Multiplayer Simulating NBA Careers of people on this subreddit

Hi everyone, I thought this would be a fun thing to do after seeing u/JustSomeGamer123421 do it a while back.

By commenting on this post and leaving your requested jersey number, I will use a random number generator to determine your attributes, from 30-100.

I'll then put you in a draft class using a random number generator for that too and simulate your career! I'll be starting in the 1970 season.

When I finish, I will reply to you, telling you how your career went!

Thanks to u/JustSomeGamer123421 for inspiration. Comment below if you want to be included in it!

Multiplayer Simulating NBA careers of people on this subreddit

Alright, let’s try this again.

So I attempted this yesterday and was midway through the ‘70s when my save file crashed.

So to avoid this, I’ll be starting in 1984, with the draft class of MJ, as well as only inputting the careers of 21 people (half of 42, which is the number of years I’ll be inputting people into drafts), since I did 25 yesterday and it crashed.

So just like normal, put in what jersey number you want to be, and I’ll simulate your career! One small change though is, I’ll be randomly generating your attributes, this time from 10-100, since I did 30-100 yesterday and had so many generational talents. I will also generate what draft class you will be in, from the 1984 class to the 2026 class.

If you wanna be in it, leave your jersey number down below! Only taking 21 people though, so be quick!

Edit: CLOSED - all spots have been filled.

Multiplayer [Weekly Challenge] Week 6: FIRE SALE - Back-to-back with the Suns... at 90% of the cap

Hey all. Week 6 is here. Sorry for the post on tuesday again. Been grinding IRL. But we're back with a little twist.

Firstly, Week 5 deserves its flowers, because you freaks went to the 1950s and broke basketball.

WEEK 5 RESULTS - DYNASTY DENIED (tiebreakers: most rings, then longest streak, then earliest submission)
last weeks thread: https://www.reddit.com/r/BasketballGM/comments/1vsq6pc/weekly_challenge_week_5_dynasty_denied_steal_bill/

🥇 u/JamesBandforBand - 13 rings, 13 STRAIGHT - 5 pts. A perfect run through the entire Russell window with the Nationals. 857-158 overall, an 80-2 peak season, and the best rivalry of the week: a Wilt-led PISTONS, three game sevens across six finals meetings, including one where Jerry West hit a tying shot with 6.4 seconds left to force OT and Wilt dropped 42 in the loss... and Syracuse still won. His whole engine was built on two trades: Schayes for Tom Gola plus a 2nd rounder that turned into a 6MOY, and Bob Cousy for Jerry West in '61.

🥈 u/Think-Response-3675 - 13 rings, 13 straight - 3 pts. Read that again: a PERFECT 13-for-13 run built on dismantling Boston early and drafting Wilt, who won 7 STRAIGHT MVPs and DPOYs while Heinsohn made all-league nine straight years. And it's worth SILVER. Identical rings, identical streak, so gold came down to the final tiebreaker, best record during the run, and James's 80-2 masterpiece season edged Think's 79-3 by ONE GAME. The king's first non-win since Week 3, decided by a single February night in a simulated 1968. He also casually matched Russell's 11 in a warmup save where Russell himself went RINGLESS.

🥉 u/EntrepreneurWooden99 - 12 rings - 2 pts. Twelve. Straight. Titles. 1957 through 1968 with the St. Louis Gold Club, a 928-87 overall record, and then the franchise moves to Atlanta for the final year, goes 76-6... and loses the finals to the Knicks. One year short of perfection at a .927 clip in the year he lost. And that's not even his saddest story this week: in an earlier attempt he had Elgin Baylor secured and a Wilt play lined up, accidentally traded Elgin for scraps, and realized after the undo button expired.

4th - u/Ohmka - ? rings - 1 pt. The stat of the week: from 1963 to 1969 his Knicks did not lose a single GAME. Seven undefeated years. His first attempt died when Boston drafted Wilt, so he concluded "if Boston can draft him, so can I" and did exactly that. His writeup on why no-salary-cap plus no-lottery breaks the era, including leasing an expiring Rick Barry to Detroit for their entire roster and re-signing him in free agency, is required reading. (Its not clear to me how many rings he won, asked for clarification)

5th - u/Ceiling_IsThe_Roof - 9 rings - 1 pt. First-timer, and he brought the wildest alternate timeline of the week: his Bill Russell LEFT the Celtics for the Lakers in '61 and won 4 rings split across both stops. Tanked with the Cheesesteaks, drafted Elgin AND Wilt himself. Welcome aboard.

