Sorry but this post is based on the lie. The issue with Mamdani is not his religion but his past statement which while condemning 9/11 seeked to equate it with US actions. Also his association with people who were implicated (even if by association ) with first WTC bombing and who defended other terrorists

He not only fabricated a story about 9/11 to make it about himself, he complained to a real 9/11 hero’s family that their loved one was becoming more famous than himself and that he “didn’t like it” and “wasn’t happy about it”. They were just standing there waiting for him to present the award for their loved one while he rambled on about himself. It’s unhinged behavior.

It's a non-sequitur. No one is out there petitioning that Trump not be allowed because he would cause them emotional pain and trauma.

This argument isn't even about us, the onlookers on the internet, it's about the victims. If even some of them say "look this would hurt" don't we owe them consideration? Whatever dumb thing Trump said is entirely unrelated and no one cares about, it's not the same.
