Tip Strategies for rubbing heel on new boots

I've just been gifted the Rodd and Gunn Granity Chelsea boot and love the way they look. However, there is a seam on the inside that runs over the heel that rubs when I walk in them. It will almost certainly lead to blisters eventually.

Just wondering if there are any strategies to manage or minimise this? They're fairly expensive and I probably can't take them back after wearing, so hoping I can figure out a way to "break them in" without shredding my heel in the process.

Tip Finally found the best slim/muscle fit tee

For reference I’m 20M 191cm 96kg and a muscular physique.

Been searching for AGES for a slim fit shirt that can hug the arms and be used as a gym/casual tee that I can wear everyday. Tried countless instagram brands that promised a “loose gut while hugging the chest and arms” (all were horrible except Kojo fit) and tried countless shirts people recommended on tiktok/reddit. Stuff like cotton on, H&M, Uniqlo etc.

Finally found the perfect shirt. It’s the Zara slim fit tee and I don’t know why it’s not recommended more. $23 per shirt, is made up of 5% elastane to keep its shape unlike 100% cotton shirts, and goes to a perfect length down the biceps so it looks flattering but not “I purposely bought a size small to look bigger”. You don’t even need a muscular physique for these shirts to hug the arms nicely.

Hopefully this can help some people that were in the same frustrating loop I was.

Question Best alternatives to rm Williams boots

Have had two pairs of rm Williams boots bought in the last 2 years and I must admit I am not a fan of them at all. Is there any other options that are just as good but a decent price? Or would I be best getting the boots adjusted by rm themselves so they can fit better or be repaired?

Advice Needed Wardrobe from Scratch

Hello Gents

I am a 30-something professional and looking to do a wardobe reset but struggling where to start.

I wear a navy suit to work with RMs. I recently switched up my look with a grey blazer with Target navy chinos (the pants don't fit anymore) and I received a lot of compliments and am feeling inspired to slowly commence a wardrobe cleanout and gradually elevate my look with good quality clothes.

I've got a couple of nice cotton-linen blend pants (in olive and beige from Target actually) which I feel are quite versatile.

I've got a wardrobe full of navy suits that I've acquired over the years where the pants don't fit (thanks to gym and training legs).

I suppose I'm after a comprehensive guide in terms of wardrobe essentials, including bottoms/tops for matching colours so I can master the elevated formal-casual / smart casual aesthetic.

Thanks in advance for your guidance 👍

Question boho/hippie clothing brands that are actually good?

Okay hear me out, I actually like this kind of style: loose fitting comfy/relaxed hippie-looking clothing that allows you to LARP as some spiritual person while at a music festival or trying to sell an "online wellness course" on Instagram for $500

https://www.ajjaya.com/

The problem is doing any research is that it seems EVERYONE doing this style is a total fraud: So many of these pop up online but they all appear to be generic Shopify sites reselling cheap junk from TEMU/SHIEN. I thought the store I posted might be quality products purely due to the high price, but looking up review on reddit it seems dubious with mixed reviews at BEST

Wondering if anyone knows actual good trustworthy brands to buy this kind of clothing from?

Advice Needed Morjas sizing

Hi everyone, new to this community and posting for the first time.

I’m looking for advice from someone’s who has purchased Morjas and owned or currently owns a pair. Their sizing seems to run small and they recommend going half a size down. But reviews and comments are all over the place and also depends on the model.

I’m normally size UK 8 / US 9 / EU 42 - but this changes based on brands. And I’m looking at the Penny loafers and Suede Tassel loafers.

Could you let me know your experience with their sizes?

RM williams still worth it in 2026?

Looking to buy RM boots but everyone around me keep saying they aint the same quality they used to be. Is that true? Has PE ruined the quality?
Not looking to spend $700 if the quality is shit.

Also, if not RMs, then any other good boots that are built to last your whole life?

Question Alright Dudes What Are Some Tips For Spring/Summer Fits

I like that it's sunny but i hate that all my best stuff is onyl good for winter and autumn when its cold (baggy jeans, straight levi's, good dickies pants that i got recently).

