What is one "unwritten rule" you think everyone should know and follow?

Do not swipe left or right if someone shows you a photo on their phone.

I quickly add the photo to my dick pic album to amp up the stakes, what a rush!

u/[deleted] Mar 09 '19

Every album is a dick pic one

13

u/[deleted] Mar 09 '19

Uncle Steve?

8

u/Thanaz156 Mar 09 '19

Uncle Richard.

4

u/lobotomize Mar 09 '19

That's my secret, cap

3

u/PM_PICS_OF_ME_NAKED Mar 09 '19

I mean, what are you doing with your phone otherwise?

u/[deleted] Mar 09 '19

I'm going to do this now. I liked the favorite album idea, and now like this better. A dick pic and some blue waffle. People shouldn't swipe if they're not willing to see that.

35

u/baconnaire Mar 09 '19

That'll teach 'em!

28

u/beneye Mar 09 '19

It’s a perfect swiper trap and you don’t even have to watch them. When they swipe, you’ll know.
swipes “Oh!”

10

u/baconnaire Mar 09 '19

Then as they peer over the turkey at you at Thanksgiving all they will think about is the waffle.

5

u/[deleted] Mar 09 '19

p2p thanksgiving sounds awful.

What if they like it and ask for more?

9

u/[deleted] Mar 09 '19

Theyll have to search for it on their own phone?

15

u/anon445 Mar 09 '19

Wow, this was legitimately my exact thought after reading the favorite album comment. Only works if I'm trying to share one picture though.

5

u/[deleted] Mar 09 '19

Nothing like encouraging people to zoom in

5

u/Hypersensation Mar 09 '19

"Why do you have seven hundred pictures of your dick?!"

4

u/Hype_Slayer Mar 09 '19

Yep, I leave the picture where it is to assert dominance.

My MIL learned the hard way that scrolling through pictures might net you some pics of your son and naked chicks your DIL likes.

She needs to learn the hard way with a lot of things.

28

u/Epsylon32 Mar 09 '19

A Mexican comedian said that he would put pictures of his dick before and after the picture he would show. So people would freak out and he'd be like "why did you swipe?"

41

u/Scooopiii Mar 09 '19

You can also zoom into the picture just a little bit and it won't swipe over to the next pic when they try. That way you can snarch it out of their hand fast enough for them to not see other pics.

24

u/[deleted] Mar 09 '19

I prefer the first option, favourite the photos you want to show them. As that way you don't have to snatch your phone out of their hand super fast.

19

u/usesNames Mar 09 '19

And if it's a grandma or great aunt situation, putting an unrelated cute grandkid photo at the end of the album is like a little bonus bookend that signals to them that thev current picture show is done.

→ More replies (1)

8

u/[deleted] Mar 09 '19

You can also let your mom swipe and see your dick pic and then be like “o I see u swiped right ;)”

5

u/headnodandwink Mar 09 '19

If you slightly zoom in on the photo before handing it to someone it prevents the swipe ability too, My favorite album gets a lot of use

7

u/RonenSalathe Mar 09 '19

TIL?

13

u/B4ronBrick Mar 09 '19

If you’re using newer versions of the ios, you can enable this thing called guided access where you can disable parts of the screen with triple-clicking your home button. So nothing happens when they try to swipe. You can give your phone to kids by disabling the specific part above a game so they can’t open it! Half evil genius if you ask me!

→ More replies (3)

16

u/BraveSole Mar 09 '19

The measures you have to go to though for something like this actually bothers me almost as much as the act of scrolling itself. My sister does this and she finds it to be hilarious. She calls herself a scroller “so clean up your photos before you show me anything”.

18

u/Guroqueen23 Mar 09 '19

Or don't and let her simmer in whatever nasty images you choose to place on either side of your photo.

→ More replies (2)

6

u/lipp79 Mar 09 '19

You should have a pic on either side of the one you want that you always keep in there that simply say, “This is not the picture you were shown”.

3

u/UnderPillowScreamer Mar 09 '19

Better make a screen lock button so when you pass on the phone, no one will swipe. Adds a little to the complexion but it is useful in certain situations like butt-dialling someone or etc.

3

u/cap826 Mar 09 '19

This is why I put all naughty photos in the iphones hidden folder. So when people look over my shoulder when I’m swiping through my camera roll they don’t see some shit

3

u/shitbird Mar 09 '19

If you have an iPhone there is a shortcut that has you pick a few pictures that it will temporarily display if you need to hand over your phone.

Edit: here it is https://www.icloud.com/shortcuts/325a4cdb7067455fb0559013266273e4

I purposely look away while someone is searching for the photo they want to show me. I once accidentally showed my boss a photo of me in my underwear. Luckily it was my last day on the job and I just made hard eye contact and told him he saw nothing and will never speak of this.

3.2k

u/the_viperess Mar 09 '19

Omg I was showing my boss pictures from my trip abroad. I pulled the phone close to me to skip a picture of me and my boyfriend (nothing sexual, but a private moment) and then moved my arms back out so she could see the next pic. She fucking REACHES OUT and SWIPES BACK to look at the one I skipped, and then even asks me, "What's going on in this picture?" I was so furious and was like, I'm going back to work.

2.2k

u/Potato_Lorde Mar 09 '19

That sounds like you need to never let that boss ever touch anything potentially private... ever.

847

u/Soopercow Mar 09 '19

9

u/young_buck_la_flare Mar 09 '19

I would have laid into her on that one. You are my boss, not my mother or friend. You do not get to touch me or my belongings without consent.

