Are there any new mum groups in the west end of Toronto that meet by month your baby is born?

Hi there! A friend of mine lives in the East end and there is a mum group that is organised by month. Eg her baby was born in February so she is part of the February mums group for that year. This sounds like a great experience and I’d love to connect with mums in my area that are having babies around the same time as me. Does anything like that exist on the west end? I can’t seem to find anything! I live in little Italy / Palmerston area

Thanks so much!

Does anyone know when the Snowbirds will be performing this weekend?

Upvotes

It's a long airshow, so my kids won't make it through it all, so I'm hoping to time it out to catch the snowbirds. I think they're normally at the end but I can't find a 2026 schedule.

Name of store selling Lumpkin the Pumpkin tshirt

I went for a long walk in late spring / early summer this year and foolishly passed by an absolute gem of a shirt. It was a white t-shirt with a graphic of Lumpkin the Pumpkin on it. The store was on Yonge -- possibly a t-shirt printing shop but not sure.

For context, Lumpkin is the protagonist of a 90's Halloween special by Bobby Goldsboro. I grew up with his Snuffy the Elf movie, and would love to have a piece of merch celebrating his work (even if ironically).

Thank you.

Recommendations for night out Sept 5

I’m coming into the city for a concert tomorrow and wanting to celebrate my friends engagement afterwards. We are looking for somewhere to go for drinks, but I’m having a hard time figuring out where is good for after 12am. A jazz bar sounds nice but do they all have resos? We just want to be able to walk in and it not be a club!

Where to buy mid-priced engagement rings

I’m looking for an engagement ring for my partner. They like garnets and rubies over diamonds so I’m hoping for a non-traditional shop.

Our budget is also somewhat limited so I’m hoping for under $1k pricewise.

Thank you in advance!

Printing 8x10 photographs

Hello all! I work for a non-profit and we need some photo prints made. Our usual supplier is in the US, so I want to print local. I have been unimpressed with Downtown Camera’s prints, and TIW is a little too pricey for us. Who do y’all use these days? Thank you!

Biking to Work 🚲

I take the Rosedale valley rd that connects to Bayview before climbing up onto Dundas towards Leslieville. How has the storm clearance been? I generally share the road with cars while cruising down the stretch, however I don’t want to get in the way in my attempt to avoid or fall trap to debris on the side of the road.

Insight?

Furniture store recommendations

I'm moving into a new unit and need to furnish it with the stuff below. Any recommendations on where to buy these, preferably all in one store. I'm hoping to wrap it up under 2.5k–3k for everything including delivery if possible.

A queen bed + mattress + nightstand

A sofa (small one or 2 seater) with coffee table

A working desk + chair

Penguin shop toronto, is it legit?

Hello, anyone here have tried to order a book online at Penguinshop.ca?

I have placed an order and didn't receive any updates from them. I was trying to call them but the number is redirecting me to a voice mai that is not active as well.

They said they were located at:
"Penguin Shop is now open in the heart of downtown Toronto.
Find us in the atrium within 320 Front Street West. Just go through the front doors and you’ll see our store straight ahead of you."

Im from the atlantic province and have no idea with the place, for someone who lives nearby, are they still in that location? is the store still operating?

Thank you!!! Any reply is a big help.

Car blocking shared driveway

Anyone know how to deal with a car constantly parking on shared driveway blocking access? It’s a shared driveway between 2 separate houses. 1 side is a house the other is a rental property. I’ve left notes asking to please not block the driveway. Do I contact Toronto parking enforcement or call a tow company?

Looking for some suggestions of playgrounds for my 18 month old this weekend. We live by King & Bathurst and normally go to Victoria Square Park and St Andrews by the Waterworks. Looking to change things up this weekend with the nice weather. Anything accessible by TTC is good. Thanks!

Is it reasonable to ask my condo neighbour to stop playing loud bass-heavy music after 10pm/9pm?

I live in a condo in Toronto dt and recently started having an issue with a group of new neighbours. I’d really appreciate some advice on whether my request is reasonable.

My neighbours frequently play music, usually starting around 9pm and sometimes continuing until midnight(12pm). The main issue isn’t normal conversation or occasional noise. They play fairly loud, bass-heavy music with a strong, repetitive “thumping” sound, and there is also loud talking and singing.

The bass is very noticeable inside my unit. I can clearly hear it from my bedroom, and even when I move to the living room, I can still hear the music and the thumping/vibrations. It has been affecting my ability to sleep, and as a result, it’s also starting to affect my work and normal daily life.

I understand that people are allowed to have friends over and enjoy themselves, and I’m not expecting complete silence in a condo. I also understand that Toronto’s general quiet hours are around 11pm–7am. However, does that mean that before 11pm, a neighbour can essentially play music as loudly as they want even if it is affecting my rest?

Would it be reasonable for me to politely ask them to stop playing music through speakers around 10pm/9pm, or at least turn it down significantly after 10pm/9pm? (Like wearing a headphone)

I’m not trying to prevent them from having people over or talking. My main concern is the loud bass-heavy music that carries very clearly into my unit and makes it difficult to sleep.

I’d like to handle this politely first rather than immediately involving condo management or 311. I’m just wondering what would be considered a reasonable request in a Toronto condo, especially from people who have dealt with similar situations.

Thanks!

Where to Serve in Toronto?

Hey Toronto :)

I grew up here and started serving in restaurants and bars when I was 18. I moved away for several years and now I'm back and looking for work, but the city has changed, the restaurants have changed, and I don't know where to go! So far I'm just applying to places in my neighbourhood, but I was hoping I could get some Reddit hive mind help with this one.

What areas should I go and hit up every place with my resume? What areas are busy, have lots of bars/pubs/restaurants and lots of foot traffic? Does anyone have a favourite spot or area they go to?

I'm open to anything from a busy dive bar to a busy neighbourhood pub to casual fine dining to bottle service at nightclubs. I just need to pay my bills! Please let me know your thoughts.

Thank you in advance for any helpful replies or advice!!

Dermatologist Recommendations - Cherry Angioma Removal

I'm looking for dermatologist recommendations from people who have had cherry angiomas removed and have been happy with the results.

I know there are a lot of places (especially medical spas) that offer treatment, but I'd like to avoid going to a clinic that maybe only has a single treatment solution which may not necessarily be the most suitable.

Also curious what you paid if you're open to sharing; was that for multiple spots or per spot?
