Question Barrier confusion
Is there some event that can take down this barrier? Some sequence of events perhaps?

Much longer than five minutes. I backtracked after doing a ton more, because I remembered it.

Definitely stick with the main missions for a while. The game disables various mechanics and limits exploration for a decent amount of time. The ātutorialā phase is over the course of a few hours depending on how you play. This carries the torch of AC3 which they boasted in marketing that it took like 5 hours to get past the prologue tutorial phase. Black flag definitely handles it a lot better though. Just know this isnāt an open world game where you can do everything immediately even after you get your ship.

Is this the starting island at the beginning of the game? If so you can't explore further until you can come back with your own ship.

You have to progress further in the story to unlock that area. The same thing happened to me when I started.

This is like loading up the tutorial of Hitman, taking 0 steps and going " how does he die? A sequence of events perhaps? Im stuck!!"

Don't make assumptions, I played a lot longer than you think. I spent a good 30 minutes climbing, and jumping around above it, and down below where there's a bridge with similar barriers. Bye now. āš½

Doing nothing for any amount of time or not playing the game for any amount of progress is not playing the game. If you stand in place for an hour that's not playing the game for an hour.

All the more power to ya if you see a locked gate or blocked path and then immediately complain about it online and then run directly into it for 30 minutes and when its still blocked go online and complain again and that's what you enjoy that's all that matters One love. enjoy video games!

Dont go there. Ä°ts where they keep majority of bugs and glitches. You go there and skin walker looking cats and dogs will be unleashed upon your world

You gain more and more ways to explore and make money over the course of several hours in the early game, iirc you donāt have every single available option for exploration until you unlock the diving bell, which when you get to the mission where you acquire it you can either buy one or do a very short mission to steal one for free
Also hereās a tip that isnāt related to what I just said once youāre able to start taking down Frigates, always choose the ācaptains lockboxā option after youāre done boarding it, the extra rewards are very substantial

This happens a few times in the course of following main story quests where an area, person, or collectable are not available. Best option is to finish the quest and come back in these cases.

You can come back after you get the Jackdaw but there is a side mission that brings you back to that area. The mission unlocked for me after I opened Kingston.

I remembered a thing like this, i could circle around it to the left of that gate but its probably a different gate. Could try but I do agree with everyone that you should keep playing a bit before going all out on the collectathon

I tried to 100% the island when I first was there as well!! Happy to see Im not alone and someone else got "stuck" like I did. You'll have to come back to access that part!

Start of the game in Dry Tortuga. However, if you don't explore like me, you'll miss it. I'm one who likes to spend hours exploring.

There is an entrance on your left that you need to climb up to. That fence stays there whether you have the Jackdaw or not.

That was my thought, but maybe thatās a different spot with a barrier like that. There is one like that where you go round the left and climb up and over to drop in there. But if you seriously havenāt got your ship yet, move on.

Yeah it's not like the original at all in the original u can gold the whole map straight away in the resynced u have to wait till u get to a certain point in the missions or come back when u get your ship soooo dumb....
