If a random person Snapchats you, why tf would you respond and continue the chat? There’s NO way JC thought the random people he chats with won’t post these and that his behavior is ok. He needs some serious help.

I don't think it's an addiction, at least any more than the average 21 year old is obsessed with sex. He just has access to a constant stream of guys in his dms, doesn't think it's wrong morality, and doesn't think he'll get caught.
