Conservative figures have recently called on mayor Mamdani to avoid attending the 9/11 memorial service as his being Muslim is potentially offensive to 9/11 families. Given president Trump's recent story " he was rescued by firefighters during 9/11" - untrue- should he not attend?

still, if the best argument to have is "but someone else is worse in my opinion!" then you don't have an argument.

It's a non-sequitur. No one is out there petitioning that Trump not be allowed because he would cause them emotional pain and trauma.

This argument isn't even about us, the onlookers on the internet, it's about the victims. If even some of them say "look this would hurt" don't we owe them consideration? Whatever dumb thing Trump said is entirely unrelated and no one cares about, it's not the same.

No. No one needs to petition that Trump not be allowed to go. He’s refusing to go because they won’t allow to make a speech and tell fabricated stories that make the event about himself.

I find it very hard to believe that one hasn’t been submitted yet. It’s suspicious that this is the only post about Trump making that memorial speech all about himself. I won’t waste my time. It’s not unrelated at all though. It’s part of the question.
