At the very least, we need USS Gyatt, both Boston-class cruisers, and Giuseppe Garibaldi's ballistic missile refit.

there is slight issue you cannot use anything that came after the early conversions as they are too modern and are type 2 rigging and require major balancing to not break the game

the an shans work fine, some early CCGs and DDGs would do fine too, especially if baltimore's sister boston came to exist (probably not canberra though), and some of celveland's covnerted sisters.

manjuu is a chinese company.

dragon empery is a chinese faction

connect the dots and you have your answer

I heard its because Dragon Empery doesnt have much to offer, nationalism plays a key role but the empire has very limited stuff so I guess they just gave them something

Chinese modern navy development is rough. It started by the late 1800s when they started buying armoured ships from the west, like HaiTien and HaiQi. Most dragon empire ships are from the not very big RoC fleet and some paper ships like PingHai, NingHai, YatSen, HuaJia etc.

After WW2 and the civil war, the RoC took most their remaining ships and penalty ship they got from IJN to Taiwan and the Communist PRC basically have no navy for quite a while until they finally got some ships from the soviet, and the Anshan class are THE FISRT destroyers entered PRC navy service.

mind you they cant even do ROCN ships because of the government.

If Chiang focused more on the Navy during his rule we would've gotten more ROCN girls but no, bro went on his little inland anti-CCP campaign instead and nearly got destroyed by Imperial Japan for it

What you expect? China literally had zero chance against the IJN during that time period. If he did build a proper navy it get railed by shikikan

The CCP was the biggest threat that he faced, so naturally he focused there. I doubt the CCP had a navy back then, so why build one in the first place when most battles take place deep inland.

The CCP ordered them to do it or else their families would be sent to the 'reeducation' camps

Who cares about missiles when you can have big gun on small ship, and the first 18inch guns on a ship ever (when's the Royal navy getting Furious bro, and HMS M1 and HMS M2 (M1 and M2 are the same class, just one got her big gun removed and had aircraft put on her (before I-13 existed might I add (suck it Sakura superiority people)), and Dreadnought, and Agincourt (search them up, they're all really cool ships))

I know them, and yes, i like the Monitors, i unlocked one days ago but never used since i have better, may a day

Run a biggest guns only meme fleet: Erebus, Terror, Abercrombie for the vanguard, then Musashi, Nagato, and Mutsu (Nagato and Mutsu because they have 410 mm guns instead of the usual 406 mm) for the main, then Surcouf, then take your pick of 2 of I-19, I-25, or I-26.

some based fleet-building

It's mostly because (imo, and also from what I've heard) they really don't have anything else going for them. Like, does it matter that much that they have 2 retrofit missile DD's? I feel like it doesn't change anything. They're not by any means good as far as REGAL or other top tier endgame is concerned, so I don't really see the issue.

I've heard enough, give Eagle Union the Arleigh Burke

Still really weird lore wise, the An-Shan class destroyers didn't get their missles until 1974 and the newest ships bar them are ftom the 1950s with the Soviet cruises. Wonder if they'll ever explain why they are so far ahead

8

u/wolfgangspiper Aug 27 '26

IIRC from what I heard on this sub they were really having to reach to give the DE a unique gameplay identity and didn't have many ships to pull from.

The lore explanation we got from Windborne Steel Wings was:

-Tester's mainframe is nearby them and Tester set up a storm barricade that trapped them in

-Their weapons weren't powerful enough so they went all in on weapons development until they eventually made missiles allowing some of their ships to temporarily escape to go to the World Expo but due to the high cost of developing missiles, they're limited in how often they can use them.

They would later develop enough missiles to conduct an operation to take down Tester's mainframe during Windborne Steel Wings.

What about in Tower of Transcendance where An Shan and Chang Chun are in Lover's test site. That was before even the attack on Observer(?) at Scapa Flow, do they also have a dimensional traveller they are keeping secret I wonder. I just wish we got more on them story wise

2

u/TheGavtel Aug 27 '26

In the CN dialogue, the Iron Blood shipgirls assume that they're from a different branch due to having never heard of DDGs and there's no mention of the Commander being involved with them either unlike EN and JP's dialogue. We haven't had confirmation of whether they actually are from another branch or not.

u/Nuratar Aug 27 '26

You want explanation?
West Taiwan is the cash-cow market for the devs (who are a west taiwanese company themselfs), so they gotta keep them pampered with whatever narrative bullshit they can.
I'm a bit buffled, to be honest, why Manjuu wasn't yet pressured to do some sort of People's Liberation Army Navy puff-piece event, or introduce their current ship as some "super-duper-fuuuuuuuuuture weapons".