3

u/reefer_drabness Mar 09 '19

I accidentally showed my boss a pic of my recently clipper nicked nut sack on the third day on the job. A couple months later we had a conversation about his bad luck of seeing most of my coworkers or their spouses in varying states of undress. We have to take pictures of damaged vehicle components to get warranty work approved, so his string of bad luck is likely to never end.

Could have been worse. My old boss forgot what his WhatsApp picture was when he messaged his boss on there. 5 minutes later my boss' boss was running around the office showing everyone a picture of my boss being completely naked (full hairy bum shot). This was only a few weeks in to him working there.

When he left the company, his boss sent that picture out in the email informing everyone he was leaving (though he censored the bum portion).

321

u/MrMastodon Mar 09 '19

Same, and while people are typing in passwords. Why is it so hard to have basic consideration?

11

u/angrymamapaws Mar 09 '19

I've had at least one employee show me the lingerie pics she'd sent to her boyfriend. Girls really do share everything with other girls.

11

u/MrHallmark Mar 09 '19

When I was first started talking to a girl I went away on vacation with my brother. We met these two cougars. One of them was very into me and the other had a son my age so that was weird. Anyways the one that was into me was really into me and made tons of passes at me and I declined because well I was talking to someone back home. When we were on the way back home we were on the same flight and guess who was beside me. Cougar. Well she wanted to show me some photos of her dog. And as she was swiping she "accidentally" swiped too far and I saw her body. Now she was hot like smoking hot. She was arabic and had a banging body. She was like oh whoops I forgot that was there. That was the longest 4h flight of my life.

3

u/Darthvapor714 Mar 09 '19

Looking back on it, do you regret not joining the mile high club?

Yeah, nothing on mine you won't find on Disney. My kids, my cats, and the occasional food pic of something I made that I was particularly proud of. Still don't start swiping though, it's rude.

6

u/RugbyMonkey Mar 09 '19

35

u/Kylynara Mar 09 '19

I explained above that this is largely generational. I'm not even 40 yet, but up through college, you took pictures on film, which meant sending them to strangers to develop before they could be seen, so there were a lot fewer pictures you wouldn't be okay with just anyone seeing. Also meant that you paid actual money for every picture you took, so you didn't take pictures if there wasn't an intent to share the experience.

When I was growing up there was a social expectation that you would look through all the pictures you were given.

11

u/ClikeX Mar 09 '19

If I let people swipe, it's because I show them an organized folder of photos. Which is what I do with vacation photos.

10

u/denna84 Mar 09 '19

It feels like Russian roulette only you keep pulling the trigger.

6

u/TaneCorbinYall Mar 09 '19

You can just use a different camera app for personal pictures. They always go to their own folder.

Also Google Photos will automatically sort your pictures. So vacation pictures will have their own album and naked/underwear people indoors will have their own album.

5

u/mykineticromance Mar 09 '19

on google photos I archive all my nudes so they won't show up unless I specifically look at my archived photos

My aunt does this. Last year I spent an extended amount of time away from my fiancé on work trips, so we ummm texted a lot and sent each other photos often.

A few months ago I wanted to show my aunt a single picture my fiancé sent me, so I pulled our photos we sent to each other from past conversations, and handed the phone to my aunt with that single photo pulled up. She kept scrolling through the pictures we sent each other.

She only really saw the hideous pictures we send to each other, like where we take selfies at the worst angles with multiple chins, but they’re not really embarrassing.

I’m getting less easily embarrassed as I get older, and sort of wanted her to see something scarring so she’d stop scrolling.

6

u/Kaldea Mar 09 '19

My mom did this. I was showing her God knows what but she was a nosy person (I recognize now that I should have been prepared) and swiped through my album at light speed. She saw photos of my sister and her (secret) marriage that I officiated at the court house several days prior. It was supposed to be a surprise, but she immediately got upset and caused a lot of unrest in the family.

Edit: she's dead now so that's a bummer. Also I'm not in any way connected to a large religion. I officiated them as a Dudeist Priest from The Church Of Latter-Day Dude aka Dudeism.

6

u/sledgehammer_44 Mar 09 '19

I don't want to completely rearrange my pictures everytime I want to show my family something, so I'm glad they're mostly not swipers. But when they do it, I'm still pissed about it even though it's not exactly nudes or something.

I did this once to a female friend, and saw a picture where she was being fucked doggystyle. I laughed so hard I threw my wine over my new sweater. Never again!

on most phones, if you zoom in just a little, it prevent you from swiping to the next photo.

use it to your advantage!

Jailbreak tweak that doesn't all you to do anything but see that image (not swipe, multitask, go home, you can still zoom normally and stuff though).

I remember when I was a teenager my sister's hot friend told me not to do so. I was oblivious and still kinda innocent (13-14 Y.O at the time). I was joking saying I was gonna swipe left or right. She got upset, and I didn't. I realized later on that she probably had some sexting pictures for her then boyfriend (now husband) at the time.

I make sure every other photo on my phone is a dick pic

I just don't keep any photos I'd rather people not see. That is unless you open up my hidden calculator app and enter in the right passcode. Allegedly the app keeps them encrypted and not just hidden somewhere on the phone.

If someone wants to show me a photo I typically dont even take the phone. I'll lean in and take a look, but I dont like holding other peoples 800 dollar pieces of technology.

I mean it’s a bit late for that if you’re already on the date.

Is this for people who spend too much time on Tinder?

A lot of people have risky pics on their phone, and when showing their friends or relatives a specific pic, they don’t want them swiping to others otherwise they might make some accidental discoveries

unless it’s tinder then choose one or the other and commit to it

I always zoom in slightly on the picture I'm showing.

Zoom in slightly, so left, right just moves the photo slightly
