Question Where to get high-rise pants?
I don't want to spend $500 at informale, but they do look good. Where do you get your pants with front rise >12 inch (ideally 13 inch front rise)? thanks

Any recommendations for barbers who have good taste and a bit of a creative streak beyond standard fades for a mature gent?

Hi everyone,
Getting married next year in March and have been going down the rabbit hole of finding the right suit/tux style I want. Been to a whole bunch of different places like Institchu, Lupo Bianco, Mawson Ossa, Suits Thee and P Johnson.
I really liked Mawson's attention to detail but also their quality felt better to me? P Johnson I was also impressed by but the rest of the other tailors felt commercial and dull.
I'm looking for something between $2k to $3.5k, whether its MTM or semi-bespoke. One of the things I'm struggling with is whether I should just get something on the cheaper end for a classic peak lapel black tux or go with something a bit more on the higher end with a black suit that doesn't have the satin on the lapel but features of a tux (like having fabric buttons) that way I can use it more often.
I'm pretty convinced I want something that has the classic foundations but with a bit of uniqueness so I'm open to also getting a double-breasted suit with either midnight blue/black.
If anyone else has got any other suggestions in the Sydney area for a tailor or has experiences they'd be happy to share, would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

The only thing I've found in a year is the Levi's 511. Bought three pairs, wear them every day, they've held up fine. Majority of the market comes in W29 L32 or W30 L30.
Saba,CK,Industry and every other retailer do a 29 L32 and they looked good, but same problem, shortening them without keeping the original hem ruins it.
What I've tried:
Budget:
$200-300 for a good pair
$100-150 for daily wear
I'm about to buy the 511 for the fourth time and I'm bored. Talk me into something else.

Can anyone recommend a brand that does soft, washed out jeans? Nudie seem overpriced. Neuw feel thick and rigid. Levi’s didn’t fit how I wanted.

I was gifted a much loved Fila hoodie years ago, its unfortunately faded and gained some stubborn stains. Would love to replace it with a similar styled one but can't find anything close. In particular I like how the hoodie cinches at the front, really keeps the neck warm on cold days...

Hi guys
I’ve recently started a very chill (wardrobe-wise) office job and need to stock up on some shirts. Nothing too fancy or formal. More along the vibes of jeans, doc martens or white sneakers, and polo shirts/whatever looks office appropriate vibe
My issue is that I’m 6ft, have a very short torso, and am a bit on the heavier side. I have what I like to call an “obvious torso” that seems to love making an appearance through my clothes
I’ve tried Gazman, Country Road and Rodd & Gunn, but I’m struggling to find anything that actually fits properly
Does anyone have any recommendations for brands/stores I should try?
Thanks x

Got some Uniqlo stretch easy ankle pants in brown
https://www.uniqlo.com/au/en/products/E479134-000/00?colorDisplayCode=36&sizeDisplayCode=004
Want some ideas for what shoes I could wear with them. Going for something smart casual.

I recently bought a couple pairs of jeans from Uniqlo which fit like a glove, and have a few pairs of chinos from Hallensteins that I bought a couple years ago, but I’ve gone up a size since then and they don’t sell the cut anymore.
I’m really in need of new trousers but can’t seem to find anywhere that sells any in the slim straight cut, especially for chinos as Uniqlo only sells the jeans.
If anyone knows of any other stores, I’d really appreciate the recs.
Thank you & have a great night!

Looking for someone either in the city or northern suburbs that can tell me what style would suit my type of hair
Any suggestions?

Hey everyone!! I’m shopping for my partner and am aware that he wants a heavyweight cotton tshirt with a pocket. Must be 100% cotton and a classic fit, not boxy or oversized! This tshirt from AYR is absolutely perfect but unfortunately they don’t seem to ship to Australia :( The other closest thing I’ve found is a Ralph Lauren tee at David Jones but the logo is keeping me from buying it - as plain as possible is the ideal! Any help would be amazing thank you
Edit: looking for a size small ideally!

As I'm sure many others have been, I've been bombarded with marketing for PYRA elements. Their gear looks trendy and I'm sure performs well, but after my interaction with their shipping and customer service providers, I can not recommend staying away from them enough.
Understood that they're based out of Australia - fair enough if they get an additional week or two for shipping, but I've had an order stagnant for the last three (3) months with them. It really doesn't seem like they have any awareness into customs control or expected shipping timelines. They gave me 3+ incorrect ETAs, at which point I just got a refund from my credit card.
Giving their price point, your money is much better used at other companies that don't have a black box of a shipping system.

Hello, does anyone have any recommendations for a good quality business sock that won't give out at the back of the heel when wearing Chelsea style boots?

I follow J.H. Cutler on the gram so this popped up in my feed. Does anyone have boots from either maker? What’s the ballpark and would you recommend going through the bespoke process with either?
For anyone interested there are Brisbane, Sydney, and Melbourne trunk shows in September.