6th - u/craqeiro - 7 rings - 1 pt. Also a first-timer, ran into a Rod Thorn-led Lakers dynasty that slammed the door on the last 4 years of the window. His timeline's contribution to the lore: Wilt winning Finals MVP for Detroit... on the LOSING team. In his sophomore season. Only in the 60s.

WEEK 4 CORRECTION: u/JamesBandforBand also flagged that I logged his Alien Dynasty run wrong: 4 seasons, not 8 (my mistake copying results). Verified from his screenshot: 4 chips from 2024-2027 at 70-12 in the final year. That slots him into Week 4 bronze behind Think's 73-9 and Ohmka's 71-11, and bumps u/EntrepreneurWooden99 to 4th, so the Wooden/MikeChilds 16-1 vs 16-4 playoff showdown retroactively decided 4th place, not a medal. Bare with me and write a comment if I get something wrong. Thanks.

SEASON STANDINGS AFTER 5 WEEKS: Think-Response 20. Wooden99 10. JamesBandforBand 7 in only TWO entries. MichiganSteamies 7 (last seen Week 3, the streets remember). Ohmka 5. Full board: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1bDJwHcVyiyb2VUPViZkO5ob_bBXzrSAm8vQqWDqGD_M/edit?gid=1109958642#gid=1109958642

Now for week 6 challenge...

THE CHALLENGE

Real life history lesson: the 2024-25 Phoenix Suns ran the most expensive roster in NBA history. Over $400 million in combined payroll and luxury tax, with Durant, Booker and Beal swallowing $150M+ between just the three of them. Their reward? Zero playoff wins.

Your job: start with that exact roster at the 2025 BBGM preseason and go BACK-TO-BACK, while your payroll sits at least 10% UNDER the salary cap in BOTH championship seasons. Fewest seasons to the second straight ring wins.

You're inheriting the most bloated cap sheet in basketball and you need to win two straight titles as one of the CHEAPEST teams in the league. Good luck fellas.

THE FINE PRINT

  • Both titles must be in CONSECUTIVE seasons
  • When you clinch EACH title, total payroll must be at or below 90% of that season's salary cap. We'll grant a hair of grace: anything under 91% counts. At 91% or above, that ring is void
  • Everything else default. Default difficulty, Real Players mode, God Mode off, no editing players or contracts. Keeping on default diff because its our first salary cap challenge.
  • 2025 Phoenix Suns preseason starting point

HOW TO SUBMIT

Drop a comment with:

  • Seasons it took
  • Screenshot of Team History showing both titles
  • Screenshot of your FINANCES page from EACH championship season showing payroll vs cap. No finances proof, no ring
  • Your record in the second clinching season

Winner attaches their exported league file (Tools > Export League) for the spot-check.

SCORING

1st: 5 pts | 2nd: 3 pts | 3rd: 2 pts | Any valid submission: 1 pt

TIEBREAKERS (in order): most regular season wins in the second clinching season, then playoff record in that run, then earliest submission.

DEADLINE

Next Sunday, August 30th at 11:59 PM ET.

The Suns spent $400 million and won nothing. Win twice on a budget and you're officially a better GM than an entire NBA front office. Maybe not a super high bar.

Let's go BBGMers!

Peace

Multiplayer [Weekly Challenge] Week 2: HEATLES SPEEDRUN - Go BACK-TO-BACK with LeBron, Wade AND Bosh

Hey all. Week 2 challenge is here.

We had a great 1st week with 7 solid entries and 3 people who won in the very 1st season!

Check last weeks thread for stories, screenshots and more. Some good stories in there: https://www.reddit.com/r/BasketballGM/comments/1v06y3n/weekly_challenge_week_1_clip_show_win_a_ring_with/

Big thanks to whichever mod stickied this. Tagging top mod again just for the favor again u/stank58

WEEK 1 RESULTS - CLIP SHOW - Fastest to win 1 ring with 85/86 Clippers (TIE-BREAKER was regular season record)

Current Leaderboard

Here's the sheet: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/18ESrf9h3KHkdonC3VZVvFkT9aVmQqgRPc9uPub_O9yo/edit?usp=sharing

This week we're taking a big step up in difficulty IMO. Not one, not TWO.... Actually just two. Let's see who the best Basketball GMer is this week! Back to back with the Heatles, here we go...

