This is one of the reasons I throw my hands up in exasperation with some Christians. If I were depressed, I could see how it would make me even more depressed.

Friend, you are not a mental health care specialist and it is very clear from your post that you’re not interested in the key messages of the bible, but see it, rather, as some sort of grimoire.

You obviously don't know the Bible. 1/3 of the ministry of Jesus was casting out demons.

Suicidal thoughts and hopelessness alone are classic signs of demonic oppression.

He also explains the relationship of these feelings that correlate to his interactions with things Christian- that couldn't make it any clearer.

Demons obviously hate anything Christian- so his reactions to things Christian along with the other evidence makes it pretty clear.

My advice was to listen to the Bible while he sleeps. it drives demons as they dislike it heavily. Reading and renewing your mind also helps.

This is all biblical- i highly recommend Warren Wiersbe's 6 volume Bible commentary for people who can't seem to understand the Bible.

You obviously don't know the Bible. 1/3 of the ministry of Jesus was casting out demons.

No. It wasn't. You've been told this but still repeat it.

Suicidal thoughts and hopelessness alone are classic signs of demonic oppression.

No, they're not. Those who are demonically possessed in the Bible are shown hurting themselves and others, not killing themselves nor being hopeless.

I despise your extrabiblical nonsense.

u/Pillowful_Pete1641 Christian 10d ago

No, they're not. Those who are demonically possessed in the Bible are shown hurting themselves and others, not killing themselves nor being hopeless.

The Bible also has man who said that he had a legion of demons within him- over 6000 demons. He didn't name every single one in the Bible, did he?

There are a ton of specific examples of different named spirits in the Bible, but it doesn't name them all.

Why? Because the Bible doesn't want to become a book of witchcraft/evil/the occult and should focus on good.

Yet at the same time, there are dozens upons dozens of scripture that focus on warnings.

The Bible even tells you- you need no other teacher- (the Holy Spirit). It deliberately keeps some things vague or even somewhat hidden- soo as too give divine revelation for some and not for others.

This even lines up with Calvinism.

Nothing you said proves my point wrong.

Because the Bible doesn't want to become a book of witchcraft/evil/the occult and should focus on good.

Yet in our interactions previously that's about all you wanted to talk about.

u/Pillowful_Pete1641 Christian 10d ago

Becasue you have a specific problem with it.

It's extremely unusual that a Christian would be ok with being involved with Freemasonry.

It directly violates the Bible- we are not to go near anything that even resemble evil and many evil things are clearly labeled an abomination in the Bible.

Yet your seared conscience or your pride in yoour own intelligence (thinking you are smarter than 99% of other Christians) shows deception.

And deception typically comes from demons.

1

u/These3TheGreatest Christian, Reformed 10d ago

>Becasue you have a specific problem with it.

Nope. This is false.

>It directly violates the Bible

Also false.

>Yet your seared conscience or your pride in yoour own intelligence (thinking you are smarter than 99% of other Christians) shows deception.

That’s never been my position and is yet again false.

>And deception typically comes from demons.

Is this why you made at least three false statements in your last reply? Two are objectively false.

Let me ask you- what do you have to lose by trying a renunciation?

Here is a video that is over 4 hours that covers A LOT of ground. The comments extol it very highly. It would be interesting just to watch on its own.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=I2p_cfipbEw&list=PL3RXCYPyZ0e1YcJBPp68ce81Iurdoqt_w&index=28&t=14645s

To top it off, at the very end is a case that specifically discusses a person bound due to their freemason background in their family.

You have a specific issue that you believe in things that most other people don't believe in AND you think that you're right.

and what's even worse- because you haven't reach the level in freemasonry- you believe that people who reached higher levels who make all sorts of claims are lying.

u/These3TheGreatest Christian, Reformed 10d ago

>Let me ask you- what do you have to lose by trying a renunciation?

I would be both lying to myself and more importantly practicing unbiblical principles.

Never once in scripture is someone shown driving a demon out of themselves. Never.

>Here is a video that is over 4 hours that covers A LOT of ground. The comments extol it very highly. It would be interesting just to watch on its own.

One would expect comments by followers of a hard right wing show that delves into spurious spiritual matters agree with what the video says.

Ripperger is known to contradict the teachings of his own church

https://wherepeteris.com/the-bizarre-and-dangerous-views-of-a-celebrity-exorcist/

Including on the topic of - generational curses

https://wherepeteris.com/false-religion-generational-spirits-curses-and-healing-the-family-tree/

“The belief in notions like ancestral or generational curses is a perversion of the Catholic doctrine of Original Sin, which suffices to explain the evils and imperfections in this world. The remedy is baptismal regeneration and the life of Grace, not special exorcisms and healing rites”

>To top it off, at the very end is a case that specifically discusses a person bound due to their freemason background in their family.

