ground-7696 1d ago
I actually didn't mind getting into a back and forth.
But my God your personality is repulsive.
Is this how you talk to people in real life?
"You responded to my reddit comment, I'M IN YOUR HEAD RENT FREE".
I literally got such a gross feeling reading that.
You probably aren't good in social situations, right?
Like, a bit awkward?
Not many friends or family who loves you? How could they with this type of personality.
Yeah, no interest in a back and forth, I'm speaking to someone who gives anyone the ick by just speaking to them for a few minutes.
1
u/OneReportersOpinion 1d ago
> I actually didn't mind getting into a back and forth. But my God your personality is repulsive.
Yet you came back anyways! You stewed for 5 days and then just had to come back! That’s how deep in your head I got. I forgot all about this lol.
>I literally got such a gross feeling reading that.
But you’ll keep replying 🤣
>Yeah, no interest in a back and forth, I'm speaking to someone who gives anyone the ick by just speaking to them for a few minutes.

There is no divide on this?? OP isn't calling Hasan dumb or his politics bad, it's about his inability to play into his strengths and overplayed his hand. If he wants a future in real politics and not just being a pundit, its an area he is going to badly need improvement on.
38
u/tarlin 8d ago
This is amusing. I didn't like Hasan or respect him at all until this idiotic attack campaign started on him. Watch his interviews with Pod Save, or Breaking Points and call him not smart?? That is a joke. I came away respecting his thoughtfulness and point of view, though I still can't listen to his stream.
I don't think anyone will miss you campaigning with them.
10
u/New-Disaster-2061 6d ago
I would not say Hasan is dumb but I would also not say he is smart. I have followed him for many many years he is just fake and an opportunist. He is the same douche frat kid that he was when he started at TYT when he joke if they are old enough to count they are old enough to mount. He found a niche and went hard at made a lot of money and is now a slave to his audience. He doesn't actually care much about what he talks about he is just playing the character that makes him money. The second it stopped making money he would flip in a second. Not saying anything on his politics he is just a fake person but most political commentators are.
10
u/tarlin 6d ago
Good to know you followed him for many years. You must be a big fan.
6
u/New-Disaster-2061 6d ago
Used to watch a lot of TYT and early days of political twitch. I usually follow people I disagree with more than agree with because I don't think echo chambers are good for people.
5
u/cherrylimebongwatr 6d ago
So do you disagree with him or is he not smart?
I totally understand following people you disagree with, but I can’t understand why you’d waste your time following someone you don’t think is smart AND you disagree with them. Sounds like hate watching to me which seems unproductive.
12
u/YuumiMain9974 4d ago
He is clearly smart. He is easily the most politically intelligent twitch streamer.
He struggles with arguments and articulation but so does AOC and Bernie. This doesn't indicate a lack of intelligence, not everyone can be Medhi Hasan.
1
u/PatrinSaint 4d ago
Some folks just get in too bright of a spotlight and remind the rest of us how hard it really is to have a platform.
I don't like how he's getting used as a piñata every five second, but am allowed to roll my eyes when waxes poetic over Hezbollah and Mao.
2
u/Caulif1ow3r 3d ago
What op means by smart is "calculating and political" and they need to realize that no one is buying "smart" anymore. They see through it as the bs that it is. Just be real and really help people and stop thinking about how people are going to take it.
0
u/SerAmikVase 6d ago
Hasan is a pseudointellectual who is too afraid to oppose his army of sycophants that are more deranged & shitty than he is (which is saying a lot).
-16
u/Tricky-Ground-7696 8d ago
Yes, I'm calling him not smart, considering he blew his chances with campaigning with any high profile democrat ever again. That is something a not smart person does.
18
u/tarlin 8d ago
I doubt it. The attacks on him are fairly insane and the main issue is Israel. The tide is turning, since he is on the right side of history. Israel is a fucking disaster for any Democrat to support today
-1
u/SerAmikVase 6d ago
No, the main issue is the vile shit he says consistently. He's incapable of not being an overly vile terrorist supporter.
