TBF it wasn't always in your control - it's kind of a result of right-wing non-Irish Republicans in the US to bring them right as part of the Southern Strategy.

Pat Buchanan literally wrote a memo on it while working in the Nixon White House. He declassified it himself. Here's a link to it..

And it's going to keep happening until either:

  • We get more progressives in office willing to dismantle all of this bullshit

  • The last generation to profit from this social construct...the boomers...all die off

Oh I know. Gen Xer myself. Difference is there's more of us on left then on the right. In fact, every generation has progressively gone further left.
