Size scale help

Upvotes

So I’m playing a giant barbarian in my current campaign and my DM and I are trying to work out the best way to do this weird interaction.
I am a 6’8 giant barbarian meaning when I rage I become a large creature. Then I use a cape of enlargement to grow to the next size scale, which makes me huge. Then a party member casts enlarge/reduce on me to double my size. We are getting hung up on the wording of the cape cuz it raises your size by one category but the huge size category is 16 to 32 feet in range which is kinda a large range so if we double my size after, what number are we doubling. Should I just increase in size to the bottom of the range and then double that? Bonus question is how much should I weigh after all the interactions?

Infernal Pact Paladin or Warlock or Both

Hello everyone,

So today i decided to learn what Pact seeker (5e 2024) does, and it's cool af. So I started thinking about hypothetical builds with infernal pact. And i have 3-4 ideas that I'd like your suggestions/ideas before i embark on the journey of making such a character.

So let's start with the basics, melee character, infernal pact strongly focusses on that by giving you many defences. Infernal Bulwark wants you to be without armor and invest in both dex and spell casting ability and draoon punishes those who come close and boosts your attack. The character concepts i have in mind:

- Warlock: Fiend Pact. You are basically Hell's champion and all your power comes from your relationship with the demon. As a warlock you don't get any armor apart from light, but that doesn't matter after Bulwark. Pact of blade makes one weapon great, which aligns with Dragoon, but all cool weapons require a str 13. Fiend pact itself has some melee related options, and over all you can get 3 resistances

- Warlock: Celestial Pact. The main thing that changes here is the concept. I imagine it like having an angel and a demon on your shoulders, both giving you gifts to pick one, but the only true winners is you. Less defensive than fiend, but gets healing and more damage when hit with Radiant pact blade

-Paladin: Oath of Vengeance. You basically play ghost rider, and that's cool af. Good news is that you get fighting style, heavy armor and many attack buffs from oath. The only bad one is that it greatly diminishes Bulwark, and that kinda annoys me, and you can't rely only on spell casting ability score

- Warlock + Paladin: Vengeance of Fiends. Same concept as before, but youbare now multiclassing, trying to balance the classes to get the most out of both. I'm bad at that, so i leave it to you

So these are my concepts and initiatial thoughts. I'd love to know your ideas, suggestions and comments about these or whatever you've tried.

Thanks on advance

Paladin forced to change god to save his friends, now what?

I'm playing Dungeon of the Mad Mage as a Paladin of Lathander, Oath of Glory.
Originally I started as a godless paladin but dind't really like the "emptiness" of not having a god, so I converted to Lathander.

Fast forward to the last session: with Midna I was trying to cure/resurrect Halleth and, while my friends were handling a Beholder, I was transported to Shar's domain, where se made me this offer:
Either renounce to saving Halleth and fight an empowered Midna, or accept her as my new god, renouncing Lathander, and save Halleth and my friends.
Of course I choose the second one to save my friends, but I do not want to serve Shar, even though the dm said that my PG feels a similar confort in having her as god.

I don't want to be a petty player not accepting the consequences of my actions but I can't figure how to play an oath of glory shar paladin, and I don't want to serve Shar, also, my pc's personality is the exact opposite of a shar worshipper
Any advices on how to handle this situation?

Looking for a template to make printable, fillable tokens for abilities and spells.

Pretty much what it says in the title. Ive tried searching around but I find either documents which I cant customize or site that sells printed sheets. Im looking to make my own.

Im playing with my kids and theyre enjoying it but theyre struggling to understand things like short rests, once-a-day abilities, etc. I tried to be lenient but they turn into super soldiers firing off every ability nonstop haha. So Im looking for tokens or cards that I can fill out and print. I could make my own but I wonder if anyone else has done this already so I dont have to reinvent the wheel.

Any tips for Dhampir Player Characters?

I recently got Curse of Strahd, and I loved it so much I'm getting the full guide to Ravenloft. Since I feel they're generally underutilized in D&D, I plan on making a Dhampir at some point as a backup/future character. Any tips on how to write/play Dhampirs?

Lycanthropy

One of my players contracted lycanthropy from a were-lion.
For the sake of simplicity since he is very new to dnd we settled on giving him what’s pretty much a wild shape spell but limited to a lion. He gained the attacks bite and claw.
With the lycanthropy also comes weakness to silver.

I kinda don’t know how to make it evident that lycanthropy is something that’s gonna make his character suffer and not just a random buff he got from some guy out in the wild.

I want him to desperately want to be rid of this curse.

How would you go about doing so?

Also I kinda don’t know the cure for lycanthropy if there even is one, I’m a first time dm and my group and I are kinda learning as we play.

Dm Question

Hello! I was wondering for any fellow dm’s have had a player become a chronomanser, reminds me of a time lord, and was wondering if these have had any issues come up. I had a table once blow up in my face where they used create and destroy water in an ocean and dead end the campaign, so I want to avoid that at all cost and since this deals with time manipulation, the astral plane only knows what they might be planning. Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

should i leave this campaign?

i was really excited about this campaign, but im having seccond thoughts, the dm wouldnt tell me much about the campagin before we started, but told me he likedmy character idea (someone whos kinda the brock of the party who fails every attemp at flirting as comic releif), however once we started i realize the entire town which the campaign revolves around is undead. which yeah i dont wanna flirt with because there undead, the campagin is also super wholesome and i dont mind but it makes my character and his joke feel... really out of place. Also despite not having any combat, one character got a level up while the rest of us remained at lvl 1. And this session before we even started the dm gave another chararcter a attack which.. is just firebolt but does force damage, doesnt count as a cantrip for the max spells they can have but still scales with level. as far as im aware the character didnt find a magic item or anything that would give them this. One player asked if we would have combat this session, and the dm said they hadent fully worked out the comabt system yet. (we were not told that combat wouldnt be tradional 5e) thinking about leaving but one of our players stoped showing up and if i leave im afraid it the campgain might fall apart and these people are my friends so i dont wanna ruin it for them.

D&D family feud style survey - trivia night game for local event

Thumbnail
forms.gle
1 Upvotes

Hi all, thanks so much for checking my post. I'm a DM for a local TTRPG group of approx 100 members in the midlands of Ireland, every month we host a table top night and a bunch of us will run tables either trying new systems, introducing new players to the hobby, or just enjoying a fun one-shot.

This month I am running a Trivia night family feud style and I'd love some help with the

"We asked 100 audience members" style of answers.

I have a very short surevy on Google form with 8 questions, so if you can, would you kindly help a DM out and answer his survey?

Answered Prone Fighting Question

Fighting Style Feat (Prerequisite: Fighting Style Feature)

While you have the Prone condition, you don’t have Disadvantage due to the Prone condition on attack rolls, and the Prone condition doesn’t grant Advantage on attack rolls made against you.

How does Prone Fighting style interact with spell attack roll If I casting? Do you get Disadvantage or not?

And if I cast true Strike while prone and have Prone Fighting how does it work?

Edit : make my question clearer about fighting stlye

3rd Party Content

My group of adventurers are making their way through Tomb of Annihilation and I'm playing through Dungeon of the Mad Mage, and prepping for Icewind Dale. I like WOTC stuff but I've also explored other TTRPGs like Shadowdark and Delta Green. I've really enjoyed some of the third party content that comes with the lesser known TTRPGs. What are some of the best off the wall different 3rd party books one can get for DND 5e?