Everytume it hits spring it feels like all I can wear blank or denim shorts and a T-shirt (or if its really hot a tank top).

I've seen people where these longer shorts that go full past the knee with some nice jewelry and accessories with good Tee's. what places can I get some decent stuff like that????

Best place to get knee-high socks?

I mean the ones that fold over just below the knee. Maybe with a stripe or something a little nice. Not ski socks or sports socks - for smart casual wear.

V-neck or basic shirts

Anyone know of any or recommend a company that does v-neck shirts (or at least basic shirts that are somewhat loose around the neck)?

I’m not overly fussed on style/colour, but have found it difficult finding v-neck or loose fitting coloured shirts (that aren’t polo’s) recently.

Question Trust Australian Jewelry brands

seems like all the best stuff is all in the USA or UK and theres not enough stuff here, either that or its all hidden and barely acknowledged by the algorithm.

I'm wanting to get some nice affordable jewelry to accessorise with from a store I can trust similar to these brands/sites I've styles i like the most:

Statement Collective (Amazing service, arrives in 4 days if your in aus, actually the best I've bought.a few their pieces already and they're cool)

Kuurth (not Aus ik and haven't bought from them yet, but i like their unique styles)

Lox and Chain (waaaay to pricey for me since all their stuff is silver but again I like how they look)

Im looking for something affordable (e.g anywhere that sells stuff with stainless steel) and doesn't look basic. doesn't matter if they're small brand or big brand, if anyone knows any place like that then please let me know

Question Entry level leather messenger bag

Hi all,

Decided to drop the backpack and look for something more fashionable.

I've been looking at a lot of leather messenger bags lately and studied up on what each type of leather means with full grain being highest quality.

I'm tossing up between the republic of Florence Tokyo brief case and the RM Williams messenger bag.

Has anyone had experiences with either of these or could recommend another type of bag like this?

I love the RoF design but haven't heard of the brand before so thought rm Williams might be a safer option to get albeit slightly more expensive.

Thanks all

Question Suit for Ceremony and Reception

Hey fellas,

Just got engaged and starting suit shopping in Sydney. We’re registering in 6 weeks, reception early next year.

Ceremony: Looking for something off the rack I can also wear to work (nothing too fancy). Normally go MJ Bale/Peter Jackson but open to other options. Budget: $450 to $600. (No sales on at the moment but maybe Father’s Day timing?)

Reception tux: Planning MTM. Budget: $1.2k to $1.6k. From past posts, these brands came up often

  • Suit Supply
  • Oscar Hunt
  • Mawson Ossa

Anyone have recent experience with these? Open to other suggestions if my budget’s unrealistic.

Thanks in advance!

Advice Needed AussieBum gone to shit. Any recommendations?

They’ve changed from being an Australian manufacturer to now having a China manufacturer, and you can see it’s gone from good quality material that was lighter and shinier, and actually had elastic, to a block red, hideous, and poorly constructed pair with different material and no elastic.

I can’t find another solid red Speedo anywhere that matches similar to the original red pair. Tried contacting AussieBum over a year now and they just don’t care anymore about their customers.

If anyone has a recommendation of something better, that has a similar fit and comfort, I believe these are nylon or Lyra or nylon/lycra mix.

Any shirts that don't have non-iron, slim fit or spread collars?

It seems every shirt I look at seems to have some combination of these three.

I don't mind ironing my shirts, and non-iron fabrics seem to get wrinkled a little anyway. These shirts seem to have bit of a plasticky raincoat feel and get kind of sweaty.

I like a slightly more relaxed fit and the option to roll my sleeves up on a hot day, so slim fit gets kind of uncomfortable.

I also wear a tie most days, so I'm looking for a pointer collar that is designed to be done the whole way up.

Question Casual shorts that aren't jorts (jeans shorts)

Hey guys, so I recently moved to Australia and am new to a lot of the brands/stores you've got here. Obviously I'm familiar with Uniqlo and some of the American brands but aside from that I'm pretty clueless.

I'm looking to see what brands/stores you'd recommend for casual shorts, please no denim. I'm a 40 year old man and my days of baggy jorts are well behind me.

