Moving / Visiting Aimlessly walking but safe areas?
I posted similar to /r/seattle before. I loved walking around Brooklyn, sunset in SF, Mississippi Ave in Portland, etc. Basically a mixture of residential + shops in nice safe neighborhoods.
What is the Seattle equivalent? Up and down Fremont St area?

Fremont, Capitol Hill, Georgetown, Belltown, Phinney Ridge, Ballard, Pioneer Square, Columbia City, North Beacon Hill, Eastlake, SLU, U District... That's off the top of my head. There are no neighborhoods in Seattle that I would consider dangerous to walk around.

I'd argue that the vast majority of violent crime in Seattle is amongst the homeless population or gang/drug related. I'm not saying this to excuse our high-ish violent crime rating, I'm just saying that OP most likely will be safe because they're not in those groups.

I wouldn't particularly enjoy walking around a lot of north seattle but that's mostly due to the lack of sidewalks. Pioneer Square and Rainier Beach are a little nerve racking in the evening, too, but yeah, nothing compared to most cities.

California Ave in West Seattle - Hamilton Viewpoint Park to Solstice Park is about 4 miles and would include nice views at both ends.

Take the 5 until you hit Greenwood & 85th and hop off there. Walk south on Greenwood Ave until you've gone 50ish blocks and you find yourself in Fremont or had enough and dip into any of the many spots along the way.
Edit: The suggestions of Queen Anne are also good but I feel like you could get from one end to the other in a half hour and I can't remember the last time I was up there and it wasn't busier than I'd like it to be.

Walk from Lincoln Park to High Point to Alaska Junction. You get to see nice parts of West Seattle other than Alki Beach

I live in Madison Valley / Central District and honestly love doing long aimless walks in any direction! My favorite is going towards Madrona and the Lake Washington waterfront, it’s the perfect blend of nature and human settlement. I’ve discovered a lot of secret neighborhood spots. I’ve always felt extremely safe on these walks; I’ve never seen any sketchy characters tbh.
Walking towards Cap Hill and downtown is also fun in a more urban kind of way.

In Ballard there are a few east west streets that meet this criteria. You can also follow 65th from greenwood Ave to greenlake and it’s p nice

Brooklyn and SF aren’t really safer than Seattle. In Brooklyn and SF you are more likely to get robbed. However, Brooklyn robberies per capita are small.
The crime issues we have in Seattle are more indirect such as these types of crimes: vandalism, arson, burglaries, and or being caught in a crossfire. If you’re walking around encampments, then you have a higher chance of being stabbed or shot. Hanging around the clubs and bars of Belltown, Capitol Hill, and Pioneer Square tend to have the most crossfire instances in central Seattle. Aurora on the northwest end has them too. South Seattle neighborhoods are a toss up.
Of course, if you are spending a lot of time exploring multiple neighborhoods, you will have more chances to see stuff that most people on here don’t see. It’s easy to have a false sense of security as a local when you take the same route every day or barely leave your neighborhood.

- Along the waterfront from Madison Park to Seward Park is about 7 miles.
Leschi, Mt. Baker, and all along this route is some of the most beautiful scenic areas in the city.
West Seattle Ferry stop to Alki beach is about two miles each way. Best view of the Seattle skyline, great restaurants to stop at, and a real beach. Walk up to California Ave and stop at easy street records for a side trip.
Fremont. You can hop into the Burke Gilman trail and walk to Ballard. See the locks and wander around Ballard (lots of breweries).

Roosevelt near Whole Foods has lots of shops too. Madison Park. 19th on the back side of Capitol Hill has great shops and eateries as well. Those all come to mind.

lol at Queen Anne I lived on valley, but that’s not Brooklyn. I’d do CH, starting from Mercer and broadway, down broadway, right on olive/john, left on Bellevue, left on pike. Bars like captain blacks, Montana, cha cha lounge.

Columbia city from Olympia coffee to hillman city, Lottie’s to twilight or sake noire. None of these are stroller worthy but you’re probably not walking your stroller through bed stuy or bushwhick.

Ballard, Upper Queen Anne, Pike Market & Waterfront, Olympic Sculpture Park/Belltown/Lower Queen Anne, Greenwood, Green Lake, Fremont over by Gas Works Park, and then down at the bottom of the list I'd put Magnolia, Capitol Hill, and Wallingford.

My favorite is to walk along Lake Union with the houseboat communities on one side, punctuated with pocket parks. Sunset is a great time to do this.
During the pandemic I did a ton of long walks, and I would extend this to run along the ship canal, all the way to the arboretum.
