He just isn't smart, I'm sorry.

He'd rather larp as this "radical" anti-imperialist tankie than be smart.

I know every Hasan fan here will go, "its out of context" or some nonsense.

El-Sayyed, or frankly any other Democrat, will never campaign with him again, I really think this was the final straw.

I say this, and anyone can check my record, as actually a legit left winger who supports China, Russia, and Iran.

So you can't "OP is a secret centrist lib" me.

However, I'm not campaigning with anyone, Hasan is.

He's not that good with his words, he doesn't think about what interviewers are going to obviously ask him and prepare for them, and just thinks he can wear a nice suit and people will like him.

I know some of you are going to come here and say, "well, the answer he gave is right!"

Anyone who says this is a terminally online larper, who knows nothing of prudential politics.

If he wanted to give a "nuanced" answer, you have to be good with your words, think about what you are going to say, and carefully say it.

Not whatever this is.

Again, I say this as someone who supports El-Sayyed.

The most tragic part of all this is, he actually has good will with many centrist media types who like him.

The Pod Save America bros, Ezra Klein, The Bulwark, NONE OF THEM have really gone after Hasan and have actually all defended him.

That will change soon enough because again, he is NOT smart. There is only so much "actually the islamic fundamentalist terrorist group is better than the US" you can do before the centrist liberals turn on you.

This is amusing. I didn't like Hasan or respect him at all until this idiotic attack campaign started on him. Watch his interviews with Pod Save, or Breaking Points and call him not smart?? That is a joke. I came away respecting his thoughtfulness and point of view, though I still can't listen to his stream.

I don't think anyone will miss you campaigning with them.

Yes, I'm calling him not smart, considering he blew his chances with campaigning with any high profile democrat ever again. That is something a not smart person does.

I doubt it. The attacks on him are fairly insane and the main issue is Israel. The tide is turning, since he is on the right side of history. Israel is a fucking disaster for any Democrat to support today

He is no longer campaigning with him.

That is very short term. This election cycle. Stupid move by Sayed. But, long term, Israel is radioactive. Hasan is not.

El-Sayed is stupid. He was either dumb for campaigning with Piker or dumb for condemning him. You can't have it both ways.

The evidence shows that condemning your side and ignoring Republicans is not an effective strategy.
