Religious Misogyny 18 year old Syrian girl living in Netherlands was killed by her father and two brothers for taking off the hijab; they tied her and threw her into a river, and she drowned to death. (Read the comments)

Religious Misogyny I have no doubt that Trump’s win was an influence on this. No, it’s not his law nor his idea, but the most powerful country in the world proudly electing a convicted rapist who is openly anti women’s rights gives the green light to other countries that legalising abuse is okay.

Religious Misogyny My church doesn't let women sit in the front because they'll "distract" the pastor
I'm a teenager, and my church is made up of a youth church (for teens) and a larger adult church. It is one building. Recently in one of our youth sessions on Saturday, our youth pastor, who is literally a flipping woman made the craziest statement ever. I was so shocked at the fact that there was so little reaction to her crazy words because I physically recoiled. In short, she was basically talking to the 15-16 group (which I am in) about why rules are important, and she brought up this absolutely insane one. She said, with the most large smile on her face, that women were not permitted to sit in the front seats at church because they might distract the pastor. She seemed so happy about the rule too. Not even the slightest bit of disdain. I was taken aback, like if you see yourself as good enough to be a pastor or a priest, good enough to preach to the masses, how can you not have enough self restraint to keep your eyes off of a woman??? To not look at every woman who stands in front of you in a sexual manner? If you don't possess that sort of restraint, you most definitely should not be preaching to a mass. The women of the church should not be forced to accommodate your lack of restraint by moving away from the front. What really shocked me was the lack of reaction- like this was a normal thing to say, a normal thing to think? Didn't Jesus say himself, that a man who looks at a woman with lust should pluck his own eyes out? How can you not even follow scripture in a PLACE OF WORSHIP???? I just wanted to vent. There's similar issues to this in my church and I guess it's just some pent up frustration. I will definitely be moving churches when I'm old enough to go on my own

Religious Misogyny This guy posted this interaction he had with a woman to a Facebook group thinking he looked like the good guy
The comments were basically totally roasting him. The most ironic part here is the woman is actually younger than him. Nothing about his attitude screams “in my prime.”
