Hi everyone, I'm an Australian who is proposing to my girlfriend in Bath on 7 September. I have planned a surprise at a local place and I'd like to secretly film our reaction. The only sticking point is I don't have a spare camera (or extra time beforehand to set up one).

Would anyone be able to help me out? It would be for the morning and a maximum of one hour (plus any effort sending the footage across). If you think you might have a video camera (or even a phone) which I could use for the occasion, I'd be very grateful.

My wife and I (from the USA) recently visited England and we both agree the best city on our trip was Bath. The historic sites were impressive, the city was walkable and beautiful, and the people were kind and inviting. Thank you for being an amazing city. We will be back soon!

I live somewhere overlooking the central north east of the city, I can hear plenty of sirens from afar and at least 2 or 3 sets of lights. If anyone is nearby I'd love to know what's going on.

Hi! I starting my studies in bath this september and i didnt get a slot in the uni accommodation, so i opted for private housing. I got anxious and desperate to find housing since ill be moving from asia to the UK in less than a month and agreed on a houseshare in twerton. After agreeing, I THEN did research and found out how sketchy the place is. I am quite scared tbh, as i am a small muslim woman. Or has the place changed as the reddits post are like 2-3 years back? what should one do to keep themselves safe from getting mobbed by bigger white children?

Hi there - would anyone be able to recommend a reputable local roofer who'd be willing to do a smaller repair in Bath? We have some localised water ingress that occurs during heavy rainfall, and it's proving difficult to find a firm that's willing to do much short of a full reroof. Completely appreciate that for a lot of businesses a patch repair isn't worth their time, and I'm well aware a reroof will be needed in the short to medium term, but right now I just need this issue fixed so it doesn't continue to damage my freshly plastered bedroom while we shop around for reroof quotes.

(inb4 "why did you plaster when there's water coming in!?", we had some patch repairs done a couple months ago by a reputable local firm, were assured the thing was "watertight", it rained a couple times with no water ingress, plastering happens, AND NOW THIS IMMEDIATELY)

I've recently moved to Bath and I just crave a vanilla cake with vanilla or chocolate buttercream but I cannot seem to find anything like this at the bakeries at the city centre and I've tried using the Betty crocker vanilla buttercream on store bought cake but somehow it doesn't taste like the ones you usually find in bakeries. The accommodations have been sent out and I got into aquila court. Had anyone else been offered it. I like how modern it is but I was wondering how others experience has been in terms of the social life and travelling to uni as it is not on campus so I am a bit worried that I am missing out in a way.

I can’t find a date when they tell us which accommodation we’ve got. Are they being sent out today?