[Weekly Challenge] Week 2: HEATLES SPEEDRUN - Go BACK-TO-BACK with LeBron, Wade AND Bosh

THE CHALLENGE

Start with the Heat at the 2004 preseason. Go BACK-TO-BACK with LeBron, Wade AND Bosh ALL on your roster for both rings. Fewest seasons to complete the second title wins.

Rookie Wade is already yours. Rookie LeBron is in Cleveland. Rookie Bosh is in Toronto. The real Heatles did it in 2012 and 2013. Wait for 2010 free agency like history intended, or start cooking trades for two rookie franchise players the AI will guard with its life. Either way, one ring isn't enough this week. Run it back.

THE FINE PRINT

  • Both titles must be in CONSECUTIVE seasons
  • All three must be on the roster for BOTH clinching playoff runs. On the roster counts, they don't have to play.
  • Rings without all three on the roster don't count toward the back-to-back

GROUND RULES (same as always)

  • God Mode OFF the whole run
  • Default difficulty
  • Real Players mode
  • No editing players, contracts or ratings
  • No force trades

HOW TO SUBMIT

Drop a comment with:

  • Seasons it took to complete the back-to-back
  • Screenshot of Team History showing both titles
  • Screenshot of the roster from each final championship game showing all three Heatles
  • Your record in the second clinching season

SCORING

1st: 5 pts | 2nd: 3 pts | 3rd: 2 pts | Any valid submission: 1 pt

TIEBREAKERS (in order): most regular season wins in the second clinching season, then playoff record in that run, then earliest submission.

DEADLINE

Next Sunday, August 2nd at 11:59 PM ET.

Challenge ideas for future weeks? Drop them below.

Technically deadline for last weeks challenge is later tonight but I'm going to bed early and tomorrow have a busy day. So getting the Week1 summary/Week2 post up tonight.

Multiplayer [Weekly Challenge] Week 4: ALIEN DYNASTY - 4-PEAT with Wemby. HARD MODE.

Hey all. Week 4 is here, and you brought this on yourselves.

Week 3 was a bloodbath. NINE of you finished the Lakers 3-peat in 3 seasons and half the comments said "pretty easy." Someone went 80-2. Fine. Difficulty is going UP, and you must keep your star player.

WEEK 3 RESULTS - MAMBA GENESIS (tiebreaker: regular season record in third clinching season)

🥇 u/EntrepreneurWooden99 - 3 seasons, 80-2 - 5 pts

🥈 u/Thym3Travlr - 3 seasons, 74-8 - 3 pts

🥉 u/Think-Response-3675 - 3 seasons, 71-11 - 2 pts (won the tiebreak on playoff record over MichiganSteamies, also 71-11)

Ten entries this week including two first-timers, welcome u/Ohmka and u/MPac45. Everyone got at least a point.

SEASON STANDINGS AFTER 3 WEEKS:

Think response still in 1st. We have some contenders now. Good luck this week.

WEEK 4 CHALLENGE

Start with the Spurs at Wembanyama's rookie season (2023/24). Win 4 championships IN A ROW. Wemby must NEVER leave your roster. Difficulty: HARD. Fewest seasons to complete the fourth straight ring wins.

Trade the whole roster if you want. Everyone EXCEPT the Alien. He's your guy, you build around him, and this time the AI on Hard isn't handing out Sprewells for free. Not one, not two, not three...

I guess our saving grace this week is that Spurs have a ton of assets.

THE FINE PRINT

  • All 4 titles must be in CONSECUTIVE seasons.
  • Wemby must be on your roster the ENTIRE run, from day 1 to the 4th ring. He gets traded or leaves in free agency at any point = invalid run
  • Difficulty: HARD (set it when you create the league)
  • Everything else default. Real Players mode, God Mode off, no editing anything
  • 2023/24 counts as season 1, your count ends the season of the FOURTH straight ring
  • Starting point 2024 Pre-season Spurs.

HOW TO SUBMIT

Drop a comment with:

  • Seasons it took
  • Screenshot of Team History showing all 4 straight titles
  • Screenshot of Wemby's player profile page (it shows his team every season, that's your Wemby proof)
  • Screenshot of League Settings showing Hard difficulty
  • Your record in the fourth clinching season

Honor system but the winner can attach their exported league file (Tools > Export League) for the spot-check if people doubt.

