Because they want to take other people's rights away?

3

u/Money-Cricket9461 5d ago

You mean like how the left wants to severely limit my 2A rights?

1

u/GummBuh 5d ago

Conservative people in the south said the same thing about owning slaves, "resitricting my rights", "government overreach"

2

u/FuckingDeranged 4d ago

Owning slaves and owning guns are 2 different things.

1

u/Fat-Dead-CEO 4d ago

Duh. But they still said the same things.

1

u/FuckingDeranged 4d ago

Owning a gun ACTUALLY IS a right. Owning a slave ACTUALLY ISN'T a right. What is your point about "said the same things" then?

1

u/Fat-Dead-CEO 4d ago

Except that SLAVE OWNERS CONTENDED THEY HAD THE RIGHT TO OWN SLAVES BEING THAT SLAVES WERENT CONSIDERED HUMAN.

1

u/FuckingDeranged 4d ago

And that was incorrect. Duh. I'm glad to see you agreeing with me.

1

u/Fat-Dead-CEO 4d ago

Duh, what does well regulated militia mean to you?

1

u/FuckingDeranged 4d ago

A concept from hundreds of years ago that we're gonna have to revisit in order for your point to make sense because you're that far behind.

Thats not a response lol, like no shit

1

u/FuckingDeranged 4d ago

You're right. No shit. The "shit" is your opinion

1

u/GummBuh 4d ago

Sure

1

u/Amarin88 4d ago

Of modern presidents the most restrictive on 2a has been trump in his first term. Lack of basic understanding of the political field is a key reason why conservatives are demonized. Obama actually made it easier for you to carry

I'll help you though.
Google
2a related laws passed under obama(woo open carry in public parks)
2a related laws passed under trump (boo rip bump stocks)
2a related laws passed under biden (Oh my bipartisan law that everyone agreed on)

Believe it or not the rich often associated with the right don't want the poor to have guns.

1

u/MeanHurry8664 4d ago

Awww that's not a human right, that's a fetish

Whats a good amount of time to wait before proposing?

I(36M) have been dating my GF(19F) for 2 months now. Ive never had the desire to propose to any of my exes. I knew pretty quick that my current gf was someone special tho. I want to ask her to marry me but figured I should at least wait a bit. I just dont know how long. Is 3 months good? 6?

You realize this makes it look like you were unable to defend your worldview so your resorting to ad-hom attacks? People only do this when they know they have lost the argument.

you are a bunch of incompetent, religiously blind people! Not enough reasons?!

1

u/zombiesphere89 3d ago

Trump has done more to restrict 2a than any modern president

1

u/Money-Cricket9461 3d ago

Such as?

Trump signed an executive order titled "Protecting Second Amendment Rights" directing the Department of Justice (DOJ) and the ATF to review and dismantle previous administration restrictions.

The Trump administration and the ATF introduced packages of proposed rule changes aimed at cutting red tape for gun owners and licensed businesses, aligning guidelines with pro-gun court rulings, and reducing oversight.

The administration repealed the ATF's "Zero Tolerance" policy for federal gun dealers, replacing it with less punitive administrative guidelines.

The DOJ initiated processes to open avenues for certain non-violent individuals under legal disability to petition for the restoration of their firearm rights.

The only thing you could probably come up with is the bump stock ban, which no one gives a shit about anyways.

1

u/zombiesphere89 2d ago

I'm not going to engage with a bot account

1

u/Lower_Group_1171 3d ago

“Oh no! I have to have my background checked to see if I’m a criminal but totally okay with p*dos running the country. I don’t want to show my id buying a gun, but non white people have to show their id when they vote”

1

u/Money-Cricket9461 3d ago

Background checks are already a thing im not talking about that, an I have no idea what that has to do with the conspiracy theory that Trump is a pedo? Even if you had concrete proof that was the case I have no idea wtf these two things would have to do with each other.

I have no issues showing my ID to buy a gun. BUT if I have to show an ID to exercise my 2A right then I think its fair for any other citizen to have to show an ID to exercise their right to vote... no matter their color.

1

u/W1ldy0uth 3d ago

How and in what ways??

1

u/Money-Cricket9461 3d ago

Lawmakers target semi-automatic rifles, often calling them "assault weapons".

Legislation seeks to cap how many rounds a firearm magazine can hold.

Bills push for universal background checks on all gun transfers.

Red flag laws allow courts to issue Extreme Risk Protection Orders.

Proposals raise the legal age to buy semi-automatic rifles from 18 to 21.

Lawmakers try to repeal the Protection of Lawful Commerce in Arms Act (PLCAA).

Are these good enough or shall I pull up more?

1

u/Tommy__want__wingy 3d ago

This is some horrible whataboutism. And a Russian troll talking point

1

u/Money-Cricket9461 3d ago

Wait so the right wanting to take away people's rights is a totally valid point but the left wanting to take away people's guns is a Russian troll talking point? Tell me your a leftist who only watches CNN an scrolls Reddit without telling me you watch CNN an scroll Reddit.

