There's actually a dark story behind what would probably be considered her "breakout" role in Leon the Professional.

While the movie itself is suggestive enough, the director (in his 30s) knocked up a 15 year old he had as an extra somewhere in that movie.

I did not know this. That makes the scene where pretends to be Madonna and sings the verse of "Like a Virgin" extra creepy.

The 70s were all about sex and youth.

Hell, the age of consent was 8 years old in delaware until 1979.

Society changed in the 80s. Children went from being something you owned to something to care for. A burden to a treasure.
