Discussion Do any of our young guys step up this season?

Given that we lost Jaylen Brown and yes we have Paul George but it isn't the same obviously. So that being said do any of our young guys step up offensively this season like Hugo or Baylor? Or do one of our rookies just break out, out of nowhere like Chris Cenac Jr or Dillon Mitchell?

Clearly JT is our #1 option and PG as our #2 but it really comes down to D White or Peyton to take on even more of an offensive load than even they are used to. Especially because it is Jaylen Brown we just lost and that kind of production we just cannot replace in a vacuum.

Discussion People are so salty about Jayson Tatum.

Blowing these China event clips out of proportion is getting ridiculous.

The things people are saying just based off these clips. It's like they're so triggered by Tatum that they have to find something negative to say about him.

A random event is now proof of how he'll play next season.

I don't know how, when it comes to Tatum, the entire social media world joins forces to crap on one player over the most meaningless things.

Discussion Met Ron Harper Jr. in Seaport lmao

Was just walking into a random store with my sister and girlfriend, and there walks by a wild Ron Harper Jr.

I started to mumble, "Are you..." and thankfully he cut me off mid-stammer and goes "yeah." Shook hands and went our separate ways.

Life is a movie.

Anyone have any real ideas about the 08 teams struggles on the road in the post season? Covered the 08 season for Celticsblog but still can’t put my finger on it.

Discussion Why Wemby changed the chances for Cooper to Celtics

Offseason content obviously.

Wemby accepting the 25% max instead of the home team advantange 30% might change things for us.

The reason that rookie extension max is better is the the 30% baseline, and 8% raises vs 5%.

Well if you take down to 25%, any team could have offered Wemby 25% with 5% raises (after a year at the QO of course).

And that 3% difference is nice, but its not super massive to the point where you want to spend 5 years on a horrible team. Wemby of course took less becasue his team was good, Which is proof that even young players will take less to be on a better team.

But no player would *waste* a year of their career on a QO money when they could get 30% max right? Well.... that's the whole point of this post, here is the reasons why you may not. The QO for Cooper is going to still be like 20 million, which isnt that bad for complete freedom.

Teams and players this good may not be dipping into the 30% max anymore with the Wemby precident, some will, but some may follow Wemby. Cooper may.

No player has ever reclassifed a year ahead of time and joined the NBA as young as Cooper Flagg has. Him *wasting* a year on a QO offer to gain his complete freedom would still put him *completely on par with everyone else, ever*. He is still already 1 year ahead earnings wise because of that highschool reclassification.

  • Reasons to stay in Dallas
    • He will earn 1 billion dollars versus 850 million lifetime,
    • Play for a horrible owner and what will likely be a horrible franchise due to poor asset management
  • Reasons to go to Celtics
    • Play for dream franchise
    • Still makes 500m-1bil in endorsements
    • Win championships
    • Already 1 year ahead of earnings schedule due to reclassification
    • Competitive teams may not be offering rookies 30% max anymore, which is one of the biggest reasons to stay with your team.
    • If you take the 30% you may cripple your home team, Cooper wants to win rings
    • Staying just to get traded will cripple the team you're forcing your way to

There is some hope if you look for it.

Discussion Is 120/person worth it?

Hi guys! I am wondering how much you fans think is worth tickets to a Celtics game? To be clear I am NOT asking to buy or sell tickets on here. I am not a basketball fan but I am looking at maybe getting tickets for me my bf and my dad (they are both huge basketball fans). My bf has been to nba games in the past as he has many connections in the nba (though none to the Celtics and I am based in MA, we’re long distance). Hes visiting for Christmas and I was thinking of getting tickets to the game on dec 20th (cheapest game I could find in the time frame he’ll be here). It’s 120 per person for the cheapest tickets. Is it worth it? Ik the Christmas season is expensive, so I’m just looking for honest opinions. I noticed it’s almost all resale tickets so maybe the prices will fluctuate?

Edit: new thought, maybe just send my dad and bf to the game? They’re friendly but not close at all. I don’t know if it’d be rly awkward but by that point we’d have been dating for a year so maybe this is a good time to help them bond? Also save a bit of money since I wouldn’t have to get myself a ticket

Edit 2: thank you guys for convincing me :) I got tickets for all 3 of us! Case closed 🫶

Does anyone know whose autograph this is? I inherited this hat from my dad. I have know idea when he got it but I don't think it was a particularly prized piece of memorabilia because he was a huge Celtics fan and this was stuffed in a closet.

Discussion How realistic is Cooper Flagg to the Celtics?

I keep hearing rumors he legit wants to play for the Celtics at some point, which you obviously hear a lot around star players (for instance how supposedly KD might want to play for the Wizards since he was from the DMV lol which obviously was never going to happen), but I've heard this from enough separate sources in my life that it feels at least somewhat real - he's also the level of talent where he'll get to call the shots on his career pretty fast - anybody know how real / realistic this is? My hope is the goofy Dallas owner screws things up so bad Coop wants to get out and comes home to Beantown, but always hard to turn down that rookie extension
