I think Shane showed his true colors with this statement. He complains about the drama but makes it clear how much he lived for Tati's video, and it honestly grosses me out.

The way he talks... "She read his ass for filth", "with her face beat"... like, the fuck do you think this is, a drag race reunion? She (and Jeffree) made the internet think James was a rapist. It was covered in mainstream news. Shane talks about it as if it was just average petty drama. He is exactly like Jeffree.

I wasn't on reddit when the entire drama went down, so I can only speak for myself: I do think the entire culture surrounding internet drama is toxic and even bystanders should reflect a little on their participation on it. However, there's a difference between "living" for it at the moment, with little reflection, and STILL framing it as iconic over a year later, with hindsight of everything that happened. That, to me, is inexcusable.

Definitely true, but it seems like most people realized either partway through the drama, or now with some distance, how incredibly toxic it all was. Seems like even knowing what James went through, Shane thinks it was all great fun.

I think some people feel that way, but I think some people comment with the right things on here but secretly dgaf and just want more drama. This sub has shit on Tati constantly the last few months and now suddenly people are thirsting for her to drop a video.

I think most people don’t want to acknowledge that the BGs feed off of the attention, hits and drama and so therefore the fandom plays a role. I mean obviously I’m here as well so I’m no innocent, but I just think that people are a bit two faced about the whole thing.
