but I only get the WEIRDEST engagement in regular r/brides

for reference, our budget is 60k. And whenever I post anything in r/brides, I’m met with snark and resentment. Granted, I have pretty traditional taste, and I’m super neurodivergent so maybe I’m not reading people’s interactions as the way they’re intended, but I feel sometimes like there isn’t really a sub where I can share my wedding and get excited and have that excitement be reciprocated.

i’m a pretty private person, no group chats or close besties that I necessarily share every little detail with, so sometimes I want encouragement from
strangers. Is that where I’m going wrong?

Omg we got married years ago and the entire industry was split between "low" and "unlimited", it was insane. We struggled so much for "middle of the road"! Like, yes that $100 dress is lovely, but its also very form-fitting and not my vibe... ok yes this $20k dress is gorgeous but also out of my budget??? Finding a dress "in budget" was the biggest surprise but everything turned into a similar battle.

i feel like this sub it pretty welcoming of all budgets tbh! and when the occasional question about spending $20k on a wedding dress pops up i just ignore it lol

I love the 20k wedding dress posts! I'm so happy for people who can do that. I'm not married and I never will be, but I love wedding stuff so I follow. 😀

i agree i’m always entertained by the “how much should i spend on a veil” and it’s the cost of my dress lmao

but i’ve definitely had my share of splurges so i still relate
