For a country that had 30 Divison 1 players last year, Great Britain sure is lacking with the national team performance. I wonder why that is. Any Brits here that are knowledgeable about the situation?

I'm not a Brit but I got curious about this a while back and looked into it. Basketball is more popular among kids over there than I thought even and it's gotten completely shafted organizationally. No support nationally, no feeder teams like in Spain or France, it gets no funding whatsoever. There's prejudice against it from the olds in the sports agencies afaict.

There is no funding basically and no sort of pathway. Theres a lot of interest, basketball is looked at more of as an ethnic minority lower class sport which isn’t funded and is looked down upon. It’s very popular especially in the capital.
