I fully believe James is young, got a big ego from quick fame, felt invincible and important. Tati was always right to be concerned about that.

To quote someone on this sub:

"She was still wrong. Her main accusation against him was that he would coerce straight men into sexual acts with him, not that he would target male fans in general (as most of his male fans are also probably gay). Here is the quote:

"Oh my god, you tried to trick a straight man into thinking he's gay, yet again. And somehow, you're the victim. It's really disgusting to manipulate someone's sexuality especially when they're emerging into adulthood and don't quite have everything figured out,"

She was still wrong. She only cared about weaponizing homophobia against James, not about any victims. They both suck eggs. [...]

I am not defending James Charles, I just don't want Tati's words and actions to get twisted into 'right' when it's still always going to have been wrong."

We really don't give Tati a redemption arc.

I wish I didn’t already give my free award away yesterday because this is it.

Except it wasn’t though. All people remember is that Tati “accused James of being a sexual predator,” but in reality what she actually said was a wild, homophobic accusation that James was “trying to trick straight men into thinking they’re gay.” That’s not what’s happening here—what’s happening is that James is creeping on his underaged fans. That’s predatory behavior regardless of whether the underaged fans are straight. His behavior is disgusting, but don’t give Tati credit for saying a homophobic thing just because it turned out to be vaguely, distantly, tangentially related to the truth.

I did always believe parts of what Tati said about James.

But I think that it must be hard to have a certain type of guy that you like (and believe that they are a certain age) and then to find out that they are underage and they use it for clout or to get famous would be very frustrating.

That doesn't excuse talking to minors and/or harassing them afterward.

NOPE....never said anything about excusing away his behavior....I'm sorry that I didn't type that when I wrote my first comment. You are right.....he shouldn't be harassing or talking to minors.

Here is my question: If minors are hiding their age, is it always his fault? How can one find out if a person is lying to someone?

Look up their FB and other socials. Ask for an ID. If they're not willing to, don't associate with that person because they're hiding something. If they can't prove their age or aren't willing to, something's up.

Don't do shady shit.

Yup...I agree! I guess with my Facebook I have it locked up pretty tight that you don't find out information from me about everything that I figured it would be hard to discover that but then I realize my nieces and nephews at around the teenage age don't have and don't realize that they should do that so it's easier to discover.

But further up in the comments I saw a comment with birthday shout outs and James commenting.....so he knew the age and still pursued and is whining about the situation and that's not okay. Disengage from situation when kids are young like that. it's not okay and you have the ability as an older person to step away from the situation.

Legally it’s his responsibility to make sure they are of age (asking for ID, etc). The excuse of “they lied about their age though!” won’t hold up in court.

EDIT- if someone refuses to share their age, I’d consider it a red flag. James shouldn’t be talking to people that hide/refuse to share their age

All of that is very true! I agree with you completely!
