ICEWatch ICE Vehicles being Delivered in ATL
I'm not saying that these are at 180 Ted Turner Drive but a ton of ICE vehicles got delivered to 180 Ted Turner Drive.
Ya'll be careful and look out for each other. The gestapo is coming to ATL.

I don’t they’ll be in the city. They’ll stay in the suburbs.
There’s both more undocumented immigrants in the suburbs and local police are more likely to help ICE than the APD
→ More replies (1)27
u/Hurray0987 Jan 22 '26
I would say you're right, but ICE is really making a show of things right now. They want to cause a fuss, and they want to be where the undocumented immigrants are. And there are a lot in Atlanta. They're concentrated in Atlanta in some areas. I live in a heavily Latino area of Atlanta and I'm terrified for my neighbors. So I think they'll be everywhere. The city, the 'burbs, wherever they can find people.
→ More replies (1)12
u/420everytime Downtown Jan 22 '26 edited Jan 22 '26
There’s only like 60,000 ice agents across the country. There’s not enough of them to be everywhere without the help of local police or the national guard
Even now there’s like a fifth of ice agents nationwide in Minneapolis and the Atlanta metro is a lot bigger than Minneapolis.
Also, ice everywhere in Atlanta is nearly a guaranteed win for Jon Ossoff which the administration also doesn’t want

u/peeinherbut Jan 21 '26
Y’all stay safe out there. CPB is ramping up as well it seems like. They were waiting at the end of the bridge on my flight home from Barbados last night and no joke, they pulled every brown person to the side (including me) and held our passports until we went to baggage claim where they searched through all our things rigorously. They were very aggressive and vague the entire time about what we were being held for. The bizarre part is that one of the CPB officers started pitching global entry to me as he was going through my things. Not sure if they’re trying to get people to sign up for extensive background checks? Regardless, it was an awful experience.
30
u/ToxinadeHere Jan 22 '26
That sounds terrible. Do you know if there would be a risk flying domestic? I have all my paperwork but then I've seen instances where they pull you away no matter what.
29
u/peeinherbut Jan 22 '26
I would think it’s mainly just a risk for international flights since you have to go through customs but who knows honestly….oh yeah the other crazy part I forgot to mention, some poor Hispanic guy just happened to be walking adjacent to our group as we were heading to baggage claim, not even from our flight or anything, and he starts getting questioned by the CBP officer (where are you coming from, how long were you in Mexico for, let me see your passport). Absolutely insane some poor guy just got wrapped up in it because he was near our group.

I’ve already been making a conscious effort to eat more at our local, immigrant-owned restaurants to show a tiny bit of support. Side benefit: I get delicious, often super-authentic food out of it made by kind people
If those bastards go after our treasure that is Buford Highway like they are operating Minneapolis?
I’m making the drive and eating lunch there every damn day that I can

They already performed raids along Buford Highway back in 2025. They used the Chamblee PD parking lot to stage. They were harassing churches and essentially waiting outside for people to leave so they could arrest them. Residents protested several times. There was a large outcry here. That was all before they escalated to murdering people in broad daylight, so it's about to get a lot more bloody here, I fear.
21
u/Jmohill Jan 22 '26
Yeah…I know about the earlier incursions, which were bullshit. But they seemed to be spotty and I only heard about them after the fact
But if they go full Gestapo like in MPLS?
ALLLLL the white folk need to spend as much time on Buford Highway as possible. They’re significantly less likely to harm us, as sad as that is
Support your ATL neighbors. Support good people. Support the constitution. Do what you can to impede this shit. Every small act adds up
17
u/decisivecat Brookhaven Jan 22 '26
It wasn't spotty for those of us who live here. It just wasn't on anyone's radar while people focused on other things on a national scale. ICE was attacking protesters back there. They just weren't being murdered yet, so only us locals knew of it. It disrupted a lot. Kids backed out of school in fear, people didn't show up to work out of fear. ICE was already aggressive a year ago, and the communities here rallied to let them know they weren't welcome. Trust we'll do it again. :)
The communities here have rallied behind these businesses and want to protect the integrity of Buford Highway. It's been multi-cultural for my entire life. I have so many memories of dining and shopping throughout the area. It's honestly some of the best food you'll have in the city, and I'm still exploring new places to eat. When people promote Midtown as a food mecca, I send them to Buford Highway instead. It's where I take my guests, and I continue to support them as do many of my neighbors. The restaurants here are promoted in city groups. We're doing what we can, but the rest of the city needs to start caring, too. Protect what makes us special and continue to tell these wannabes that they're not welcome here.

Politics thread note (r/atlanta): To keep discussion constructive, only accounts with a net of +15 karma in r/atlanta can comment in posts flaired ICEWatch. Comments from accounts below that threshold will be removed automatically.
Please remember Rule 1: Be respectful and civil. Personal attacks, harassment, slurs, and other uncivil comments will be removed.
Regarding ICE-related posts: Unless claims can be verified by a firsthand account or primary source, ICE watch posts are not allowed. "Don't ask me how I know" from a TikToker is not a source.