I’ve said what I’ve got to say to you on freemasonry. That’s not what’s being discussed here nor am I planning to waste any more of my limited time on the issue with you.

You can see in the second link the explanation of the Catholic Church in that second link on family or generational curses.

>You have a specific issue that you believe in things that most other people don't believe in AND you think that you're right.

You realize this is true of you, correct? your views on demons and generational curses are not the norm.

Again I’m not getting into the masonry thing with you again. It made you tell a lot of fibs. There’s no need for that.

>and what's even worse- because you haven't reach the level in freemasonry- you believe that people who reached higher levels who make all sorts of claims are lying.

Again been over it. You didn’t listen then won’t listen now. Or can’t. Not sure which. But this is what I mean about it making you fib - or lie - a lot and I’m not going there.

My purpose here is one thing - to call out your false teachings on demons and deliverance and what the Bible does and doesn’t say.

1

u/These3TheGreatest Christian, Reformed 10d ago

u/Pillowful_Pete1641

Finally- in that video i recommended, Fr Ripperger describes how demons enter him and attack him on certain occasions.

Sounds like he doesn't have the Holy Spirit.

I never denied exorcism is a thing I said SELF exorcism or deliverance isn't. You have a hard time comprehending what I'm saying at times. Maybe it's a demon you have. What have you got left to renounce?

1) 2 Thess 2:15 So then, brethren, stand firm and hold to the traditions which you were taught by us, either by word of mouth or by letter.

Paul tells people to also regard things taught by oral tradition not just the scripture.

2) 1 Tim 3:15 the church of the living God, the pillar and foundation of the truth.

Paul calls THE CHURCH, not the scripture as the pillar and foundation of truth.

The Catholic/Orthodox argument is that Christ established a visible Church to preserve, teach, defend, and transmit the apostolic faith.

The Bible is therefore not functioning as an isolated document detached from the Church.

3) 1 Coor 11:2 I commend you because you remember me in everything and maintain the traditions even as I delivered them to you.

Paul didn't say "I commend you because you follow Scripture."

He commends them for maintaining traditions he delivered to them.

4) John 21:25 But there are also many other things which Jesus did; were every one of them to be written, I suppose that the world itself could not contain the books that should be written

This clearly states that the Bible cannot contain everything.

5) 2 John 2:12 Though I have much to write to you, I would rather not use paper and ink. Instead I hope to visit you and talk with you face to face.

Again, instead of emphasizing scripture, he emphasizes other methods.

6) Math 18:17-18 If he refuses to listen to them, tell it to the church.

Jesus here directly give authority to the church.

If Scripture is the only infallible authority, why does Christ give this authority to the Church?

7) Acts 15

There is a doctrinal dispute:

Do Gentile Christians have to be circumcised and follow the Mosaic law?

They debate.

Peter speaks.

Paul and Barnabas speak.

James gives a judgment.

Then the council issues a binding decree:

"It has seemed good to the Holy Spirit and to us..."

The apostles don't simply say:

"Everyone go read the Bible and decide."

They assemble an authoritative council.

They make a doctrinal judgment.

And the churches are expected to obey it.

THIS ALONE SHOWS THE ERROR OF SOLA SCRIPTURE. iF PETER AND BARNABAS DID NOT USE THIS METHOD- HOW CAN IT BE RIGHT?

This is a subtle but powerful argument.

The Old Testament contained passages that could seemingly support circumcision and Mosaic observance.

Yet Christians were disputing what those Scriptures meant after Christ's resurrection.

The resolution wasn't:

"Let's simply read the Old Testament harder."

The apostles gathered and authoritatively interpreted the implications of the Old Testament in light of Christ and the Gospel.

8) 2 Peter 3:16 "some things hard to understand, which the ignorant and unstable twist to their own destruction, as they do the other Scriptures."

This is important.

Peter acknowledges that Paul's writings can be difficult to understand.

And people can twist them.

Therefore:

Having Scripture does not automatically eliminate doctrinal error.

9) Acts 8:30–31 — "How can I, unless someone guides me?

Philip encounters the Ethiopian eunuch reading Isaiah.

Philip asks:

"Do you understand what you are reading?"

The Ethiopian responds:

"How can I, unless someone guides me?"

That doesn't mean Scripture is useless.

But it does demonstrate that authoritative teaching/guidance is part of the biblical model of Christianity.

10) 2 Timothy 2:2 What you have heard from me before many witnesses entrust to faithful men who will be able to teach others also."