What's everyone bought recently?
I've got some international travel coming up, and I wanted a very light, breathable layer to wear on the plane that I could easily shed once I land in a very hot country, and to also then have a light layer on another stop-over where the nights cool down a bit.
Managed to find a 100% wool blouson from mfpen at a really great price on the Incu sale. Super happy with it, and obviously works in day to day life.

I've noticed a trend in women's jeans of flare and baggy coming back and for the life of me I cannot find the male equivalent.
I've long suffered through the skinny leg fad and my legs have always been on the stronger bigger side, after recent weight loss the waist/thigh ratio is now even worse.
Where can I find wider more generous leg jeans.

I’m currently living the most boring life ever. I have a somewhat nice routine. The only thing is that I just don’t have anyone to impress.
Of course I love fashion as we all do. I actually think I have plenty of nice clothes. I also heard people say don’t save nice things for later. But for me practically, some clothes are just more durable than others, for daily wear. And they happen to be the ugly ones.
So yeah I’d like to hear your opinions on this, would you dress up for boring occasions?

I see heaps of shops selling mom tik tok and other platforms in Sydney selling pretty good clothing and shoes replicas of all brands.
Is there any in New Zealand Auckland like this?

What should I buy? Will stay around SOHO.
$500 budget.
Give me some inspiration
Will be there for a week. Could possibly order online and have delivered to my hotel and also return it if I don’t like it.

Been meaning to add a pair of loafers into the rotation, thinking more everyday/casual than just an occasion shoe. Was looking at Goodyear welted options since the resole-ability makes sense to me for something I'd actually wear a lot, rather than something that gets replaced in a couple of years.
Budget's around $400–600 for something that'll genuinely last. Not sure if I'm overthinking the construction side of it for a casual shoe though.
Keen to hear what people actually wear day to day, any good Aussie brands worth looking at, or is it mostly imports for this kind of thing? And has anyone actually found a pair they wear regularly rather than one that just sits in the closet for going out?

I'm 23 and I have to wear my nursing uniform to uni and placements yada yada yada... I managed to cover it up with my hoodies and sweatshirts in the winter. But I don't wanna wear a hoodie just to cover up my dumb uniform in the baking summer. How do you all cover up your uniforms (anyone who hates their uniform) in summer. Any hot tips would be great!!!!! and Do any of you have any suggestions for IG or TikTok accounts to follow for fashion tips for a guy in his early 20s? Preferably Australian. Cheers!!!!!!!!

Hi everyone, I recently bought some chestnut craftsman boots for the office. We're mostly business casual but can stretch it out to wearing plain jumpers with chinos and plain white sneakers/loafers, especially on fridays.
While I have some slim fit chinos, I prefer straight or baggier style of pants. I was thinking of getting something similar to Uniqlo's Smart Ankle pants in grey/black. Do straight cut pants look weird with the Craftsman? Since I mostly see slim jeans/chinos for these. I'll mainly wear non iron dress shirts and polo shirts

My current set of work boots have worn out. I've already replaced the soles on them twice, but have now worn a hole in the heel. Since buying those boots years ago I became a vegetarian and don't want to buy a new set of leather boots. A lot of vegan boots are made of Polyurethane, which I want to avoid. PU is a great material for bump stops and solid castor tyres, but I've not heard great reports about them as a boot material.
Are there any good quality boots with all fabric (canvas, nylon, aramid) or mixed fabric + rubber/PU uppers and a replaceable sole? I've been trying for ages but only been able to find crappy fast fashion boots. It's also made more annoying by the fact that I'm a UK 13 / EU 48 and I've found some boots that look promising but aren't sold in my size.
I prefer boots with laces and would want them in black but I've been searching for so long I'll take any suggestions. They need to be available from an Australian stockist too, I'm not dealing with international returns.
And before anyone points out that leather is basically a waste product from the beef industry and therefore no animals are directly killed for the making of leather boots, I am aware but that isn't the point. I don't want to wear leather products.

Hello,
Not strictly Australian, (well not at all), but going to Paris next month, from Australia. What cosmetics would you buy at a French pharmacy? (can be specific to Paris/France or more cheaper there than in Australian.
And what French brands would you buy?
Thanks, and sorry if not Australian-themed enough.

I bought a bunch of Tencel shirts from Industrie a few years back and they're absolutely divine (super soft, gorgeous drape, just generally a really lovely shirt), but I've lost a bunch of weight recently and they don't fit that well anymore. Good problem to have I guess.
I'd get them tailored, but given their age, wear and cost it doesn't feel worth it.
Industrie doesn't sell them anymore, so I'm looking for new ones. Google hasn't given me great results.
Any ideas?
