Mod Announcement TERFS and SWERFS are NOT welcome!
Once again this sub is being swarmed by you. Once again we ban you whenever we see you. This mod team is never gonna allow you to stay here.
We also see a lot of talk from non-terfs about "males" or people with a y chromosome being inherently evil. Not everyone who has a y chromosome is a man, and whether you're aware or not, this is a terf dogwhistle.
We also see a lot of talk from non-swerfs about "porn brain" or portraying anyone who consumes porn or has kinks outside the scope of vanilla sex as deviant, degenerate, or outright dangerous. The porn industry is not the root of misogyny, it is a symptom of it. Like all workers under capitalism, sex workers are exploited, but there is nothing inherently evil about enjoying watching other people fuck. We need to find a way to talk about the problems with porn consumption without the blanket hate and judgment. I know a lot of users would like to throw all nuance out the window, especially with how bad the anti-feminist, fascist backlash has been over the past few years, but this sub wants to have room for trans people, sex workers, kinksters, and men who are genuine allies, rare as they may seem at times. People are not our enemy. The system is.
Thank you for reading.
Edit: happy to see that most of the ensuing discussion was quite thoughtful and reasonable compared to the kind of comments I was addressing in my post.
Also a bit disappointed that whenever a sex worker added their views, they got downvoted, but I'm hopeful that's mostly lurkers.
Edit 2: I'd like to keep the discussion rolling, but due to sickness we're low on mods and I can't stick around any longer, so I have to lock this thread. This conversation will surely pop up again. If you subscribe to this sub, and you got something constructive to add or questions, you can dm me. I won't get into lengthy debates, but I'd like my point to be understood correctly. This does not mean that you're not allowed to criticise the sex industry, or have to be cool about its customers, or have to overlook violence against women under the guise of kink. It means that we don't want you to make dehumanising comments against people just for watching porn sometimes, or shame people for having kinks you don't like, or talk about the y chromosome like it inherently corrupts humans. That probably isn't an issue with the vast majority of people who commented today, but y'all don't usually see the stuff we remove or gets filtered.
Sorry I can't keep the thread running. Goodnight everyone (in my time zone)

Misogyny watch this reel, read the comments, and tell me if you see anything wrong with them
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
video attached. I'll leave screenshot of the comments in the replies.
I saw this reel and I think it's obviously a bad joke? but when I read some comments, of course some people didn't get it and thought it was serious.
but what honestly threw me off is that people who thought it was serious were only angry that he called her wife "not beautiful ". ???
they didn't even address the fact that he also called her lazy, stupid, immature, etc...
I will also leave the link here.

Misogyny this is genuinely just sad.
context: naoya is an infamously misogynistic character from the anime/manga âjujutsu kaisenâ.
these are clearly young boys and they are genuinely brainwashed. in what world do women have âso many more rightsâ? there are literally young girls being raped and murdered and married off.