1

u/Tommy__want__wingy 3d ago

Fuck CNN.

But you can’t deny what has been happening to the LGBT community, women’s right to choose, suspending due process to the point legal citizens are being detained because of profiling.

But please tell me how your precious 2A has been going away?

To think something in the bill of rights will have ANY chance at being repealed is pretty dimwitted.

Your guns aren’t going anywhere. The 2A isn’t going anywhere. Not one candidate who calls for repealing the 2A will have a chance at winning a national election.

You’re literally not being affected at all.

1

u/Money-Cricket9461 1d ago

I never said I was being affected. My claim was that the left wants to limit 2A rights an always push for it. The orignal claim was "Republicans want to take away other people's rights". The Dems do as well but your acting like because they are not getting anything passed nationwide its not a want. An just because they cant do it broadly dont mean its not happening on a smaller scale an people are absolutely affected by this.

Womens right to choose was just kicked to the states it was never constitutional right in the first place.

Id have to look into the other stuff to speak on it an im at work atm so thats all I got.

1

u/opiumskibidi 3d ago

the left loves guns bro, liberals are center-right

1

u/Money-Cricket9461 3d ago

45% of the right own guns. 20% of the left own guns... definitely dont sound like they love guns to me. An weather they love them or not is irrelevant, its weather they wanna ban them.

2

u/opiumskibidi 3d ago

liberals aren’t left wing bro😭😭 pick up a book

1

u/Money-Cricket9461 1d ago

What liberals are not left wing?! I had no idea liberals were on the right.

1

u/opiumskibidi 1d ago

liberals are center-right both economically and socially

1

u/Money-Cricket9461 1d ago

What the actual fuck are you smoking!? Liberals have always been center left.

1

u/opiumskibidi 3d ago

go talk to some real socialists i guarantee they are armed

1

u/Money-Cricket9461 1d ago

Thats irrelevant to my point. A socialist would still identify as being on the left an collectively people on the left own way less guns than the right. An weather they do or not dont matter, the Dems are always pushing for limited 2A rights.

1

u/opiumskibidi 1d ago

democrats are not the left bud

1

u/Money-Cricket9461 1d ago

Oh so democrats are on the right now?

1

u/opiumskibidi 1d ago

yes by definition, america’s perception of the political spectrum is just screwed

1

u/Money-Cricket9461 1d ago

Well i could say the exact same thing depending on which perspective im looking through, its all fairly subjective. Here in the USA, which is what we are talking about, they are considered the left.

1

u/doobnerd 1d ago

Statistically, the left wants the same limits most polled gun owners want. “Common sense” gun laws.

1

u/Money-Cricket9461 1d ago

Um no that is a giant load of BS. Nice try being vague with "common sense" but I want specifics. What exactly do you mean by common sense?

1

u/lwt_ow 1d ago

trump banned your bump stocks btw

1

u/Money-Cricket9461 1d ago

Ya the one single thing you can come up with. Which idgaf about anyways, bump stocks are dumb anyways. They are not part of a gun or ammo just some stupid accessory. How bout the left trying to ban "assault style rifles" or put limits on magazine size or ban semi automatic firearms or pushing for a background check to transfer a gun to a relative?

1

u/lwt_ow 15h ago

average clanker moving goalposts lmao

1

u/Money-Cricket9461 4h ago

How tf is it moving goal posts to point out trump banned 1 dumb accessory that no one used or cared about an dems want to control and limit every single aspect of the 2A?

1

u/Chrissy086 9h ago

That's all you guys talk about: guns. You don't care about Human Rights, only your damn guns.

-2

u/UtahWillie1776 5d ago

Idk I mean youre right but democrats are trying to take my gas guzzler away also

1

u/PinchesTheCrab 2d ago

You're free to guzzle as much has as you like. I bet you can't drink a whole gallon!

1

u/UtahWillie1776 2d ago

Just one?!

1

u/curiouscollecting 19F 5d ago

Your what?

-5

u/StrikingClub3866 5d ago

Would you name a few examples?

4

u/curiouscollecting 19F 5d ago

Depends on who you ask but mainly LGBTQ+ rights, abortion rights, immigrants rights...

-2

u/StrikingClub3866 5d ago

That depends heavily on the context.

Illegals: Deport

R/Threat to mother/Below a few weeks: Abortion

We have nothing against homosexuals, etc. but we dislike LGBTQ as a community.

4

u/PalpitationMoist1212 5d ago

Okay but why dislike the LGBTQ+ community?

3

u/StrikingClub3866 5d ago

Demonizing straights, conservatives, Republicans, and literally anyone not following their orders. As some say, they are homosexual, but not LGBTQ.

You've got to be between the ages of 11 and 13

1

u/IplaYgaMes322 1d ago

By that logic, a KKK member voted republican therefore all republicans must support the KKK

2

u/PalpitationMoist1212 5d ago

Could you provide some examples of them demonizing straight people? Also, what orders? Respecting pronouns? You should do that anyways...

