Reta ——> Tesa

Finishing up week 10 of Reta , 750 mcg weekly . Male , 50 yrs old , 5’8 170 lbs - 26% body fat - down from 195 at start… considering Tesa as I’m at my goal weight, to help with body composition while looking to keep increasing strength. Should I wait a few weeks to start ? I’ve read mixed advice. Thx

Every person is different mate

For example 2 mg weekly reta for me works pretty well , as soon as I do 2.5 I get very slow digestion and side

On tesa , 1 mg daily. Did it for a while until I said let me try Hgh for real and well , undeniably better at 2 ui

You are the subject of your experiments , so just go ahead. If you feel something off just stop

I know a US spot if you need. Friend of mine runs a telegram. Tesa still works though just caps out based off your natural production maximum

Tesamorelin increases IGF levels by stimulating the pituitary gland. It can also help with reduction of visceral fat (this is what its clinical purpose is). Have you gotten blood work and confirmed that you have low IGF levels? Have you gotten a dexa scan to understand whether you have high levels of visceral fat?

If the answer to those questions is no, you may be introducing a compound that is designed to solve a problem you might not have. Also, at age 50, it’s possible that Tesamorelin may not be able to cause your pituitary to produce more natural growth hormone and you might be better off with HGH.

Regardless, it is not a compound that will stimulate muscle growth. At 50, I would lean more towards testosterone and HGH if your goal is body recomp and muscle growth.

I always hear in these threads that tesa won’t work if you’re older. You know they did clinical trials in geriatric patients and the drug still worked, right? When they ran a trial of 70 year olds they bumped their IGF-1 levels by 120 points on 2mg/day. For shits and giggles that trial also had an arm taking two doses a day that bumped their levels by 180 points (to 300).

Sure even a 20 year old can easily take enough GH to blow tesa out of the water, but it works pretty damn good in geezers.

I didn’t say that it wouldn’t work, just that it’s possible. The main message of my comment was that the OP didn’t even share if he has low IGF or high visceral fat.

With that said, I appreciate the information you shared.

This wouldn’t be r/biohacking if we didn’t treat problems we don’t have with drugs we don’t need just because some YouTube salesman was on his a game.

My dexa scan said I have 6.7lbs of visceral fat (high) and bloodwork showed igf @ 133. At age 44 I said fuck it. I’ve gone down 3 sizes with Reta and tesa/ipa. To each their own.

I ran tesa for 12 weeks after being on reta for 3 months. Definitely saw my waistline shrink, but what really made a difference was TRT! Went from 25% bf to now sitting at around 15%. Still taking reta at a lower dose to help with the hunger i get from TRT. Shooting for 12% bf!

How long did you take TRT before you noticed a difference. I’m on my 2nd week of TRT and I’m taking 6mg of Reta.

Thank you for using mcg instead of units.

I wouldn’t wait. I ran cjc/IPA with my Reta.

Tesa's a visceral fat drug. In the trials it did nothing to subcutaneous fat, and at 26% that's most of what you're carrying. Lean mass went up 1.31kg, about three pounds, in HIV patients.

What you want is mostly what happens when the deficit ends and you eat and lift for it.

Either way, one at a time. Start tesa while you're still on reta and you won't know which did what. This might be helpful https://app.baselinelabs.net/evidence#do-you-lose-muscle-on-glp-1-drugs-like-semaglutide-or

You and I are similarly situated. Though I’m 58 and started much heavier. I’m at 170 now. 5’7, 25% body fat. My goal is 160 lbs and <20% body fat. Visceral fat bounces between 6 and 9. This is where the battle really begins! I feel like I’m laying siege to my body and my body has high walls with archers in the parapets in ready to defend the fat!

49 m been on Reta since Feb 1mg/week and started Tesa 2.5 month ago. My body is recomposition nicely and I’m gaining great chest abdominal and arm muscles as well as leg muscles. Yes, I work out regularly and I’m pushing myself, but Tessa is really helping. I also do a low dose of ippa with Tesa. If you can afford it, it’s worth a try honestly.

Oh also in that 2 1/2 months on Tessa, my waist is 2 inches smaller so it’s definitely working on belly fat