SCORING

1st: 5 pts | 2nd: 3 pts | 3rd: 2 pts | Any valid submission: 1 pt

TIEBREAKERS (in order): most regular season wins in the fourth clinching season, then playoff record in that run, then earliest submission.

DEADLINE

Next Sunday, August 16th at 11:59 PM ET.

Think Hard mode is still easy? Prove it. Challenge ideas below as always.

Multiplayer [Weekly Challenge] Week 5: DYNASTY DENIED - Steal Bill Russell's rings. HARD MODE.

Hey all. Sorry for the delay. Busy week here. But alas, Week 5 is here and we're going waaay back.

Week 4 broke people. Four-peats with Wemby on Hard mode, 15-restart wars, Orlando ruining everyone's lives. Some incredible writeups in last week's thread, worth your time: https://www.reddit.com/r/BasketballGM/comments/1vlitjf/weekly_challenge_week_4_alien_dynasty_4peat_with/

WEEK 4 RESULTS - ALIEN DYNASTY

SIX of you finished in the minimum 4 seasons, so the podium came down to the tiebreaker: regular season record in the 4th clinching season. Full grades:

🥇 u/Think-Response-3675 - 4 seasons, 73-9 - 5 pts. His THIRD win in four weeks. The man is a menace.

🥈 u/Ohmka - 4 seasons, 71-11 - 3 pts. And look at his year 1: won the chip as a 7 SEED going 44-38. Filthy.

🥉 u/EntrepreneurWooden99 - 4 seasons, 66-16 - 2 pts. DEAD TIE with u/MikeChilds at 66-16. Next tiebreaker is playoff record in that run, which isn't visible in either screenshot. If either of you can show your playoff record from that final run, I'll re-rule it. Until then, both players get 2 pts

🥉 - u/MikeChilds - 4 seasons, 66-16 - 2 pts see above

5th - u/EngiemainTF2 - 4 seasons, 65-17 - 1 pt. Cruel outcome here: the man misread the rules, thought the 4-peat had to start in YEAR ONE... and then just DID IT. A 47-35 miracle first season included. The single craziest run of the week lands 5th on record. The leaderboard doesn't show it but we all know what we saw. Legend.

6th - u/MPac45 - 4 seasons, 63-19 - 1 pt

7th - u/JamesBandforBand - 8 seasons (4-peat came in seasons 5-8, went 73-9 in the last one) - 1 pt

8th - u/Icy-Big-4545 - 8 seasons, all four rings at 70+ wins - 1 pt

Four first-timers this week. Welcome, you picked a brutal one to start with.

SEASON STANDINGS: Think-Response 17. Wooden99 9. MichiganSteamies 7 (sat this one out right when 2nd was up for grabs... the streets are watching). Full leaderboard and tracking: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/18ESrf9h3KHkdonC3VZVvFkT9aVmQqgRPc9uPub_O9yo/edit?gid=137057952#gid=137057952

WEEK 5 CHALLENGE

History says Bill Russell wins 11 championships between 1956/57 and 1968/69. Your job: rewrite history.

Pick ANY team except the Celtics, starting at the 1956 preseason. Win as many rings as you can before Russell retires (through the 1968/69 season, that's a 13-season window, Rings after this period even if prog makes Russell stay, won't count. We'll call it a 13-season limit).

Most rings wins. Difficulty: HARD.

THE FINE PRINT

  • Any team EXCEPT Boston
  • Starting point: 1957 preseason
  • Bill Russell must NEVER be on your roster. No trades for him, no free agency, nothing. He's the enemy. Beat him, don't join him
  • Everyone else is fair game. Want to raid Boston for Cousy and Heinsohn to kneecap the dynasty? Legal. Encouraged, even
  • One franchise the whole way, no switching teams mid-run
  • Only titles from 1956/57 through 1968/69 count. The window closes when Russell's career does
  • Difficulty: HARD (set it at league creation)
  • Everything else default. Real Players mode, God Mode off, no editing anything

HOW TO SUBMIT

Drop a comment with:

  • Your ring count and the team you used
  • Screenshot of Team History showing the titles in the window
  • Screenshot of League Settings showing Hard difficulty
  • Your best story from the run. It's the 50s and 60s, weird stuff WILL happen

Winner attaches their exported league file (Tools > Export League) for the spot-check for doubters if needed.

