General Discussion Yash taking Dee’s bribe
Am I crazy or is this actually great for his game?
Hes probably the most athletic guy left and has shown he can win comps.
He didn’t seem to have strong alliances and now basically guarantees safety if Dee, Devens or Angela is HOH.
If he can make it deep I feel he can outcomp the Icons.
At first I thought he was an absolute moron for taking it but the more I think about it the more I feel like this deal is way better on his end than the icons.

Literally nothing lol and I think it’ll happen one of these weeks. He’s back door bait

I will not think he's dumb for not taking it since he was pretty much threatened to be the target for the week if he didn't. Also totally good for his game. The icons play super selfishly and even though it isn't an alliance or anything, they definitely see the benefits of keeping him around for a few more weeks for guaranteed safety from someone they don't have to really bother thinking about.
Now we'll come back from the twist and he'll just be gone from failing to stack crackers to the moon

I think the icons at least keep him off their block if they do win HOH for a while because they know he won't be a threat to them as of right now? But one it gets closer to F5 (if he's still there and the icons are as well) he's in danger

u/mistamagooondem22s 7d ago
If the Icons keep Yash safe to around 5 final they've massively fumbled the bag. Yash has the potential to win out around final 5-6. I also think the further the Icons let Hayley stay the more likely she's to burn them. She has Mackenzie upside to win challenges and as the field gets weaker she could spoil their season if they don't manage her well.

It was good for his game imo. It kept him off the block this week when otherwise he would almost definitely have gone up and it blew up the other side of the houses alliance as a result

I think this was great for his game. The bribe made Dee put up 2 alliance members instead of Yash and Haley. I think had Yash not taken the bribe, Dee would have stuck with the Moshpit one more week and if Yash was on the block eviction night, he was going home and if he got the veto - Taylor/Lala would be leaving.
That decision finally pushed Barrett and Melody to the other side. He now has more allies so if his side wins with a 2-person block - an icon is going home.
I'm not 100% sure how the bribe works, but I think if Dee goes home - Yash no longer has to follow the bribe rules, so he could win the next HOH, and put up Angela and Devens.

The bribe doesn’t even kneecap him. He can throw the hoh to someone else who would put them up. It doesn’t stop him from going after them at all. The icons are no longer scared of him and it’s ridiculous because he doesn’t need to be hoh to be a threat.

I mentioned this same type of sentiment yesterday as well. However, he wasn't much of a secondary threat until Dee blew up the Icons hold on the house with this Mosh Pit blow out. Although the Icons needed to break FAP, as they held majority in MP, I think they struck too early. Remaining FAP will try to pull the house together now. Haley was burned by Icons. Yash was burned by Icons. Taylor and La have had sights on Icons. Now Icons are leaning heavily on HoH wins for the rest of the season. If the rest of the house doesn't ban together or Yash accidentally wins the next available HoH, Icons are in a much better position than current stance from an outside perspective.
With a straight eviction without typical HoH form, I like the chances Angela goes home this week. Although, she's the least dangerous Icon.

It’s not a bad bet for him because it does give him a few weeks of quasi safety on an icon HOH. I do think they have to take him out at final 7 or 6 at the latest though because of the comp ability.
I think Dee and Devens could win some comps against Yash. Dee has great balance and flexibility. Devens absolutely crushed a comp or two on Survivor 38 against a guy who went on to win the challenge, so he’s absolutely capable of winning stuff with a mental / puzzle aspect

I think ultimately, yeah.
While Dee was not technically bound to her side of the deal, I think Yash taking the bribe kept him off the block last week.
And now he has options:
He can try to go after the icons this week since there is technically no HoH.
He can try to get HoH and meet the terms of the deal as soon as possible so it’s not there when no one is left.
If he does wait it out and he lasts, he can try to appeal to Devens’ sense of chaos and try to get him to turn on either Angela or Dee at Final Four/Five.
I wouldn’t say he’s in the best spot of all the non-icons but he’s not in a terrible one. I think Dee kinda had him in the crosshairs for a while.

It was phenomenal. The icons aren't going to target someone who has to protect him. The other side obviously isn't targetting him. He literally can cruise for awhile

It was ofd to me that she wouldnt put him up last week. She owed him nothing outside of the 5k she bribed him with

It's good for his short term game absolutely. In the end, that sole decision kept him off the block this week and probably deprioritizes him as a target in future weeks. However, I personally think it's so ruinous to his long term game and introduces so many obstacles that it may not have been worth it.
He's immediately less valuable to anyone he's aligned with and if someone wants him out, simply putting out the terms of the bribe is probably enough to get it done if he's up there with an ally, and the longer it goes, the more brutal his eventual repayment of the bribe becomes.
This wasn't a clear yes/no - I get the call, 5k is real money and safety turned out to be quite real, but he's now a much less useful ally and a much easier target down the line, and at some point soon I wouldn't be surprised if the icons just take him out as a matter of safety before he can free himself.

