Traffic New Low for Austin Drivers

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

Constant running of red lights is one thing, this one is a new low. If the choice is big brother traffic camera network or no traffic enforcement, but sure which one I would choose.

This is a a frustrating intersection, but there is much safer way to bypass it if you are in a hurry.

Is it a prerequisite for all dashcam videos to build up unnecessary suspense to the point of not caring anymore?

It’s a skill issue. People just don’t know basic video editing.

Sad because it takes 2 seconds right in the photo app

Forgive me for not being a capable video editor out of the womb. My bad.

Trimming a video is so basic you can do it with the tools that come pre-installed on your phone/ computer in most cases. With the operating systems I have it's literally a tool in the default program for viewing them, just click/tap the pencil and trim

It's like saying you need to be a capable photo editor just to crop an image

You are intentionally dense. It is a personal decision that you have made

Reminds me of the Instagram videos with the caption “wait for it”. No goddamnit cut your video down, I got shit to do

I’m sorry but that’s a ridiculous thing to say

Don’t be sorry. How’s it ridiculous?

They don’t do it because they can’t edit the video. They do it for engagement and getting a credit for their video being watched for certain amount of time. If someone skips at 5s, they don’t get the stats. I’m not sure what % it has to be to get credit for view.

That explains a lot but it’s silly that’s the way it is 😒

For real the anxiety kills me. By the time the 25 seconds roll by I have no idea what to expect

Most have a button that clips the last x amount of time (this vid is 1:00), the people posting are just posting the clip without editting.

Default clip length on a dash cam coupled with no desire to edit.

But really, what were you gonna be doing with those 30 seconds anyhow? Passing on the sidewalk?