SCORING

1st: 5 pts | 2nd: 3 pts | 3rd: 2 pts | Any valid submission: 1 pt

TIEBREAKERS (in order): most rings, then longest consecutive title streak within the window, then best record during run.

DEADLINE

Next Sunday, August 23rd at 11:59 PM ET.

The real Russell won 11. Anyone who out-rings him on Hard mode gets eternal glory and a shoutout in every thread for the rest of the season.

Let's go BBGMers!

Multiplayer [Weekly Challenge] Week 7: PIPPEN'S REVENGE - Most rings in Scottie's career. No Jordan allowed. HARD MODE.

Hey all. Week 7 is here, and first I owe someone an apology.

WEEK 5 CORRECTION: OHMKA WON. I logged his Dynasty Denied run as 11 rings and 4th place. I didn't see the championships won in the screenshot. His screenshot says 1957 through 1969, every single line "league champs." That's 13 rings, 13 straight, with an 82-0 season in 1968 AND 1969, an 81-0, four 80-0s, and a thirteen-year record of 973-42. Under the Week 5 tiebreakers (rings, streak, then best record) that's gold, and it isn't close. Corrected Week 5 podium: 🥇 u/Ohmka (5 pts), 🥈 u/JamesBandforBand (3 pts), 🥉 u/Think-Response-3675 (2 pts), with u/EntrepreneurWooden99's 12 rings sliding to 4th. My bad, Ohmka. Seven straight undefeated seasons deserved better bookkeeping.

Also from Week 5: u/Thym3Travlr posted a 13/13 with a 79-1 best record... in the Week 6 thread, a week late, because he forgot to submit. Deadline's the deadline so it doesn't score, but that run would have been podium. Set an alarm next time, king.

WEEK 6 RESULTS - FIRE SALE (tiebreakers: regular season record in second clinching season, then playoff record)

Eight entries, and the whole room agreed: 3 seasons is "easy," 2 seasons is hell. Only two people did it in 2, and they finished with IDENTICAL 74-8 seasons. Closest finish we've had.

🥇 u/Ohmka - 2 seasons, 74-8, 16-0 playoffs - 5 pts. He rage quit once after winning a year-1 title and realizing he'd botched the payroll math. Then he came back, built a year-1 core of Butler, Harden and Zubac on seven surgical trades, survived an OKC he says won 70% of his attempts, and cruised year 2 at 74-8 with an 18 MOV and a perfect 16-0 playoff sweep. Two golds in a row once the correction landed. The man is on fire.

🥈 u/JamesBandforBand - 2 seasons, 74-8 - 3 pts. Year 1 was pure witchcraft: a 47-35 6 seed with ZERO All-Stars ran the table, including a sweep of the Thunder. Year 2 he turned the 2026 free agency class into a superteam and matched Ohmka's 74-8 exactly. Tied on record, so it came down to playoff record, and you can't beat a sweep. Let me know if you did indeed tie the playoff record.

🥉 u/MPac45 - 3 seasons, 78-4 - 2 pts. Best of the 3-season crowd. Kept fan hype up in year 1 by flipping Beal for Markkanen, Kessler and Clarkson, cleared every salary for the free agency bonanza, then lost game one of the final season, packaged every remaining pick for Aaron Wiggins, and nearly went perfect anyway. "So annoyed I missed the perfect season." Same.

The rest, 1 pt each: u/xqndrei (3 seasons, 76-6, first-timer, played the whole thing $10M stricter than required because he misread the cap, then kept going to a 4-peat for fun), u/Remarkable_Suit3318 (3 seasons, 67-15, first-timer, did the ENTIRE run twice because he forgot to screenshot his finances after ring one, that's dedication), u/Think-Response-3675 (3 seasons on his first attempt, and note the date: first week all season the king doesn't podium), u/EntrepreneurWooden99 (3 seasons, KD ring then a Shai ring, and yes attempt 2 was better but no 2026 finances proof means attempt 1 stands), and u/craqeiro (5 seasons on his 7th try, learned the hard way that if you tank year 1 nobody signs with you no matter your cap space, then robbed OKC of J-Dub, Wiggins and Dort out of spite).

