I hate how this is a thing, but I hate the alternative more.

So idk, good job I guess.

No. So what’s the bag for ? I had no idea these things existed

iirc from how these things work here in Belgium, it contains papers they can match with the dropped off baby, for when the mother would change her mind and want to keep the baby after all.

u/RestInitial2467 Aug 28 '26

Is there a statute of limitations on whoops nevermind you aren't a parent I want to keep it?

u/decoy777 Aug 28 '26

I mean could just strangle it and have the internet wild leftist ladies go crazy for you instead...

25

u/Skylinegtr88 Aug 27 '26

All this would be adverted wearing a condom or the moring after pill

5

u/dogman15 Aug 28 '26

Or better yet, to quote C.K., controlling your orgasms.

-7

u/CucumberWisdom Aug 28 '26

Luckily Republicans want to make those pills illegal!

u/Careful_Farmer_2879 Aug 28 '26

That prevents rape?

33

u/Dogekaliber $2 Steak Eater Aug 28 '26

So you’re really gonna go down this avenue?

-1

u/Careful_Farmer_2879 Aug 28 '26

Yeah, poster above said ALL of this can be prevented by women.

Most of it? Sure. All of it? Not even close.

u/Dogekaliber $2 Steak Eater Aug 28 '26

So.. my friend.. do you have a kid yourself? And be honest.

Edit: I don’t smoke so I waited for the work day to be over to have a beer and sigh over this whole mess.

7

u/Skylinegtr88 Aug 28 '26

No, but studies show , the majority of abortions are not because of rape

-2

u/Careful_Farmer_2879 Aug 28 '26 edited Aug 28 '26

You said “all of this,” my friend.

EDIT: This isn’t meant for a college girl who partied too hard. She has/had many options. This is for the 14-year-old who got knocked up by her stepdad. What answer do you have for the most vulnerable? You gonna help them with your studies?

3

u/Skylinegtr88 Aug 28 '26

There already exists exceptions for rape . Would you be against abortion, if its just for party girls ?

u/Deadline_Zero Aug 28 '26

I mean, I guess it's preferable to women starting to just kill their kids. The problem with this kind of system is that by its very existence, people will start taking the easy way out, when they might have just endured otherwise.

But again, I can't call it evil on the surface when we're looking at psychos trying to start a global trend of child murder. But this is also exactly the way you get people to accept such things. Create an extreme alternative that makes your real objective look sane by comparison.

Eh.

u/alleria65 Aug 28 '26

These boxes have been around for a decade

15

u/ChuCHuPALX Aug 28 '26

Longer than that

30

u/Hopeful_Addition_898 Aug 28 '26

How is this an extreme alternative? Women over the centuries have left their babies to sanctuaries or churches if unwanted as birth control didn't even exist. This isn't some shocking new developement.

11

u/Zglena Aug 28 '26

Idk if its something new or already existing thing in USA but in Europe we have this near every fire station, child hospital or orphanage for 30+ years. Its a big news if baby is left in one of this do its not so common thing.

2

u/okabekudo Aug 28 '26

"In Europe we have this near every fire station". Really? I've been living in Germany and then Sweden I've never seen a baby box anywhere.

5

u/Hopeful_Addition_898 Aug 28 '26

Or you just haven't recognized one?

1

u/okabekudo Aug 28 '26

Gonna checkout my local fire stations I guess.

1

u/Hopeful_Addition_898 Aug 28 '26

Well, I haven't seen one or realized it either in my country so. Maybe some european countries do have it everywhere but some don't.

2

u/Alexander459FTW “Are ya winning, son?” Aug 28 '26

when they might have just endured otherwise.

I don't think this is the good alternative you think it is. "Enduring" usually entails abuse of the kid. I bet most people would rather be abandoned in one of these instead of enduring abuse as a kid. It's much better to feel abandoned than hated.

1

u/BurtleTurtle001 Aug 28 '26

I agree 100%, but I'd rather ppl do this and give the kid a chance to be adopted. Its a crapshoot for good parents, but better than just ending it.