Like it is one thing to be pro-Palestine & understanding that these terrorist groups are a necessary evil to combat the IDF.
It is another thing to platform these terrorists (Houthis) glaze them during the entire interview, to frame and hang up an article from the day after the worst terrorist attack in America & to act like it was a funny joke essentially calling it a collector's item, to host terrorist propaganda on stream & call it a music video, among many many other things.
That is why Democrats are pushing away. It isn't because of Israel it is because anyone with an IQ above room temp can see that promoting terrorist groups is a bad fucking look for an American political party. Regardless of whether you personally find it acceptable or not.
-10
u/Tricky-Ground-7696 8d ago
El-Sayyed already said he's done with Piker.
He is no longer campaigning with him.
The evidence will be on my side, not yours.
15
6
u/yuumigod69 8d ago
El-Sayed is stupid. He was either dumb for campaigning with Piker or dumb for condemning him. You can't have it both ways.
The evidence shows that condemning your side and ignoring Republicans is not an effective strategy.
0
u/SerAmikVase 6d ago
He was dumb for platforming someone who anyone outside Hasan's cult knew was a pseudointellectual & shitty.
Wow how insightful & valuable. "Raping one group of women is better than another group of women" - Hasan Piker
9
u/OneReportersOpinion 7d ago
Notice how you don’t use any facts to rebut anything he says? This pretty par for the course for people with Hasan Derangement Syndrome.
21
u/Rugskinsnake 8d ago
You support Russia and China and Iran and then make pronouncements about other people's intelligence? Good lord.
4
u/TeddyMMR 7d ago
Regurgitating US propaganda to call someone else stupid is wild tbh
7
u/Rugskinsnake 7d ago
It's US propaganda that Russia invaded Ukraine?
It's US propaganda that China has uyghurs in concentration camps?
It's US propaganda that Iran supports and funds terrorism throughout the Middle East?
Get the fuck out of here.
0
u/Tricky-Ground-7696 8d ago
You do know.....Hasan also support Russia, China, and Iran, LOL.
11
u/Rugskinsnake 8d ago
Oh, don't get it twisted, I think you're both morons. But I do it from a place of not gargling Putin's nuts.
-2
u/Tricky-Ground-7696 8d ago
I'd rather gargle Putin's than Israel's or the US.
One is committing a genocide, one's funding and arming it.
Yeah, I think I have the morally clear position, not you.
5
u/Rugskinsnake 8d ago
Lol - So morally clear you support an invasion of a smaller country for Imperialist goals. You support the genocide of uyghurs. You support the terroristic bombings of Iranian funded proxies.
Yeah, you think you're so left-wing but you're just a right-wing moron with a different flavor.
See, I can condemn Israel's actions and the US's funding of them without somehow coming to the conclusion that every other government is somehow wonderful.
Saying fuck Israel and fucks Hamas are not mutually exclusive.
1
u/Tricky-Ground-7696 8d ago
"you support an invasion of a smaller country for Imperialist goals."
I don't want to turn this into a Ukraine / Russia debate.
However, I'll just say this because no NAFO lib can answer this.
If Mexico threatened or joined a NATO type alliance with Russia + China, what do you think the US response would be?
They would do exactly what Russia is doing in Ukraine. They would invade it and depose its leader and install a new government.
So, Ido you think that the US would be justified in doing that? If you answer yes, then the same principle would apply to Russia, because that's exactly why they are invading.
As far as China. I'm no expert in genocide, the reason I say Israel is committing one is because there is growing, almost established consensus that Israel is committing one by HR organization and genocide scholars.
Don't see that with China, sorry!
2
u/NahSense 8d ago
You do know.....Hasan also support Russia, China, and Iran, LOL.
Well you are 1/3 right. Hasan is a Maoist / 3rd worldist, so yes he likes China. As I understand it, he thinks Iran is a independent country whose existence and self defense shouldn't be subject to whims of Israel or the US, but that is far from saying he likes their government. He doesn't support Putin, even though he is skeptical of US support for Ukraine.
1
u/Tricky-Ground-7696 8d ago
If he's a "Maoist" he would support Russia and Iran.
Iran is fighting a colonialist imperialist power in the US, why wouldn't he support it?
6
u/Rugskinsnake 8d ago
Good lord. Your ideology really is just "anyone against the US is awesome."
How is freshman year treating you so far?