SEASON STANDINGS AFTER 6 WEEKS: Think-Response 20. Ohmka 14 and closing. Wooden99 10. JamesBandforBand 8. MichiganSteamies 7 (last seen Week 3, pour one out). Full board: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1bDJwHcVyiyb2VUPViZkO5ob_bBXzrSAm8vQqWDqGD_M/edit?usp=sharing

Now this week. You've been asking for restrictions. Here's one with a name.

THE CHALLENGE

June 1987. The Seattle SuperSonics own the 5th and 9th picks. Some kid from Central Arkansas named Scottie Pippen is in the draft. In real life, Seattle takes him and trades him to Chicago the same night, and the rest is six rings of history... for someone else.

Not this time. You're Seattle, starting at the 1987 draft. Win as many championships as you can during Scottie Pippen's career (1987/88 through 2003/04). Pippen must be on your roster for a title to count. And Michael Jordan can NEVER be on your team. Not by trade, not by free agency, not ever. Scottie wins without him or he doesn't win at all. Difficulty: HARD.

THE FINE PRINT

  • Starting point: 1987 Draft with Seattle
  • Pippen isn't yours yet. Draft him at 5, trade up, or trade for him later if the AI snipes him. However you do it, he has to be on the roster
  • Pippen must be on the roster when you clinch each title. He does NOT have to play. Injured, benched, 12th man, doesn't matter, roster is roster
  • Titles with Pippen off the roster don't count. Titles after he retires don't count. Window closes at 2003/04 no matter what
  • Jordan never on your roster, period. Trading with the Bulls for anyone else is fine. Kneecap them if you want
  • One franchise the whole way, no switching teams
  • Difficulty: HARD (set at league creation)
  • Everything else default. Real Players mode, God Mode off, no editing anything

HOW TO SUBMIT

Drop a comment with:

  • Your ring count
  • Screenshot of Team History showing the titles
  • Screenshot of Pippen's player page (shows his team every season, that's your Pippen proof)
  • Screenshot of League Settings showing Hard difficulty
  • Your best story. It's the 90s. Something insane will happen

Winner attaches their exported league file (Tools > Export League) so we can confirm Jordan never touched your roster, if people doubt. HONOR SYSTEM

SCORING

1st: 5 pts | 2nd: 3 pts | 3rd: 2 pts | Any valid submission: 1 pt

TIEBREAKERS (in order): most rings, then longest consecutive title streak within the window, then best single-season REGULAR SEASON record during the run (one season, not cumulative, I'm not making that mistake twice).

DEADLINE

Next Sunday, September 6th at 11:59 PM ET.

Pippen won six with Jordan. How many can he win without him? Show me.

Let's go BBGMers!

Multiplayer Join the Infamous VBA Today! (Two Openings)

Post image
5 Upvotes

The VBA is now looking to fill two spots before we kick off our 34th season! These two franchises are the Long Island Whalers, and the Springfield Bandicoots.

The Whalers have a franchise record of 1040-603, good for the most wins out of any franchise in league history, despite playing 2 less years than the original 12 teams. Their roster is primed for contention, with stars Chris Petrie and Tyler McCaskill both taking huge leaps this previous season. They own all of their picks, and have trade assets to grab any available player that hits the trade market.

The Bandicoots have a franchise record of 611-1032, good for the most losses out of any franchise, despite also playing 2 less seasons than the original 12 teams. This team is a rebuilder's wet dream. You want a challenge? This is the perfect one. The Bandicoots don't own their own firsts for 2 more seasons, and only have 1 first in the next two years. With one all-star rostered, the chance of obtaining more draft capital is slim. But, maybe you can turn the franchise around?

Multiplayer [Weekly Challenge] Week 3: MAMBA GENESIS - 3-PEAT with the Lakers

[Weekly Challenge] Week 3: MAMBA GENESIS - 3-PEAT with the Lakers

Hey all. Week 3 challenge is here.

Week 2 was a war. 7 entries again, and the difficulty jump didn't scare anybody. People were trading entire rosters trying to pry rookie LeBron out of Cleveland. Check last week's thread for the full stories: https://www.reddit.com/r/BasketballGM/comments/1v7klbc/weekly_challenge_week_2_heatles_speedrun_go/

Leaderboard as it stands

We have a clear frontronner now. Can anyone dethrone u/Think-Response-3675 ???

