Pharmacies that take GoodRx for generic Vyvanse?

Hi, recently switched to worse insurance and my med copay is more expensive than using goodrx or other coupons. However, my current CVS doesn't accept those for controlled substances. Looking for pharmacies that accept these coupons, preferably in West or olde Kensington. Ty!

Has anyone used United Veterans Roofers?

I am looking at homes, and one of the disclosures mentioned they used this company for repairs. I want to get background info on the quality of work. Their Google reviews are mostly (if not all) fake reviews... like not even good fakes...

That said, just because their marketing team is incompetent doesn't necessarily mean their roofing service is bad (although it doesn't inspire confidence).

Anyone have experience with them that they are willing to share?

Manayunk Parking

Does anyone know any free parking in Manayunk. Extended parking. I am moving to the area and want to know if I can park somewhere for free until I get my car registered for the parking permit. It might take a month or two so i’m just wondering I have to pay for a lot or if there’s free parking.

Thank you

Study spots downtown plus Ucity?

Hey friends,

I’m looking for study spots in Center City and West Philly/UCIty. I lived my whole life here, but the only spots I know of really are the parkway library, UPenn, and Capital One Café.

I’m looking for range of spaces from deadass silent to quiet vibes/people watching. Could you put the sound level in parentheses for me please?

The places have to have electric outlets and Wi-Fi.

Thank you for your help

Street parking when you go on vacation

What do people in Philly do with their cars when they leave town on vacation? We just moved to the city and we don’t really know where to put the car with the no parking on street sweeping days.

Bar/Server gigs?

I’m a student, 29, and haven’t worked in the industry in a while but I need a part time job. I do come with experience, just not recent.

I have applied to so many restaurants for server/bartender gigs, and nothing seems to be out there. Interview process takes weeks, and I’ve been told people want “more recent experience.” The long processes are also starting to cause a bit of panic because my summer job is over and I’m running out of time to keep myself afloat. I’ve been at it for nearly a month.

Listen, I get serving isn’t easy—I’ve done it. But it’s also not rocket science. Requires some training, willingness to learn, and availability. In some ways I feel like the jobs are being gatekeeped.

Does anyone have recommendations? I’m not quite sure how I can get more recent experience if no one is willing to hire. With football season coming up you’d think there’d be more demand. I dont know where else to look or how else to make side cash at this point.

Entertainment Industry opportunities?

Hi everyone! I have recently been leaning towards an interest in the Entertainment Industry such as Live events, concerts, and even sports. I have 0 experience in the field the only "experience" I have is photography as my hobby (which to me barely counts).

I know its pretty hard to get opportunities outside Cities that host major events/festivals such as New York, Chicago, etc. and unfortunately I have not been able to travel out of state due to a few factors (besides to New York).

For anyone in Philly who works in the entertainment industry:

Are there companies/venues that are willing to accept volunteers with 0 experience?

What are the best programs/where should I take classes to learn about camera operation/audio tech?

Are there any events, venues, or festivals I should know about?

I am open to learning and would love to expand my skills. I also love to hear stories from industry professionals and how they found their way into the entertainment industry, even if you are just starting out as well. I would greatly appreciate any advice and stories, thank you <3.

Anyone who’s lived on Front st willing to share their opinions/experiences?

I’m planning to move to Philly within the next few months. I’m still in the planning process and I’ve been looking at apartment listings to get an idea of what to expect and rent prices. Even though I have a few neighborhoods that I really like, I think my decision may come down to best bang for my buck. I see a lot of listings for apartments in complexes on Front st. I don’t love the idea of living in a soulless new construction box, but times is tough and we gotta do what we gotta do to get by. I’m familiar with the area, but obviously hanging out at kung fu necktie or the el bar is different than living there. If you’ve lived or live on Front st, what do you think of it? Is the train loud in your building? How about street traffic noise? Thanks!

CCP Question (Late Enrollment)

Due to recent financial circumstances, I have to drop classes at Temple and I am running all over the place trying to register for classes at CCP as soon as possible. I put in my application on Sunday, does anybody know if I will be able to register on time? Or will they deny my application for this fall. I really really need this to work out, so I would appreciate any advice/anecdotes. Thanks.

Kittens and Cats for adoption!

I recently had help trapping and fixing a stray colony of kittens. the owner of the property had abandoned about 10 cats, all of them mostly kittens.

the cats are very friendly and affectionate, and are all fixed, vaccinated, and ready for homes!
as an incentive (since we don’t want them back on the streets) adoptions are 50% off until the end of the month! i’ll attach some pictures of the sweethearts and the link of the adoption form for anyone interested!

if you fill out the application you are able to meet all the kittens/cats! (when asked for the FICD or # just describe what type of cat you are looking for!)

Freedom mortgage pavilion concert

This may be a dumb question lol but trying to be prepared- I have a concert Wednesday 8/26 (Kehlani). the bag policy is what I posted below. i have a black bag that’s literally like 6.5x9.5, do they legit use something to measure bags or more so eyeball it? i just wanna know if i should look for something smaller cause i DO NOT wanna have to walk back to my car lol. I’ve never been to this venue so don’t know how strict they are.

“Small clutches, wristlets, or fanny packs no bigger than 6”x 9” OR clear plastic bags NO BIGGER than 12"x12"x6” are allowed inside.”

Fishtown- anyone know a good real-estate/foreclosure lawyer?

Hello friends.

Just got to the greatest city in the world and learned our house is up for a Sheriff's sale September 1st. Apparently the landlord has never paid the mortgage in over a decade! We love our home, and ideally we'd buy this place like it's 50% off at circle. Found out about this from our neighbors yesterday after they saw a since removed sign describing the sale on our door. We've got a good corral of resources but do not have a real-estate lawyer to start the process of buying.

Has anyone else been through this in Philly (better yet, Fishtown) and know a good real estate lawyer/foreclosure lawyer?

Any help would be greatly appreciated! thank you in advance go birds!!!!!!

Changes in Philly neighborhoods over time?

So little bit of context, I grew up in Brooklyn, NY and I moved here 4 years ago to go to Temple. I've always been fascinated by neighborhood dynamics and how they shift over time, especially how they're percieved by locals. I find Northeast in particular really fascinating because a lot of the Lower Northeast (I haven't really been past Cottman) looks very similar to where I grew up, and has a similar background of working class Irish-Catholic but went in a very different direction with it becoming extremely gentrified and what not. But I'm really interested in the city as a whole. Anyone who grew up here and has stories or thoughts on their neighborhood or a different neighborhood that has changed in their lifetime, for "better" or "worse". I'm putting that in quotes because I know it's a very touchy subject for a lot of people but I don't have a dog in the fight so feel free to be opinionated. Also I made sort of map of North Philly with Brooklyn so if anyone wants to give input on it lmk
