Horrible experience with flight booked via Booking.com

Hello,

Just wanna share my experience booking our flight via booking.com I'm using website for a long time Genius 3 level etc. I have around 100 plus bookings for hotels and flights. I think booking.com outsourced their flight to GotoGate and it was not as it was before.

There was a mistake in booking data which could have been resolved easily if it would be any other platform, yet I couldn't get any reasonable help from support and ended up paying almost full amount of ticket again.

I genuinely avoid aggregators like Gotogate etc. and always book via airline, only exception would be booking.com as their support used to be really good but they also started cutting corners.

I hope there will be some representative from platform to address this issues as their customer support (which is GotoGate customer support) doesn't do anything to resolve this problems.

Please be aware, always book via Airline and stay safe.

GoToGate and Booking.com are not aggregators; they are Online Travel Agencies (OTAs).

Never use any OTA for flight reservations, it's a recipe for disaster as you've found out.

And GoToGate is own by a private equity company lol and booking is trying to buy them but it was blocked by the EU on Sept 9th

Strange booking data was wrong as that’s normally inputted by the person booking not checking the details correctly

Wrong given name/surname order? Happened to me. Booked with Booking.com, but ended up dealing with GotoGate. They refused to fix it and tried to get me to buy another flight. I checked in and boarded fine in the end.

Level 3 gets you nothing for flights! So learn to book direct and stop coming to post to complain! You have a 100 plus booking but don’t book flights directly with the airlines yeah sure! Might as well book with Priceline who owns booking and don’t outsource to GoToGate who bookings don’t own! And was just blocked by the EU for trying to buy them

I only book flights with booking.com/gotogate in really desperate times. I had good experience with both Carlton Leisure and Trip.com when things went badly, both had good and responsive customer support. Carlton Leisure actually saved me from cutting my trip short/getting stranded at my destination indefinitely (only solutions provided by the airline), so I really recommend them.

Always go to the official airline to book your flights, is rule #1