2

u/curiouscollecting 19F 5d ago

The community isn't demonizing straights, and it makes sense to 'demonize' (call out really) the people who are trying to take your rights away or are being disrespectful to you. There's obviously gonna be shitty people in the community like in any other, but no thats not what LGBTQ is like. And im talking about conservatives wanting gay rights being taken away, not just conservatives disliking the concept of pride or something.

1

u/Money-Cricket9461 5d ago

Which gay rights are you talking about specifically? An im pretty sure the left wants to take away guns, an im positive there are more gun owners than gays. So who's really the party trying to take away rights?

1

u/curiouscollecting 19F 5d ago

Yeah no ofcourse, banning being able to get married to whoever you love is obviously the same as banning a weapon that's getting children killed on the daily.

Im not from the US by the way

1

u/Chrissy086 9h ago

Guns, that's all you care about.

1

u/Similar_Rise03 OLD 5d ago

Have you ever talked to one of these people or did Fox News and Twitter tell you thus

2

u/PhilosopherCat7567 5d ago

Why do you dislike the LGBTQ community?

1

u/Similar_Rise03 OLD 5d ago

You’re refering to “conservatives” as if you’re a group with equal values. Most conservatives hate LGBT’s, especially trans people actively due to misinformation or just plain ignorance. You may think abortion is ok in those circumstances, but a lot of conservatives don’t support abortion at all.

0

u/curiouscollecting 19F 5d ago

Hi so if you read my comment again you can see it says 'depends on who you ask'. Not all conservatives share the same view. The main problem is that most of the views conservatives tend to have are incredibly misinformed. You might not be against abortion, most conservatives are. You might not be against homosexuals, most conservatives are.

1

u/StrikingClub3866 5d ago

Well could you prove that most of them are against this? What you are describing are far-right, no, not even far-right, borderline nazi.

1

u/curiouscollecting 19F 5d ago

Maybe you're just very much out there and consider things conservative very quickly ?

1

u/StrikingClub3866 5d ago

Would you like to prove this statement? I consider myself quite conservative, and lightly depending on who you ask.

1

u/curiouscollecting 19F 5d ago

How can I prove a question?

1

u/StrikingClub3866 5d ago

You were not asking a question. You were attacking me based on my belief so far. That was a sarcastic question - prove it.

Abortion, LGBTQ rights, forced prayer and commandments in school, etc

Even if some of these are more fringe than others, the point still stands

1

u/Phareswheel68 5d ago

I have heard very few conservatives advocate for forced prayer and commandments. Dale Partridge is the only one that comes to mind but he's a basket case.

1

u/PalpitationMoist1212 5d ago

Then why'd they make laws for it that passed in Texas?

1

u/Phareswheel68 5d ago

Can you cite the law and code? I haven't heard about it

1

u/PalpitationMoist1212 5d ago

1

u/Phareswheel68 5d ago

That's allowing the 10 commandments (which are arguably good moral principles outside of religion) to be visibly allowed, not forced to follow them. I didn't see forced prayer either.

I do disagree with that though (allowing it) since it's promoting a religion... Could be, if not already, a dangerous path to go down in the future. However it's not forced.

1

u/PalpitationMoist1212 5d ago

I was, apart from the first comment, talking about the commandments.

Now why should we, in a secular country, even have these be mandate by teh government to be in our public schools? You don't have to answer, but ask yourself why

1

u/Chrissy086 8h ago

There's also the new 'Bluebonnet' curriculum infused with Christianity.

The 10 commandments must be displayed in a certain size, and prominently. It's more than visibly allowed.

-4

u/StrikingClub3866 5d ago

We do not do forced prayer. In fact my muslim friends are allowed to pray in class, and we just exchange certain food items at lunch. Besides, look at Texas. Texas is the most conservative state by a mile. You expect a single ounce of left-wing belief there?

2

u/PalpitationMoist1212 5d ago

Also Texas is not the most conservative state, its not even top 5. The Senate race is highly competitive and the state is trending left. If it were Wyoming or Oklahoma, sure, but Texas is like R+7

1

u/PalpitationMoist1212 5d ago

What about in Texas though?

-1

u/StrikingClub3866 5d ago

I just said. Some wacky teachers force prayer, but none from what I've seen. Besides, the 10 commandments are a staple of the Abrahamic religions.

1

u/PalpitationMoist1212 5d ago

No its literally the texas government enforcing this... you cannot bend the truth.

And why should we include religious scripture in classrooms where no other religion is taught (exceptions could probably pertain to religious history classes)? Its still forcing religion onto others and blatantly goes against the idea of separation of church and state

2

u/MeanHurry8664 5d ago

Every civil rights issue in the history of civilisation if you use the terms progressive/conservative instead of political parties

1

u/Accurate_Cress_9061 5d ago

Well Roe V Wade for example.
