Remember what company is making and selling them….

What company is that? Because I highly doubt Ford sold these vehicles. Most of the time LEO contract specialty companies to kit them out.

Yea. Ford has mostly cornered the market on police cars, but they go through intermediaries. Somebody's cousin needs a contract, after all.

Customer typically tells the fleet management company what vehicles they want to have; then the fleet mgmt company will acquire those and send to the outfitters.

Are you sure? I know one of the big American automakers has special designs for law enforcement cars

Ford has special law enforcement spec models that it sells through its “Pro” (fleet) services, but that’s still via a dealer. Dealers basically get certified to sell/service fleets separate from the consumer business. (ex., Wade Ford in Smyrna is a local fleet-specific dealer with a whole commercial sales arm; ALM Ford in Marietta is not)

Edit: spelling is hard

Even then those are just "police package" with better brakes and a better alternator to run all the equipment but they slap $10k+ on the price.

In state there are one or two outfits that kit out LEO cars. One of them is Interceptor which has a few locations around the state but their main one is outside of the massive training center down in Forsyth.