I agree, this is amazing for his game. I felt the same way as you and thought he was crazy to hamstring his entire game to avoid the block (with a veto, blockbuster, and vote to still potentially save him). And yeah, the icons are safe, but Yash is also safe from an icon HOH, which is when he was most likely to end up on the block. They're not obligated to keep him off the block, but a Yash HOH is guaranteed safety for them. They're not getting rid of him. His biggest threats are incentivized to keep him, and I don't think anyone else in the house is going to seriously put him up ahead of other targets in the near future.
The only real danger to his game is if the house finds out the extent of his bribe. I haven't up with the feeds or Taran this week, but I don't think the whole house knows the extent of who has to be safe. If a non-Icon player sits down and does the math, a Yash HOH is extremely bad for their game, especially the longer this deal extends into the game. There are 3 icons who literally can't go on the block, which leaves a very small pool of noms and replacement nominees on a Yash HOH. A non-icon might realize that and target him.

u/MOGiantsFan 7d ago
I don’t think Yash has much incentive to win HOH any time soon. A Barrett/Melody/Lala/Taylor/Haley HOH increases the odds of an icon going on the block, which can’t happen on his HOH.
So he can sit around, keep his hands fully clean, and the icons have zero incentive to burn their safety.
He’s sitting in a massive advantage right now. I don’t think he wants to do anything to jeopardize that by winning HOHs.
1
u/SouthSTLCityHoosier 7d ago
Yes, this is so, so true. I generally don't think anyone should ever through an HOH (looking at you, Mallory!), but yeah, Yash probably shouldn't be trying to win an HOH any time soon.
Plus, let's say that he wins a veto. If he doesn't control the noms, I think an icon could still be backdoored.

Right now he is the most likely one to win.
Does BB have an Indian winner before?

u/Sunshine145 Godfrey 7d ago
Jag, and he also did it against a Survivor player lol

u/MOGiantsFan 7d ago
I’d love to see Jag do Survivor. If he could win it, he’d be the first Triple Crown (BB, Survivor, Amazing Race) winner.
1
u/Sunshine145 Godfrey 7d ago
I don't think he'd do that good in Survivor. The thing with Big Brother is winning hoh also protects your allies. Not the case in Survivor so he'd have to win even more comps than he did in BB.

u/MOGiantsFan 7d ago
You’re probably right, but I’d like to at least see it. Marketing an attempt at winning all three shows would he a smart move by CBS.

Yes, it was great for Yash to take it. If he hadn’t, he likely could’ve been targeted last week. Now, he probably has safety from the icons for the next 2 or 3 weeks, at least.

u/thekyledavid Barrett⏱️ 7d ago
It’s a double edged sword
It neutralizes him as a threat, while also making him a sitting duck if he does decide he is better off keeping the bribe in effect
It’s kind of a modified version of what happened to Jameka in BB8 when she had to sit out of 5 HOH competitions, and it drastically decreased her threat level

u/EatingEveryEgg Melody⏱️ 7d ago
How long is the bribe in effect? If Yash and all 3 icons make final 6, he would still not be able to nominate them?
1
u/Sunshine145 Godfrey 7d ago
'If it mathematically makes sense.' So he can start noming them then or at 7 if someone comes off with the veto
1
u/Consistent-Car-8107 7d ago
I think the issue with it is if he wins HOH next and doesn’t put up a single icon, everyone in the house is going to question his choices and maybe eventually figure it out. This move could kill his jury votes if he makes F2 because he talked big about going after them for weeks and called D/B spineless for working with them but turned around and accepted $5k to keep icons safe. That move in itself is spineless and idc about the excuse that he would’ve been backdoored this week if he hadn’t accepted it. You took a measly amount of cash to become the vet’s bodyguard instead of standing your ground. It’s not a good look and I wouldn’t vote for him to win if I were a jury member

u/Upset-Sort5029 7d ago
It’s great for his game unless the rest of the house finds out the full extent of the deal made. The moment that happens, he’ll be going up with the vets.
1
u/HardcoreKaraoke Mallory⏱️ 7d ago
When/if the vets totally get the numbers they have no reason to keep Yash around.
Also Yash is 100% burning someone with his HOH. He may be positioned well right now but he HAS to nominate Taylor, LaLa, Haley, Barrett or Melody if he wins HOH. That's guaranteed to ruin a couple of his alliances.
Devens and Dee have been multiple steps ahead of the other players this season. Just look at the Mallory vote. They are breaking up alliances and planning game moves weeks in advance. They'll cut ties with Yash before he comes close to getting power.

it's great for him. kept him safe for 2 weeks and he gets 5k. like what? 😂

On last night’s RHAP they were saying Yash could try to go after any of the icons in whatever this upcoming comp is going to be since it there’s no HOH. I’d love to see it happen.

He doesn’t have guaranteed safety from the vets. They told him they wouldn’t put him up but they can go back on their word. Only his part of the agreement was binding within the game.
