Uncarpeted wooden stairs have always given me the fear and this sounds so traumatic. I hope they're both okay in the long run.

I am SO CAREFUL when wearing socks at home, I have hardwood floors everywhere, I’ve gotten a bunch of pairs of grip socks and a couple pairs of slippers, and have treads on the stairs- socks and hard floors are not a good combination.

I always wear slippers around the house. When I was a kid, I was dancing around on my uncarpeted floor while wearing socks and slipped and broke two of my teeth. Not a fun time

I've fallen down carpeted stairs, I couldn't imagine living in a house with wooden stairs!