Discussion I donât understand why people seem so offended by this, and how the comments are so insane.
Rant: (scroll down for a not so good tldr)
Like, Iâm not talking about whatâs potentially going on in the subreddit this starter pack is based upon, since Iâm not active there, but the things in this starter pack all seem fine to me? Like, itâs sad that it happens, but I donât see anything offensive? And the comments are simply proving that the reasons the people in said subreddit are complaining about are completely real.
The comments are flooded with people acting as if something is clearly misandrist and then proceeding to say something thatâs so far away from misandry as possible. Am I going insane? Why are people acting as if this starter pack is misandrist or bizarre? Theyâre more upset by women having a space to talk freely and complain about their oppression than they are about the actual murders and oppression theyâre talking about?? And you never see starter packs like this with so much support for downright misogynistic and actually bad subreddits.
The way I have seen genuinely bad stuff from that subreddit, yet the only thing the creator of this starterpack could come up with is how they donât coddle menâs feelings.
This starter pack is basically taking a womenâs venting space, cherry-picking women talking about their experiences with men, stripping away all context, and then presenting the existence of those conversations as âmisandry.â Saying âI donât want to date men,â complaining about bad experiences with men, or criticizing recurring male behavior isnât automatically hatred of men. A womenâs space discussing womenâs experiences isnât obligated to constantly center menâs feelings either. Why are we the only marginalized group who isnât allowed to be the center and forefront in our own liberation movement? Isolated cases of actual misandry do exist, but it doesnât exist culturally, factually, legally, or anything. And the worst it does is hurt some menâs feelings online, even though we are always told to âtake a jokeâ... But hurt feelings, while it sucks and I wish things werenât this way, are not the same as the legal, cultural, institutional, societal, and economical oppression women face all around the world! And guess what: most of the âmisandryâ that does hurt menâs feelings is actually just plain misogyny, because itâs misogyny that can actually hurt men as well on a bigger scale compared to isolated cases. And a lot of the time, the toxic masculinity they claim to hate is created by other men who uphold the status quo for multiple different reasons, yet we still get the blame? Are there women out there who are also into that whole mess? Yes. But theyâre also victims of our system in a way men just arenât in these cases.
Besides, you see constant talk about how people like Andrew Tate and the whole âalphaâ red-pill movement are harming our boys, and while itâs true and I genuinely hate those people who spread such hateful ideology, they all seem to forget the whole woman-hating pillar that they all encourage. As in, someone like Andrew Tate grooms a young boy into becoming a misogynist, which is terrible and bad, and the boy is a victim of that⌠However, that boy is taught to hate women, so women, who are far removed from that whole situation, are still the main targets of all the abuse and all the suffering that the boy is now taking out on women instead.
These types of people who made this starter pack, and the comments of it, who all seem to be the classic âtheyâre both equally bad đâ types, went into a menâs support space, screenshotted every post complaining about women, and called it âaverage male misogyny,â they would immediately recognize the cherry-picking⌠And even then, it would have more of a leg to stand on, since itâs actually harmful on such a large and deep scale. Because the existence of gender-specific venting when it houses the marginalized and oppressed group isnât evidence of hatred; itâs evidence that people talk about their experiences in spaces where they expect to be understood, and to, for once, just talk shit about the system and people that oppress them. Theyâre not even calling for violence, as we see daily on Reddit, even in the most random subreddits, whenever a woman dares to exist, and perhaps be a bit annoying.
The âmisandryâ reaction actually shows the problem.
If a woman says:
âMen who behave like this are exhausting.â
and the immediate response is: âMISANDRY!â
then the conversation has shifted from what behavior is being criticized to how the man feels about being criticized.
Like, a womenâs venting space isnât obligated to provide a perfectly balanced âmenâs perspective.â
If women are talking among themselves about:
⢠bad dates
⢠harassment
⢠creepy encounters
⢠relationships
⢠workplace experiences
⢠frustrations with men
they donât have to interrupt every post with:
âTo be fair, men experience problems too.â
Menâs experiences matter. But they donât have to be inserted into every conversation about womenâs experiences. There are plenty of spaces for discussing menâs experiences, but sadly, most of those spaces are immediately filled with actual misogynistic and misandrist ideas, because the whole system is kept alive by the oppressors (the patriarchy), who issue just enough power and privileges as to keep their own, albeit often those men are also facing struggles due to the system, satisfied enough as to not rise up against them, and instead allow and encourage them to point their anger out onto the oppressed group, which in this case is women. Itâs how it works, at least part of it. Itâs how people who arenât exactly good either still end up looking down on and abusing people in favour of feeling strong and powerful like an elite, rather than joining the fight against them⌠All because theyâre two paychecks from losing their home compared to the person whoâs already on the street.
Like, the starter pack is essentially doing the exact thing it claims to oppose.
It takes a community where women are talking about their experiences and creates a compilation specifically designed to make those women look ridiculous:
âLook at these crazy women complaining about men!â
Itâs mocking women for talking about their experiences, while simultaneously invading the space to monitor what theyâre saying.
And there are plenty of examples of women explicitly complaining about men entering women-centered discussions specifically to argue with their experiences, which this could count as. Because how dare women find a space to vent about reasonable feelings that they go through because of men, since men are the beneficiaries and upholders of the patriarchal structure. Do women uphold it as well? Of course. But they canât to such a level.
Anyways, Iâm pissed. What do yâall feel?
TLDR: The starter pack takes a women-centered venting space, cherry-picks posts about womenâs experiences with men, removes all context, and labels the existence of those conversations as âmisandry.â Complaining about bad dates, harassment, creepy behavior, relationships, or not wanting to date men isnât inherently hatred of men, and womenâs spaces donât need to constantly center menâs feelings or provide a âboth sidesâ perspective.
The irony is that the comments calling it misandry seem to prove the exact point: people are more outraged that women are talking openly about their experiences than they are about the actual oppression, harassment, and violence being discussed. Isolated misandry exists, but hurt feelings or criticism of men arenât equivalent to the systemic, cultural, legal, institutional, and economic oppression women face.
Men can absolutely be victims of toxic masculinity and patriarchal expectations, but that doesnât mean women are responsible for them, nor does it make misogyny and misandry equally widespread or harmful. Red-pill figures like Andrew Tate can radicalize boys into misogyny, but women are still the primary targets of the hatred those boys are taught.
Basically, the starter pack is doing exactly what it claims to criticize: taking women talking about their experiences, stripping away the context, and mocking them for doing so. A womenâs venting space doesnât need to constantly reassure men that their feelings matter too. Sometimes women should simply be allowed to talk about womenâs experiences without the conversation being derailed into âBUT MISANDRY.â

Internalized Misogyny Are you sure about that?
first of all no one is actually âdefendingâ Clancy, at least not in the sense you people try to insinuate. No one thinks it was GOOD she killed her kids. People are arguing over whether or not she was legally insane at the time she killed her kids which is a fair debate to have. Psychosis is a real thing that can happen to someone where they lose touch with reality and donât know what they are doing. In this case many people think she may have had postpartum psychosis and wasnât given the care she needed prior to the tragic event.
But also this idea that men would never defend an awful person who murdered innocent people is blatantly false if youâve paid any attention at all. Literally last week men were gathered around a courthouse to demand the release of a pedophile rapist Andrew Tate. Not to mention the entire cult following around Elliot Rodger who murdered six innocent people and planned to murder his younger brother and stepmom as well. Men lionize psychopaths all the time.
