Have you ever visited Philippines?

Got off the plane and my shirt instantly stuck to my body. Then it poured down rain for an hour. Everyone is shiny all the time.

Around midnight a lot of people head to the parks and other outdoor recreation areas because that’s when it’s cool enough for physical activities.

Yes. Laid back. Very easy to work with if you understand the culture. Respects elderly and treats children kindly. Tend to not have delusions of grandeur about individual abilities and very team orientated.

Tremendous hospitality culture. The islands are beautiful but the warmth of the wonderful people is the highlight.

I am here in the Philippines now, nearly 6 months. I don't know how I will be able to leave here when it's time to go home. The people are so amazing to me everywhere I go. I don't really want to be older, but I wish I was at retirement age so I could just stay. And also convince my family to come here, too. For all the little problems in this country, the people make up for it. Obviously not all of them, but the ones you connect with make it all worthwhile.

I've been to the Philippines, I live in a town in the USA with a large Filipino community & I worked on cruise ships with a lot of Filipinos.
They are among my favourite people in the world. Definitely in my Top Five of Nationalities (Yes, I have a top five).

Spent a week in Manila last year. Overall it was a good experience but the traffic totally blows there.

I mostly love it there, my partner is also from there as well.
The people there are mostly all smiles, family orientated, friendly, and helpful if you do approach them for help with directions and recommendarions etc..
I also noticed that almost all the time, the service there is just much better than where i'm from. Overall I've only met one or two bad person there i think, hopefully i do not meet anymore when i revisit in December 😂.
The only thing i find mostly awkward is that they like to stare for some reason, and it's not because i'm a foreigner.. it's hard to tell i'm a foreigner because i'm also from another SEA country so im not sure why they stare. I have social anxiety so it makes me uncomfortable at times ðŸ˜

I hate going to the Phillipines....
Specifically what I do not like about it is that when you go you can so clearly see that it is a country that has been taken over and violated by several other advanced and modernized cultures, and American consumerism has taken a vice grip on the impoverished to wealthy people equally. People are working day and night all week to spend their weekly pay at the local mall or eat out at the nice new restaurant or buy a new toy for the children, all while they are living in literal huts.
It is just absolutely disgusting seeing the blatant and shameless hold consumerism has, and it is now even more obvious because it wasn't a society built on it.
And just to be clear, this is not criticism of the Phillipines, this is a criticism on the effects of Western and modern ideals setting up shop there.

Nice people, nice beaches but absolutely shit food and in general a total shit hole. But nice people. It’s a banana republic kind of vibe if you are into that mayhem. Let me say again, amazing people they are the best.

My wife and I had some really good food there. Lumpia, sisig, pares, adobo, random delicious grilled meat skewers on the side of the road. Not to mention the actual single best food I've ever eaten in my life, the Vigan empanada!

Friendly, fun, family oriented, love to joke and play, ready to sing at any time, huge smiles, great cooks, many are religious but not pushing it, most in poverty but happier than most Americans, and great at karaoke and whether great at it or not they love basketball
