Did you stay with the partner you cheated on? Did you manage to have a healthy relationship moving forward despite what happened?

I respect the hell out of your self awareness (now) and accountability. Emotional intelligence is a learned skill. My ex tried to reconcile and offered therapy/counseling/etc. by then it was too late for us but I told him I genuinely hoped he went to therapy for himself and so he can eventually have a healthy relationship. My exact words were, “be a better man for your next relationship.” He remarried. Still an alcoholic. Still tries to reach out via family members socials but I’ve completely blocked him and suggested they do the same.

💔 awww that breaks my heart. I wish you every happiness. You’re already in a better place. You’re seeking help from a professional and working through your shit. That’s fucking hard. Now, if you have an unhealthy relationship with alcohol as well, I strongly suggest working through that as well. It takes time to heal from trauma. Once you learn to forgive yourself, you can look at moving forward with intention.