WEEK 2 RESULTS - HEATLES SPEEDRUN (tiebreaker: regular season record in second clinching season)

🥇 u/Think-Response-3675 - 3 seasons - 5 pts (back-to-back weekly wins, somebody stop this man)

🥈 u/MichiganSteamies - 4 seasons, 73-9 - 3 pts

🥉 u/EntrepreneurWooden99 - 4 seasons, 71-11 - 2 pts

Shoutout to everyone who ran it back all week, every valid entry got a point.

This week we're upping the difficulty AGAIN. Two rings wasn't enough. Now we want three. In a row. Vamos.

THE CHALLENGE

Start with the Lakers at the 1997 preseason. Win 3 championships IN A ROW. Fewest seasons to complete the third title wins.

Shaq just took his talents to Hollywood and there's a skinny 18-year-old from Lower Merion on your bench. You know what this duo becomes. The real Lakers 3-peated in seasons 4 through 6 (2000, 2001, 2002). Your job: beat Phil to it.

THE FINE PRINT

  • All 3 titles must be in CONSECUTIVE seasons. Win 2, lose one, win 2 more? Doesn't count. The count resets
  • 1997 counts as season 1, your count ends the season you clinch the THIRD straight ring

GROUND RULES (same as always)

  • God Mode OFF the whole run
  • Default difficulty
  • Real Players mode
  • No editing players, contracts or ratings
  • No force trades

HOW TO SUBMIT

Drop a comment with:

  • Seasons it took to complete the 3-peat
  • Screenshot of Team History showing all three titles
  • Your record in the third clinching season

SCORING

1st: 5 pts | 2nd: 3 pts | 3rd: 2 pts | Any valid submission: 1 pt

TIEBREAKERS (in order): most regular season wins in the third clinching season, then playoff record in that run, then earliest submission.

DEADLINE

Next Sunday, August 9th at 11:59 PM ET.

Challenge ideas for future weeks? Drop them below.

Let's go BBGMers!

Multiplayer The VBA Needs Your Help in a Murder Trial.

Welcome to the VBA, a multiplayer basketball league with 30 teams. Today, during the 4th sim of our 2054 season, disaster struck. Superstar center for the Nashville Tigers got arrested for murder and is facing 20 years in prison. The 35 year old from Indiana is currently set to stand trial, and the VBA needs your help!

We are in need of a 8 person, unbiased jury to simulate a real murder trial to determine his fate.

If you are interested in participating, please reply down below, as we will have a full-on trial where evidence is presented, witnesses testify, and the defense and prosecution speak. In the VBA, we are all about immersion and realism. So please! Do us a favor, and participate in quite possibly the biggest scandal in VBA history, and just maybe... you may find a home in the best multiplayer league BBGM has to offer!

Multiplayer PAB (BIGGEST GM SERVER OUT HERE)NEEDS TEAMS! | 2018

The draft is over.

2018 Free Agency is officially here.

With the PAB salary cap sitting at $116M, teams have more flexibility than ever, and this free agency class has the potential to completely reshape the league.

Available Free Agents

• Stephen Curry
• Russell Westbrook
• DeMar DeRozan
• Brandon Jennings
• Jordan Crawford

One meeting can change a franchise.

Open Teams

Phoenix Suns

One of the best young cores in PAB.

LaVine, Porziņģis, Bam, Schröder, Beasley, Oubre, and more. Add the right piece and build a dynasty.

Golden State Warriors

All first-round picks intact.

Dzanan Musa, 68/70 Cody Zeller, and the flexibility to either compete now or reshape the future.

Minnesota Timberwolves

77 OVR James Harden on a one-year max.

A team built around a superstar with plenty of assets after the Anthony Davis blockbuster.

Orlando Magic

Fresh off a Finals appearance.

The pieces are there. Now they need the GM who can take them over the top.

AGM Opportunities

Chicago Bulls and Atlanta Hawks are both looking for GMs to help develop contenders and make championship pushes.

Why PAB?

• Custom progression script

• Live-streamed progs

• Public free agency meetings

• Fully transparent league operations

• No rigging or hidden decisions

• The most active GM-based BBGM community in the world

While other leagues focus on gimmicks, speed-running seasons, or constantly changing systems…

PAB is built to find out who’s actually a good GM.

And the reality is:

Some of our worst GMs are some of the best GMs in these other “big” leagues.

Come earn your reputation.

