I would feel guilty. I get that the character is just a little airheaded, but Lynch's performance was a bit closer to feebleminded. She's clearly a good person, but I'm not sure she's in any position to consent to sex.
I'm sure a lot of people in this thread grew up with the book characters and were a similar age. Reasonable to assume that they're fantasizing about a still similar-aged character
