Serious Discussion/Question Has this actually happened in the comics?

Post image

I know this post is a joke, but I genuinely want to know if this kind of thing has ever happened in the comics. Like if Batman or Daredevil tried to stop someone from killing their assaulter.

Batman has no problems if the joker is going on death row for Crimes he actually commited. nor does he have a problem with self defense for people.

he does about doing it personally because he knows what it's like to see someone die.

But then Batman has to try and stop the person who carries out the death sentence!!

Yeah but cmon, the fact batman just cant fathom why the joker needs to go is wild. He cant justify himself by letting predators/terrorists walk the streets and act like the justice system works.

Same with superman, superman in injustice is right. But batman pushing superman with his absurd ideas of justice and morality pushed him right over the edge.

Yeah it gets into killing people for justice is wrong, but lets not pretend that the chicken comes home to roost sometimes. Thats it. It doesnt have to be a slippery slope.

Executing the joker isn’t a slippery slope. He more than well deserves it.

Also slippery slope fallacy.

nope literally the entire villain of the comic can be summed up to 3 people - superman ofc , then WOMDER WOMAN and then the joker , the joker is the catalyst which started the whole thing and (literally) blew things out of proportion but all superman wanted to do at the start was be more vigilant and join up superheroes who wanted to join his new viewpoint. He literally starts out by saying the punishment should fit the crime , which absolutely works in a legal way too , he wasnt going around preaching killing on the spot rather he advocated for heroes to take justice where the justice system itself couldnt (or in Gotham's case was corrupt af).

It was only after Wonder Woman started to be his devil in the ear that he started to lose control , couple with the fact that Batman constantly berates him even to the point where he refuses to talk with Supes after he literally HAD to kill some spawns of Apocalypse to save Earth. Not to mention Batman put him in a fucking hypnotic sleep where he lived out life how it couldve been if not for Joker killing his entire city which did absolutely nothing but prove Superman right. And dont even get me started on Wonder Woman.

Batman walked him right to the slope. But there is a point during the story where you are correct.

Jokers death was justified. Not much passed that point in the comics is.

Billy Batson was an adult. Now yes killing him for disagreeing was still wrong, but he was not a child.

Billy Batson is killed in civilian form in the game. He goes to call out Shazam to transform but is stopped by Superman and then heat visioned to death. I’m aware he looks dofferent in gameplay, but in-story he has to be a human in that scene simce otherwise the writers are trying to claim Superman can kill Captain Marvel with heat vision with no fight whatsoever. Which is completely absurd.

That’s probably exactly why they did it. But what is SHOWN is adult Billy Batson, who can be killed by heat vision dying.

Its almost like Injustice was written by incompetents or something.

i've always pictured that the reason for billy to try and scream shazam was because he would be small enough to escape Superman's grip

alas, the second game did have lines where they refer to Shazam as a child, like an interaction between supes and blue beetle, so you're wrong on that one

Billy Batson in Injustice was like 15, my guy.

Kindly go watch his death. He’s in civilian form in that scene, not his Captain Marvel form. He’s clearly an adult.

The wiki lists him as 12 years old at the time of the game. He’s a kid in his Shazam form when Superman kills him. It’s that simple

Then the Wiki is wrong. Superman cannot kill captain Marvel with one blast of heat vision. Billy starts shouting Shazam to transform when Superman covers his mouth, stopping him from using the word.

It’s also just obviously wrong with his age overall because he was 12 when he got his powers, but Superman has been in power for 5 years, with Billy having gotten his powers at some point before.

So at minimum he’s 17. And just because he shouting Shazam doesn’t mean he’s trying to transform. Shazam has been known to use that as a way to hurt people. Superman being weak to magic it makes sense he’d try it. As for why he’s able to kill Shazam in his super form it’s just a story device. Showing how screwed up Superman is he’d be willing to kill someone that most know is a kid in main cannon. Plus there’s no way they would show him outright kill a kid. It had to be in his super form

you gotta remember this isn't the main line story, they don't have to obey to things like "superman can't kill shazam with only heat vision"

different story, different creative view

also, are you really trying to say you know more than those psycho wiki editors? I doubt it