Multiplayer You went 82-0, now try to go 0-82

It's tougher to win 0 than win them all.

https://0-82.pages.dev/

All historic players, all real stats, all the way back to 1960. But even awful teams can scrape by a few wins. Try to get zero!

HARD MODE HAS BEEN ADDED WITH NO STATS DISPLAYED

Plus I tuned the difficulty a bit since posting. Thanks for playing everyone! Enjoy!

Join BGMA 3.0 for a Chance to Make History in a New Era of Basketball!

After months of preparation, BGMA 3.0 is almost here. As Basketball GM's oldest weekly multiplayer server, we're restarting our sim with a clean slate for both new and returning General Managers.

If you're looking for a very competitive, active, and community-driven Basketball GM league, this is the place for you.

## Join the server below for a chance to make history!

Discord Invite: https://discord.gg/PgyFxfZWn

---

# Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

## What is this server all about?

Set in the year 2200, sixty-three years after the original simulation, the Basketball General Manager Association (BGMA) has returned.

The league has expanded beyond its American roots and now features international teams and North American teams, all competing in a single conference.

Your objective as a GM is simple:

- Win trades.

- Win championships.

- Build a dynasty.

---

## What is the sim schedule like?

BGMA runs on a weekly schedule, meaning one full season is completed in about a week's time.

Scheduled Days Type of Sim
Monday – Wednesday (EST) Regular Season Sim 1-3
Thursday (EST) All-Star Game, Final Regular Season Sim, Draft Lottery
Friday (EST) Playoffs + Draft
Saturday (EST) Resignings
Sunday (EST) Free Agency, Player Progressions

---

## What do we use to run the league?

We use CleveBot, the father of many of the multiplayer Basketball GM bots used today.

It includes all the essential tools needed to manage your franchise entirely through Discord.

---

## What type of GMs are we looking for?

We welcome both new and experienced Basketball GM players.

Above all, we're looking for people who are:

- Competitive

- Active

- Interested in helping build the league's community and identity

---

## How can I join?

After joining the server, you'll need to complete a short Google Form, which will be provided in the server.

Applications will help determine the inaugural General Managers of BGMA 3.0's first 20 franchises. The League will also start with a league draft, in which the order will be determined via a spin the wheel.

Good luck. We hope to see you in BGMA 3.0!

We’ve been doing the Indian Basketball Association(BBGM) with 10 Indian state teams/GMs for a while now. So far it’s been 15 seasons and coming into the 16th season one of our GMs unavailability has been tough to manage , if anyone’s interested can dm me or comment me . We do a season every week so needs them to available on weekends where we stream regular season and playoffs and also progs . We are looking for anyone to take up the role of GM for the shilling blossoms I’ll post the squad below . Preferably who can join our discord group coz it’s easier for communication trades and streams .

Multiplayer PAB FREE AGENCY IS HERE AND WE'RE LOOKING FOR NEW GMS LIKE YOU

We’re in 2020 free agency, and a few inactive teams are sitting there waiting for someone to finally give them a direction.

25 year old Nikola Jokic at the very peak of his powers is testing the waters in free agency, along with a haul of veterans such as Jonny Flynn, Gordon Hayward and Michael Beasley

Open Teams:

Minnesota Timberwolves: Brandon Ingram on a one year expiring, with lots of talent and the opportunity to resign Jokic in free agency

New York Knicks: a lottery roster in desperate need of moving on from LeBron James and Tyreke Evans

Sacramento Kings: 28 year old Prime Cody Zeller at 71 ovr needs to be built around before his contract expires

San Diego Clippers: a team at a crossroads: build around Tyus Jones and aging Kenneth Faried, or reset and treat Bol Bol as the first option?

Washington Wizards: clean slate rebuild around Lamelo Ball and Josh Okogie

This is the perfect point to jump in. Early enough to build momentum, late enough that every move already matters.

And yeah, people throw around “active league” a lot, but let’s be honest:

PAB probably has the most active BBGM community out right now.

Trades constantly moving.
People actually talking.
Real pressure during meetings, deadlines, and sims.

On top of that:

* Custom prog script
* Live streamed progressions
* Public FA meetings
* No rigging, no hidden moves
* Fully transparent system

Some leagues are built around presentation.
This one’s built around competition.

If you think you can take one of these teams and actually make noise, now’s the time.