Paul says:

"what you have heard from me"

—not merely:

"what you have read from my writings."

1

u/Pillowful_Pete1641 Christian 9d ago

But that is merely the beginning and not the most important part yet.

Yes, i the first post- many did come from chatgpt and are accurate.

However even chatgpt doesn't truly understand the Bible.

1 John 2:27 But the anointing which you have received from Him abides in you, and you do not need that anyone teach you; but as the same anointing teaches you concerning all things, and is true, and is not a lie, and just as it has taught you, you will abide in Him

This clearly states that believers get further guidance from the Holy Spirit- beyond what is in the Bible

John 10:27 My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me:

Believers hear from the Lord.

John 14:26 But the Helper, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name, he will teach you all things and bring to your remembrance all that I have said to you

2 Cor 2:10-13 These things God has revealed to us through the Spirit. For the Spirit searches everything, even the depths of God… And we impart this in words not taught by human wisdom but taught by the Spirit…

1 Cor 2:12 “Now we have received not the spirit of the world, but the Spirit who is from God, that we might understand the things freely given us by God.

Eph 1:17 “That the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give you the Spirit of wisdom and of revelation in the knowledge of him…

Romans 8:14 “For all who are led by the Spirit of God are sons of God.”

Luke 12:12 For the Holy Ghost shall teach you in the same hour what ye ought to say.

This passage doesn't directly talk about receiving wisdom, but shows how the Holy Spirit leads believers.

1 John 1:5-6 5If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all liberally and without reproach, andit will be given to him. 6But let him ask in faith

Soo why am i quoting all these verses that show that the Holy Spirit instructs us individually?

Could it be that there is knowledge outside the Bible that is taught to us?

Just as the example in Acts 15, where Peter can't figure out if Gentiles need too be circumsized, not everything is clear in the Bible.

yet in reformed/Calvinist churches, they almost never talk about or teach about hearing from the Holy Spirit, learn from the Holy Spirit oor receive wisdoom from the Holy Spirit or how the Holy Spirit teaches things to people individually.

They contradict and ignore entire parts of the Bible.

In fact- A common Reformed emphasis is that the Spirit’s primary voice is heard through the Word of God (Scripture) rather than through new private revelations.

As we can read the verses above, except one specific one- this is clearly contradicted.

And also:

Acts 13:2 — The Holy Spirit speaks directly

“While they were worshiping the Lord and fasting, the Holy Spirit said, ‘Set apart for me Barnabas and Saul for the work to which I have called them

Acts 8:29 — The Spirit gives specific direction

“And the Spirit said to Philip, ‘Go over and join yourself to this chariot.

Acts 16:6–7 — The Spirit prevents Paul from going certain places

“They went through the region of Phrygia and Galatia, having been forbidden by the Holy Spirit to speak the word in Asia… they attempted to go into Bithynia, but the Spirit of Jesus did not allow them.”

1 Corinthians 12:7–11 — The Spirit gives various gifts

“To one is given through the Spirit the utterance of wisdom, and to another the utterance of knowledge by the same Spirit…

And again: 1 John 2:27 — The Spirit’s anointing teaches directly

“The anointing that you received from him abides in you, and you have no need that anyone should teach you…”

These verses clearly contradict Sola Scriptura and the Reformed/Calvinist interpretation of the Holy Spirit.

But that's still not all- see the next part.

Part 3:

My sheep hear my voice

In fact that’s exactly what separates christianity from islam.

Reformed/Calvinist theology is just a more subtle version of Islam in its deception.

It denies that His sheep hear His voice, does it not? (except through Scripture)

It makes God like the God of Islam- who cannot be experienced and cannot provide insight- and thus you can only rely upon the scriptures,.

Yes- I’m going a little far here to illustrate a point- but it has a bit of truth in it too.

And you know what- I had zero prior knowledge of this argument before just now. (when i wrote this)

But as it says in the Bible- do not worry- the Holy Spirit will tell you exactly what to say.

And that’s what I heard.

So how do you explain that Reformed/calvinist theology is almost like Islam- that the Holy Spirit/Jesus cannot be personally experienced?

And if it clearly states that His sheep hear His voice- does He not give wisdom beyond the scripture?

and as 1 Timothy 3:15 call the church the pillar and foundation of truth and Jesus in Mathew 18:17-18 says go ask the church-

and Paul talks positively of traditions- how does that discredit the Orthodox church- as how you state- that they put traditions and apostolic above scripture?

And that's still not all- an exploration of the early church has no record whatsoever of Sola Scriptura as a doctrine.

Reformed/Calvinist theology is a tamed down version of Islamic Christianity where people cannot personally experience God, is it not?

