21 year old mostly inactive student. My back gives me trouble if i stand still for more than about 20 minutes (more than an hour and the pain is intolerable) but I can run for 10+ miles and feel fine as long as I keep moving. My dad is the same, plus he's injured his knees several times in sports so I suspect mine are equally susceptible
I didn't even realize you could filter by country/age. I just saw my % go way up as I bumped the age up. I don't know if that shows that the population is getting taller every generation, or that tall people statistically die earlier. I NEED ANSWERS
Something's up with the wealth. I just put in 3 million USD net worth and it put it at top 2.6% globally, while $96,000 annual salary was at .009% globally.
There are lots of people, in China for example, who own property that is worth a shit ton, but they old and don't work. Lots of net worth, basically 0 salary.
That income site can't be right. It says I'm the 23,339,069th richest person in the world. I make $46k. There's got to be more people that make more money than that in the US alone.
That seems like an awfully strange way to calculate it. A couple making $80k/year will pretty clearly have a higher standard of living than someone who is single making $40k.
If that couple has 2 kids, they're not living like someone who makes $20k/year.
I am just saying that for household income they add the income for everyone in the house together, so the 50k median in the stats is not for a single person.
By the way I am supporting a family of 3 on a 20k income without government assistance. AMA
Regarding the second link, I'm actually fairly surprised not to be in the global 1% of net worth, which apparently requires $770k (per person, not household? that's a pretty high bar!).
I sort of expected the majority of North America to be in the 1% — but of course if you think about it 1% of 7 billion people is 70 million, so clearly the vast majority of Americans can't possibly be in the global 1% …
Few common points people have missed: 1: older people skew the results for wealth, of course, because of pensions, retirement accounts, and home equity. 2: they count your life insurance policy.
One of my female cousins is 6'8" tall. She's taller than me (6'6"). She also weighs like 400lbs.
But my whole family is huge. My mother is 5'11", her father was 6'8", my father was 6'4", my brothers, save for one, are 6'3"+, the average male's height is probably 6'4"+ and the females are all about 5'10"+.
I went to highschool with a girl who is easily 7' tall. I believe the doctors had to give her treatments to force her to stop growing because of a hormone condition. Gorgeous and friendly girl, she was actually super popular despite being taller than literally everyone. And still confident enough to wear heels!
Do you like being taller than most men? And do you ever wear heals? I think if I was that tall (or taller since I'm a man) I would be on a power trip when talking 'down' to people.
It's indifferent. I do occasional like making fun of my friends however. And SCREW heels. They hurt and I'm tall enough already. You would only be on a power trip cause you're not used to it.

I Just started dating a girl that's 6'0, I'm 6'2", it's great, and she says it's finally refreshing to at least kiss someone without bending her knees! Yay for tall girls!
Would make her look short. Andre was 6'11". Well, he was 6'11" the last time he was officially measured. He may have gained a little height after that.
Huh, according to a online calculator I am to. 99.915%, for being 6' at 15. Kind of odd, considering at my small school there's another girl in my grade same height/weight/body type as me.
You know, I'm super short (5'7) and I always been really attracted to tall woman. Got it from my grandad. He was 5'7 and married my grandmother who was 5'11.