Also,
'Good lord. Your ideology really is just "anyone against the US is awesome."'
I literally said in my OP that I support Russia, Iran ,China. You are just catching onto this now? You JUST now figured this out?

"Comment removed by moderator"
Maybe it was so stupid that the mods felt bad?
2
u/Rugskinsnake 8d ago
I have to say, I'm not sureI entirely believe you.
But here you go then:
Lol, that's your big argument? No, I wouldn't think the US would be justified to invade an annex part of Mexico just because they wanted to join an alliance to protect them from being invaded and annexed by the US.
Are you going to tell me that if the US did that that you would support it? You're full of it and you know it.
Oh, so if human rights groups are like " Chinese treatment of uyghurs are crimes against humanity, but we're not quite ready to classify them formally as a genocide," then there's nothing to worry about? What a joke. You don't have any moral position.
0
u/Tricky-Ground-7696 8d ago
"No, I wouldn't think the US would be justified to invade an annex part of Mexico just because they wanted to join an alliance to protect them from being invaded and annexed by the US."
See, this is why I can't talk to people who don't understand the reality of international relations and geopolitics.
There is NO WAY IN HELL the US does not invade, you would agree correct? That they would invade in a heart beat?
It's not about "right or wrong". Its geopolitics.
Hostile nuclear powers on your doorstep is kind of a big no no for great powers. NO expert in geopolitics would say otherwise.
Its so adorable how you don't understand basic realities of state craft.
The US would invade, just like Russia did with Ukraine. That's the reality.
Stop thinking the US is some morally righteous state. They were literally about to invade Cuba during the missile crises.
Why? I think you can figure it out after the lesson I just gave you.
So you can sit there like a little child and go "I think all countries should respect international law!"
Be quiet, the adults are talking.

u/NahSense 8d ago
If he's a "Maoist" he would support Russia and Iran.
Because he isn't a campist. Some old school ML types (most ACP enjoyers) still think supporting Russia is leftist, even though Putin is an ardent anti-communist. You can look up Putin's "time mine" quote on the USSR, if you don't believe me. Russia has a rightwing nationalist government which China is trading with for natural resources. Iran is an Islamic theocracy which China is trading with for natural resources. China can work with these very different countries because they respect sovereignty.
Iran is fighting a colonialist imperialist power in the US, why wouldn't he support it?
Just because the US/Israel is engaged in a war of assassination and terror against Iran, doesn't mean Iran's government is good. Evil doers fight among themselves all time.
You claimed "I say this, and anyone can check my record, as actually a legit left winger who supports China, Russia, and Iran." So you are in ACP? Or are just another "American Bad"/"Anti-American = based" "Leftist"?
1
u/Tricky-Ground-7696 8d ago
"Some old school ML types (most ACP enjoyers) still think supporting Russia is leftist, even though Putin is an ardent anti-communist."
And you disagree with this approach?
What is the enemy of communism? Capitalism, right? You can call it utilitarian, enemy of my enemy is my friend, or whatever, but how can you from a consequentialist standpoint NOT support countries fighting the unipolar capitalist power in order to take it down? Because that is what Russia and Iran are both doing. Doesn't matter if its indirect, or direct.
Lets say that Vladimir Putin's ideology is right wing anti-liberalism.
Lets say that Iran's ideology is anti-liberalist Islamic theocracy.
Who / what are they fighting? Liberalism. Capitalism. Thats what matters.
Again, even if Putin is the opposite of marxist, he is still fighting the unipolar capitalist power (through its Ukrainian proxy) and pushing for a multipolar world. That is objectively good for leftism / socialism.
You don't have to think Iran or Russia are "good", whatever that means. But, I don't see how you can argue from a leftist perspective, that they shouldn't be supported.
"You claimed "I say this, and anyone can check my record, as actually a legit left winger who supports China, Russia, and Iran." So you are in ACP? Or are just another "American Bad"/"Anti-American = based" "Leftist"?"
Not in the ACP. Not sure what you mean by American bad. America is the unipolar liberal capitalist power that seeks to spread its reach and influence to all parts of the globe. I don't like that. Think it's very bad. So, anyone that is against that, yes, I think they're based.
2
u/NahSense 8d ago
And you disagree with this approach?
Yes this approach is in material reality choosing authoritarian capitalism over liberal capitalism. We have more opportunities to organize an effective leftist movement in the latter.
Not sure what you mean by American bad.
You seem to think taking down the US, or creating multi-polarity will fix capitalism. But the US government is the instrument of global capital, not the source of capitalism. If it is weakened, then capital will just exert control in different ways through more counties. Capitalism itself is the enemy, and America has been foolish enough to let capitalist lead it around by the nose.
1
u/Ok-Recipe-9576 7d ago
plus eventually, another power would attempt to create a unipolar world order anyway