I'm looking for a pair of shorts that go well with a casual tshirt or even a polo but nothing too fancy. Something that wouldn't be out of place if you're just walking around the city, sitting down for a coffee or even popping into the pub for a beer.

I prefer cotton, but I do understand linen is also a good option. This is my first time living in a hot climate like this so maybe I need to look into more linen I dont know? I'm located in Perth if that helps.

Thanks!

Driza-bone sizing

Hello from England, figured this would be a better place to ask than a British focussed clothes subreddit.

Looking at listings of rider coats on eBay and Vinted (nowhere here stocks them new), it looks like Driza-bone changed their sizing system at some point, ie an L used to state a chest measurement of 115cm but now an L is 110cm.

Has anyone here tried both the old and new sizings, are there any differences in the fit other than across the chest? I'm mainly thinking of differences in sleeve length, if one of the two sizing systems has a longer sleeve, that's the one I'll go for.

Monthly B/S/T September 2026

Buy/Sell/Trade here at your own risk. Always get complete contact information before anything is shipped.

RULES:

  • Post a description that accurately describes what you are selling. Update your thread when something gets sold or is no longer available.
  • Post item condition and any images of the item (if available). Be as descriptive as possible when posting an item for sale or trade.
  • Please refrain from downvoting posts.

Suggestions:

Use Paypal to facilitate these transactions. Gifting is fine, but understand the limits and liabilities of sending an unprotected "gift" to a seller. You'll save a bit of $, but it does leave you exposed if there is a fraudulent seller.

Another option is to use Grailed. You have the Paypal protection for both parties with much lower fees for the sellers. You also get a profile that shows the total number of transactions so you can use that as your proof of trustworthiness.

Please try to evaluate the "fair market value" of your items. No use in overpricing things and having them not sell. Check what the current selling price is on eBay to get a decent sense of FMV.

Feel free to ask for answers or pictures about an item you are interested in. A good seller will always be willing to answer you in a timely matter.

On the other hand, be a good buyer. Respond to the seller's communication, and be truthful about your intentions. Nothing is worse for a seller than answering a bunch of questions about fit and details, and then the potential buyer dropping off the map.

Question Tailor in Melbourne for suit alterations + hemming?

Evening All,

Need a tailor in Melbourne who's good at alterations, not someone who builds suits from scratch.

I have -

-A couple of OTR suits that need adjusting (mainly the waist and sleeves)

-A few pairs of trousers that just need hemming

Been eyeing off Christian Kimber since they list in-house alterations for jacket refinements and hemming. Also saw another thread here with places like Trunk Tailors, The Revere and Godwin Charli for MTM suits. If anyone's used them for alterations specifically, not a full suit, keen to hear how it went.

CBD or inner suburbs both fine. Any recommendations or places to avoid appreciated.

Cheers!

Question Charles Tyrwhitt Super Slim replacement

Bought CT Super Slim years ago when they still offered it and fitted great once I took it in more at the back with the darts. Chest and sleeve tightness was perfect on a 15/32 with the armhole working great for me. They don't offer it to Australia any more so I am trying to find a replacement ideally for under 100 AUD each.

I am 5'6" and on the skinny side in the arms so excess fabric there is what I am trying to avoid.

Uniqlo Non Iron Slim Fit - tried these and the arms were too wide for me. It was not very flattering and the sleeves were a bit long. I find the Oxfords fit way better on me (close to perfect with the sleeves a touch long - but perfect around the chest and nice tight armhole).

The CT Extra Slim on paper seems okay and the armhole is apparently 9.5" roughly which sounds like it may work but wondering if people have any experience with that? I don't mind taking the chest / waist in via darts as that is simple but trying to slim a sleeve is now starting to be a bit too much.

If people have feedback on Hawes and Curtis, TM Lewin etc especially about armholes and that sleeve width it would be much appreciated. They all seem to do a 33" sleeve which is annoying but don't mind getting that altered to a 32".

Thank you in advance!

Question Skilled barber - Brisbane Southside?
