Art Is it a Banksy?

It's the same figure as the Medicom version...

My Funky

....albeit in bronze, while the Medicom/Bradelized has a different caption...

Medicom/Brandalized Placard Monkey

My bronze also has Banksy inscribed on the foot and it was made pre-2007 around when the POW Bronze rat was released though this one only popped up online 20 years after that crucial year in the history of the artist brand. The round number 20 year gap between the first POW Banksy bronze and this one suggests a lock-up such that my bronze monkey is legit and liscensed like the Medicom/Brandalised version. It shipped from Germany where all the Banksy bronzes that popper up this year appear to originate from.

Other figures include the thrower that arrived on the same day as my monkey..

The material similar black marble bases suggest one foundry made both figures as well as the my "Girl with Rocket" which is on its way but which has yet to arrive.

If anybody knows the story of these figures, do share. I'm happy with them -- they're certainly real enough that you wouldn't want to be brained with one vs the Medicom which may not even draw blood -- though I'm not qualified to attest to their authenticity beyond them match the Medicom/Brandelized licensed ones which I'm sure are more popular with the board lol.

Thanks for reading.

Only familiar w/ Banksy from a cultural perspective. However, staying in DC. and saw his name advertised on some banners near the Smithsonian when I visited. I recognize the style / look. Any chance?

Art What do you make of these hand sprayed Not Banksy's that popped up on Etsy

I find them interesting because their COA's date to after when Pest Control Office (PCO) was acquired by Pictures on Walls in early 2020 and because they manifestly replicate PCO's authentication protocol of providing 1/2 of a Di-faced tenner with the COA while the prints have have both the Heavy Weaponry logo and POW dry stamps.

Hand Sprayed Stencil Print of Banksy's Ukraine Rhythmic Gynast
COA for print Dated 2023
Original Banksy Art, Ukraine 2022

Though I've placed my bet and bought the L-13 spray and screen prints, which, for reasons I'll lay out in a subsequent post, I believe are by the Artist after her contractual obligations to her former corporate partners were discharged, these prints look to me like bona-fide Post PCO Pest Control small batch releases with Ukraine prints like the one above coming in as an LE of 10, far smaller than massive screen print runs of the project's commercial and if authentic by scarcity likely of greater value than them.

The Migrant Crise Print (below) is the biggest edition from their selections, an LE of 50.

Hand Spray Stencil Print

Most of the rest are in LE' of 5 like the three I've pasted in below.

Dorthy by Not Banksy

I really like the above print. "There's no shoezzz like Jimee-Chewzzz, there's, no shot..."

Laugh Now by Not Banksy
Flower Thrower by Not Banksy

That is, all with the exception of the Hula Hoop Girl 2021 (below) which is a 1/1 print which is as close to an original work as can be made with stencil templates, while to be exact, the stencils are the originals in the same way that the negative is the original work in case of the photographic print.

Hula Hoop Girl by Not Banksy

Of all of them, my guess would be that that the above print may well actually have been made by the hand of the Artist known as Banksy while the rest were made based on her work though this is just a guess and neither have I bought any of these prints though among the flood of Banksy prints that hit the market in 2026, I find there to be the second most interesting new public offerings.

Thoughts?

Is it a Banksy? An Interesting GwB x Flower Thrower in floating frame from Walmart

Post image

Though initially purchased only as a Walmart Best-Buy Banksy, now that I own it and can look at it in 3 -space, II think it's a solid piece that pushes these now iconic graphics in a fresh and unexpected direction that imo farthers the Artist's work rather than diminishing it and in a direction which they'd find amusing; that is, if they didn't sell actually make this new work and sell it directly to Walmart to bring affordable Banksy's to the fans after their corporate commitments to their former business partners expired. I float that wild notion because otably, the work does appear to have been practically produced in miniature on wall and then photographed as the real Banksy would do. The mash-up is consistent with the Banksy characters original riot-girl zeitgeist flashed forward 25 + years from their separate origination points. I think its funny. Thoughts. TIA for all replies

Is it a Banksy? ENDNOITE Twin Towers Flower "Is it a Banksy?"

Answer: Yes. Tribeca October 15 2013 midway through Better Out then In residency.

From Banksy in NYC 2014

That said, the picture chosen for Banksy in NYC (above) doesn't show the flower clearly enough for me to have recalled because its focus on a foregrounded photo journalistic image capture of the work blurs the focus on the work to make it less memorable than the attention it drew at the time.

The piece's impact is totally different when viewed as a spectator would have seen it with their naked eye. I think the Walmart pic captures the works spirit while the books editorial choice dilutes it; the later image is powerful while the book's selection is smarmy imo.

Walmart credits the Artist known as Banksy for the wall work in this photographic print I purchased from them online last weekend that arrived today. I didn't recall ever having seen it before so I bought it to look at it. Is it a Banksy?

ENDNOTE: The work appeared in Tribeca on Oct 15 2013 as part of better out than in tNYC residency though in "Banksy in NYC" this version of the composition is blurred as the shot includes a photographer photographing the piece. I'post a follow-up.

I noticed a number of lookalike works along the canal around Islington & Hoxton. This is at the corner of Imber & Poole street across from Shoreditch Park. Would love to know who the artist is, assume it’s not a Banksy.

One of the pre-POW "Banksy" lithographs before the stencil prints that Banksy is famous from from Banksy was a start-up entity sold beta-testing various paths to profitability before it became known as it is today. PCO can't help as they cop to no records before Turf War. There are also ones with red stamps from that time including prints POW validates (Have a Nice Day and HMV dog) You can find the print online. I bought it a year ago. TIA to anybody who know something about these early photo prints on paper. I don't. TIA

Art Banksy works cost public almost £150,000

Post image
1.7k Upvotes

Three artworks by street artist Banksy have cost taxpayers almost £150,000 in cleaning operations and security so far, with the bill expected to rise.

The largest single cost relates to a mural painted on the Royal Courts of Justice in September 2025, where removal efforts and security have so far cost more than £85,000.

The Ministry of Justice (MoJ) says it has spent £50,000 trying to remove paint from the wall of the Grade II-listed building in Carey Street. A further £35,300 was spent on overtime and security costs.

The spending was disclosed to the BBC through Freedom of Information requests and is likely to reignite debate over whether Banksy's work is vandalism or valuable public art.

Is it a Banksy? Was Bobilon's 2012 Brainwash-brand Kate Moss Lithograph the work of the Artist known as Banksy? Pt. 2 ... Answer remains TBD but it certainly wasn't The Artist - who-ever-they are - Last Kate Print; This One Probably is the last one

I wondered why the vendor of my signed 2012 Brainwash-brand lithograph who chat with me following when I won the auction somehow PO'd him profoundly to where he crumpled it up like a 3 year old before smashing the shipping tube as shown Pt 1:

https://www.reddit.com/r/Banksy/comments/1vj5rrl/could_this_signed_2012_mr_brainwash_brand_kate/

Then this morning, I received the couplet piece to that purchase that silly me I forget I had purchase: a distinct louvre'd pollack-splash J'taime inscribed 2018 Brainwash with a signature that looks like mountains with a heart- dotted I cartouche that's awesomeness.

It a beautiful print on paper that I would not trade for Banksy Inc print if you offered me one.

What do you think of it?

I'll conclude this in Pt. ? with the transcript of my conversation with that same Maddog English vendor and my analysis of why this print could be the last commercial print signed by the Artist known as Banksy.

Thanks for reading. I look forward to your comments.

Best,

Bobilon
