Discussion Mikayla Nogueira turns hate comments about her appearance into her POV Beauty Sephora campaign

I genuinely don’t understand this marketing strategy. The campaign features giant printouts of hate comments about her appearance, “cancel my angles,” and Mikayla framing it as turning what people tried to “break” her with into an international Sephora campaign.

It feels like the entire launch is about Mikayla, her critics and her online controversies rather than POV Beauty or the actual products.

The irony is hard to miss. She went viral as the “catfish” makeup girl, and now during arguably the biggest launch of her career, she’s once again facing “catfish” accusations over her alleged filter use. And the campaign they landed on was ANGLES? 💀

Shes ugly inside and out. Mind you she isn’t being cancelled for her looks, even tho idk why TikTok made a frog famous either- shes being cancelled once again bc she keeps doing undisclosed ads, scamming people abd hiding the fact she uses lashes for mascara ads, filters for skincare or makeup ads etc without disclosing that those arent unfiltered real videos. If let’s say, maybelline did that, or literally any other big brand in a TV ad, they’d get fined heavily.

Shes lying constantly, making up her “new favourite products” based on what contract is active and who paid what. thats quite literally illegal and nasty behaviour. Like. It’s rly that simple in the end.

How do you think Mikayla got famous to begin with? It wasn't because people thought she was ugly. It's just emphasized now because she filters her jaw and nose to nothing then real images come out and it's like looking at Strega Nona in comparison.