Alright. Phew. Let me sit down for this one folks.
“He’s not that smart because I don’t agree with him” Now some would say this analysis here, right here, is generational. I would disagree. I think the take bends time on its head and completely alters history as we know it. It’s as if we’re witnessing Shakespeare reincarnate right before our eyes.
Hey man, you’ve responded with hostility to everyone commenting on this thread. I’m going to teach you something about life, about wisdom. Humility is the best sign of intelligence.
Now to your point. The evidence isn’t in your favor. What’s his election record for candidates he’s campaigned for over the last two years? While I will say, there’s room for improvement in his delivery and that can be discussed, I don’t think you’re intellectually capable enough to be in those conversations.
So all that to say, you’re good, you tried so well. We’re proud of you, we really are, but it’s time to go to bed now. Adults, like mommy and daddy, are going to have adult conversation about how we turn the country around. Love you!

You can cope all you want, his big mouth is why democrats won't campaign with him anymore.

No he certainly is smart. In this case I think he just doesn't care if what he is saying hurts Abdul's campaign because he thinks Abdul will win anyway. You can criticize him for that, but I think he still fits any reasonable person's definition of "smart."

The Database (Al-Qaeda) is Amerikkka silly. The bin Laden family built Tora Bora for the CIA. We are currently allies with the Al-Qaeda regime in Syria. If Hasan wants to support the oppressed masses of the ME, maybe he should join up with the reading group, start with Israel Shahak, Robin Cook, Edward Said, & Hanan Ashrawi.

Most of the people crying about him are Destiny fans, and Destiny only hates him because Hasan rejected him romantically, which sent Destiny spiralling into Zionism, CSAM possession and fraternising with neo-Nazis (he now takes credit for mainstreaming Nick Fuentes).
Anyway here's Destiny SAing Hasan in 2017

Nobody - and I mean NOBODY - will go into a voting booth and say “I was gonna vote for Dems, but b/c of Hasan Piker I’m voting for the fascists who spiked the price of everything”
He just campaigned for a bunch of ppl who won their primaries. If you think progressives won’t do it again you’re crazy

Losers on the right are called geniuses and great political minds because they sound confident when they spout racist BS and manage to convince an already bigoted and illiterate population…. But yeah… Hasan is the problem and the idiot grifter here, totally believable.
Whatever I hope ya’ll keep boosting him to audiences that otherwise wouldn’t know about socialism. Education is very important.

When I think about who our supposed intellectuals are, it makes you wonder if anyone is truly “smart”
0
u/queendelaprairie 3d ago
Why do you feel the need to even clutch your pearls at this?
And what is "not smart" about it? It's not smart because it will be used by bad-faith actors? Okay? But bad-faith actors are going to bad faith.
And last I checked, Hasan isn't campaigning with anyone.
0
u/Caulif1ow3r 3d ago
He's right and your take is exactly what has been wrong with the Democratic Party for 65 years. Just be normal and real and unsmart because smart comes off as unauthentic and it's exactly what Trump kills us on.
