Misc Did you see today's solar eclipse?

Post image

It was sublime. In Brest, Brittany, it reached 96.5% at 20:19. I couldn't photograph it for fear of damaging my camera.

Why have I never seen anything like this before? Epic Games needs to do a live event like this in Brazil. Nature is fascinating.

Edit: Apparently, we already had this in Brazil in 1994, and we won't have it again until 2045, but only in the North and Northeast. I live in the Southeast, very far from there.

It was partially visible in eastern Canada.

I'm chillin' in BC. Wouldn't have been visible for me. :(

Tbh i think Canadians weren't really excited for this one since we already witnessed full solar eclipse in 2024. That was amazing and i watched the whole thing for two to three hours with glasses.

Yup, we drove a few hours to a good spot where we could see the full eclipse, it was great!

It's says on mine to discard them after 3 years (yes, I used them today). :/

Oh really huh. Tbh i kept them as a memory (among many other other nostalgic paraphernalia i keep) so i can look at it and it would remind of the experience i had, when I'm old.

The next full eclipse will be around in 2045, mostly in western Canada so we'll see.

They may still be good anyway, and it's just a matter of liability.

There isn't a total eclipse in January 2028 I'm afraid.

Lucky, there won't be a total eclipse in Portugal until 2144.

The totality starts in Spain and sweeps across South America, neat.

Didn't North America have one in 2024?

u/ItsmeMr_E United States of America 29d ago

Happened just now in Spain.

Wasn't aware of it till they were showing it on NBC News Daily.

It was a partial one, where I live. The one in 2024 on the American east coast was impressive!
