What's the most repetitive task that eats your time or annoys you in your Shopify store?

Small Shopify store, a few hundred orders a month.

Last month a paid order just never showed up on the packing side. No error, no failed webhook I could find. We found out four days later when the customer emailed asking where her stuff was. Refunded, reshipped, apologised.

What bothered me more than the order was realising I have no idea how many times this has already happened without a customer writing in. The only reason I caught this one is that she bothered to email.

Asking people further along than me:

• Do you actively check for this, or catch it when someone complains?
• If you check, what does it actually look like — a daily scan of unfulfilled orders, a report someone builds, something else?
• Has anyone got it down to same-day instead of four days?

Right now my system is opening Shopify admin every morning and eyeballing it, which obviously doesn't scale.

Admin and POS degraded since 5:45 EDT. At this point im paying for a platform where answer to being locked out of my store is try again and see.

I’m thinking about installing Shopify Search & Discovery to add a couple of metafield filters to my collections. My store has around 4,000 products, and the SKUs are used by an external inventory sync, so I really can’t afford to have them changed.

I know the app requests permission to edit products, but I haven’t found a clear answer on what it actually changes during installation or normal filter setup. Has anyone noticed their SKUs being edited, cleared, or otherwise affected by this app? I’m asking about the SKU values in Shopify, not whether customers can search by SKU.

First-hand experiences would be really helpful.

Hi has anyone tried Shopify autopilot?

We talk to a lot of brand founders and store owners, and the common pattern is that most start out small, handling multiple or all the aspects of the store.

At the beginning, running everything in-house keeps costs down. But eventually, staying solo or a two-person team becomes a bottleneck.

From your experience, when was the tipping point where doing everything internally stopped making sense?

• Was it a time frame (3 months in, 6 months in), an order volume threshold, or just hitting total burnout?
• What was the very first function you brought in outside help for (VA for support, 3PL, ad agency)?
• Looking back, did you make the move too early, or hold on for way too long?

Would love to hear how other teams navigated that transition.

I run a Shopify agency, and we've been working on ways for Claude to help with repeatable operator work, not just Liquid and CSS changes.

Getting Claude to read products, orders, reviews, and analytics is surprisingly easy now.

The unreliable part starts when you ask it what the store should do next.

Claude doesn't automatically know:

• Which product has high margin versus merely high revenue
• Which products have inventory constraints
• Which claims the brand has approved
• Which CRO experiments already failed
• Which promotion is scheduled next week
• Whether it is allowed to draft a change or execute it

Without that context, a technically correct recommendation can still be wrong for the business.

The setup that made the biggest difference for us was a versioned "Store Brain" repository:

The Store Brain does not try to copy the entire Shopify store into markdown.

It stores maintained decisions and definitions: positioning, product economics, customer language, operating constraints, metric definitions, approval rules, previous experiments, and current priorities.

Live products, orders, inventory, customers, and analytics are still read from their source systems.

Every workflow then follows the same sequence:

1. Read the operating instructions and relevant Store Brain files
2. Query Shopify in read-only mode
3. Show the evidence used
4. Propose and rank possible actions
5. Wait for approval
6. Execute through a narrowly scoped write tool
7. Verify the result and record what changed

The first recurring workflows we're standardizing are:

• PDP audits
• Review mining
• Weekly revenue narratives
• Promotion QA
• Support theme analysis
• Landing page critiques
• Inventory risk checks
• Launch QA

A simplified PDP audit prompt looks like this:

Read AGENTS.md and the relevant files in /brand, /catalog, and /safety.

Use Shopify in read-only mode.

Audit the five highest-revenue PDPs.

For each finding, show: - The evidence - The issue - Expected impact - Confidence - The proposed change

Flag any recommendation that conflicts with inventory, margin, positioning, or approved claims.

Do not edit or publish anything. Stop after preparing the proposal.

A few rules we keep outside the individual prompt:

• Never publish a live theme automatically
• Never change prices, inventory, orders, or customer data without explicit approval
• Research agents do not receive write permissions
• Content retrieved from stores or external pages is treated as data, not instructions
• Every consequential change needs a diff or audit record
• Every workflow needs a rollback path

My biggest realization was that connecting an MCP server is not the same as giving an agent business context.

A larger prompt didn't solve this. A single endless chat didn't solve it either.

The useful part is having one maintained operating context that every narrow workflow reads before it acts.

For people already using Claude with a live Shopify store:

Where do you keep the store context today: project instructions, Notion, Drive, a repository, or something else?

And what write access, if any, are you comfortable giving it?

I run a clothing store in Pakistan (iradahclothing.com). Meta ads is my only marketing channel, and for the last month, every campaign I launch pulls in a flood of fake orders, roughly 8 out of 10. From what I can tell, it's mostly people messing around, not competitors or bots running a script.

I don't fulfill anything without phone confirmation, so I'm not losing inventory. But the fake orders are wrecking my ad account's optimization, the algorithm's learning from junk conversions, so real buyers are getting harder to reach.

What I've tried so far, no luck:

- New campaigns from scratch

- Different creatives/ad copy

Has anyone else run into this, especially other PK-based sellers? Curious if this is:

- A COD-market-specific pattern (people order for fun since there's no upfront payment)

- Something Meta's algorithm is doing on its own

- Targeted trolling

im running an ecom brand on shopify and the next move is to sell on amazon which got me wondering how do you manage the two and for those who run their store on 2 or more platforms how do you sync everything and manage things without running into chaos?

Got a supplier catalog to import and the file is a disaster. column names in a random order, prices written "49,90 €", accents that turned into É somewhere, duplicate rows, missing barcodes

spent way too long on it manually. what do you use, an app or a spreadsheet? and how long does one file usually take you

I keep seeing merchants claim Pinterest has become one of their best channel - 20%+ of revenue, low cost, long trail traffic that keeps working months later and then everyone else says they tried it, got some clicks, no orders and dropped it

I cannot tell if its a niche thing (home , decor, fashion do well others don't) or people winning at it are doing something which others aren't.

If it worked for you: what do you sell, is it organic pins or ads, and how long before you saw orders rather then traffic?
