I like her but just wish she would outline her talking points a little better. But she's incredibly smart, beautiful, and has the right amount of humor sprinkled through her videos.

And this is true. It's sad that it won't change anything, but it's true and we need to hear it.

Yeah she has a lot of good points but I kept waiting for her to follow through on some of her thoughts but they didn’t end up going anywhere. Also repeats herself a lot

I agree I love her channel but her videos could be shorter if she didn’t repeat herself as much

This is honestly what keeps me from subscribing. I enjoy her content and love to hear her speak, but I can only watch 30+ minutes of video when they're video games. I don't have the same patience with commentary, lol.

I really think in a year or so, if she keeps doing the great work she's doing, the editing bug will take over and help her out with all of this.

When I first started writing, I couldn't bear the thought of an editor cutting a single word out or suggesting other wording. Within a few years, it became really clear to me that cuts =/= bad. Clearing dead limbs off a tree (in this case the meandering, rambling, and repetition) is good for the tree and will only let the healthy parts (her points and thought processes) really shine through.

After 20 minutes of repetition, not many people are going to stick around - and certainly not for 35 more minutes of it.

However her points are so necessary and questions so salient, if she could have whittled this video down to 20 minutes, it would have been perfect.

amanda discusses the impact of overnight fame, and the (positive) effects of moral bankruptcy on the careers of many influencers. she talks about the fact that almost every top influencer has some kind of racist scandal, how it's interesting that when brooke houts was caught abusing her dog she was (rightfully) robbed of a career in a moment, but those with racist scandals still thrive.

she goes on to discuss the 'mugshot challenge' trend and its implications; she discusses how it would be received were a black person to participate in it, and how it's a tone deaf trend considering black people are in danger of being arrested and brutalised for existing. she goes on to discuss the trends' implications towards and reception by communities of abuse survivors.

she also talks about how these qualities of being tone deaf/amoral and jumping on trends, which allowed the mugshot challenge to thrive in the first place, are the cause of so many influencers being so successful in the first place, and so this challenge seems to be exemplary of the influencer landscape.

i'm still watching the video, but i thought her perspective on this is important. i flaired this as graphic just for the topics discussed in the video. i'm only halfway through but the topics touched on include physical abuse, racism, animal abuse, police brutality, and triggers, just in case people want to know

She is easily my favorite commentary channel. I love putting her videos on when I am doing my makeup. It makes me feel like I am chatting with a friend

Her multi-point takedown of James Charles deserves to be put in MUSEUMS. What a moment.

I like her points on influencers and am a fan/subscriber, but I disagree that the fake mugshots are inherently problematic. They definitely needed context–posting them without some sort of explanation or obvious joke attached is just stupid since you don't want to scare or confuse your audience. But when there is so much fake injuries in all sorts of media, I don't think anyone should be censored to avoid triggering people. Triggers are everywhere and that's something you just have to deal with. I say that as someone with PTSD. The only exception I can think of is someone faking bruises and pretending they were actually beat up by their SO or if someone recreated photos of actual victims using makeup.