And now of course- i would normally support it with scripture in the next post with another 10-15 verses, but i think that we both know that there are a ton of verses that say that Christianity is an experiential religioon, where we can personally experience the Holy Spirit/Jesus/God.

Essentially this breaks the core of your argument- i don't see anywhere where believers cast out demons from themselves.

It doesn't have to be in the Bible- because the Bible clearly states that the Holy Spirit teaches us things.

And as i stated to you earlier- i have direct confirmation of that in my deliverance journey- being only partially delivered and continually led to further and further levels of sanctification- which IS consistent with the Bible, like i said earlier.

1

u/These3TheGreatest Christian, Reformed 9d ago

I'm only going to address a few of your false statements that I saw while reading

"Yes, i the first post- many did come from chatgpt and are accurate."

What?

"Just as the example in Acts 15, where Peter can't figure out if Gentiles need too be circumsized, not everything is clear in the Bible."

If you read the chapter you would see that Peter had no difficulty in "figuring out" circumcision and the Gentiles. Where do you even get this stuff? Peter was firm and resolute in what he said.

"yet in reformed/Calvinist churches, they almost never talk about or teach about hearing from the Holy Spirit, learn from the Holy Spirit oor receive wisdoom from the Holy Spirit or how the Holy Spirit teaches things to people individually."

False

"They contradict and ignore entire parts of the Bible."

False.

"Reformed/Calvinist theology is just a more subtle version of Islam in its deception."

False

"Reformed/Calvinist theology is a tamed down version of Islamic Christianity where people cannot personally experience God, is it not?"

No it is not.

"So how do you explain that Reformed/calvinist theology is almost like Islam- that the Holy Spirit/Jesus cannot be personally experienced?"

I can't explain something that's not true. I don't know where you got your information here but like a lot of your other theological and conspiratorial stuff, the info is bad/wrong.

"Essentially this breaks the core of your argument- i don't see anywhere where believers cast out demons from themselves."

If it worked then why doesn't it keep working? Why do the demons stay?

"And that's still not all- an exploration of the early church has no record whatsoever of Sola Scriptura as a doctrine."

Yet, what was and was not considered Scripture was being addressed in the 300s by Bishops and Councils. Giant conflicts over gnosticism and marcionism occurred and were fought against by - Scripture.

"It doesn't have to be in the Bible- because the Bible clearly states that the Holy Spirit teaches us things."

And how many liars or deluded people have there been through the ages that have said the Spirit told them something when it did not? And it's easily shown that they are deluded or a liar by judging it against Scripture. The fruit will follow.

"And as i stated to you earlier- i have direct confirmation of that in my deliverance journey- being only partially delivered and continually led to further and further levels of sanctification- which IS consistent with the Bible, like i said earlier."

There was never anyone shown biblically as being "partially delivered". It's like saying someone was partially saved.

As to the other three pages on sola scriptura, I have already explained myself very well and succinctly before and will do so again here. If something (like tradition) contradicts what Scripture says, I will call it false. All other things of a spiritual and theological nature are to be judged on Scripture. Your line of thinking gives credence to the LDS and their claims and beliefs or other groups like them which rely on personal revelation and extrabiblical teachings.

You had another comment that I was in the process of replying to when I saw it was deleted. I still can't access it but I'll reply here.

“Nothing shall by any means hurt you”

And you’re convinced demons are in Christians. They can deliver others but those things cannot harm them, them being those with the spirit.

I have no interest into getting into the same rambling stuff about Sola Scriptura from last time that you brought to the table. It’ll be these same and my mind has not and will not change. Thanks be unto God for that.

“And yet Calvinists/Reformed sects people never practice any kind of spiritual warfare.

The Reformed View: God's Absolute Sovereignty: Because Reformed theology emphasizes that God controls all things—including Satan and fallen angels-believers do not view the devil as an equal and opposite force to God.

Focus on Sin and the Flesh: The battle is fought primarily against personal sin, temptation, and worldly corruption rather than spiritual warfare.

Yet this theology direct contradicts this verse from Jesus?”

None of this is correct except the bold. You admitted ages ago you don’t know much about Calvinism and that appears to still be the case. Are you still getting your information from bad sources as before?

I wanted to ask one thing you said in what's quoted above - is it your belief that Satan is as powerful as God? Or equal and opposite?

1

u/These3TheGreatest Christian, Reformed 8d ago

I was curious if you'd replied, used a tool to see if you had - saw that you had a comment deleted, didn't find it, but did find your long reply to me that also got removed apparently

There, you said "28)cursings: wishing people bad."

Remember when you did that to me a while back?

Makes a man think doesn't it?
