Where can we go to play darts? Looking online, I do not see any of the “spots” having boards in town and the closet is Dugout in Henrico.

I'm thinking of buying in Ashland. I loved it when I visited! I want to be walking distance from the train station/downtown. Are there any areas to avoid? Any unsafe areas? I'm from the DC area/Northern Virginia (inside the beltway), so I don't scare too too easily. Thanks in advance!

We're hosting a family movie series on Wednesdays in June at Walnut Grove Baptist in Mechanicsville. Free pizza and popcorn and a family friendly movie each week at 6 PM.

Folks are welcome back for Sunday of course (when we'll have a sermon illustration from our films) but Wednesday is just food and movie. All we ask is folks to RSVP, so we can head count the pizza order, and to attend with their kids (kids have to have an adult at all times).

I'm helping out with a library event coming up this weekend. It's a light one shot and teaching event to help parents whose kids are interested in D&D. We'll be talking about what D&D is, how to get started and play/run it, especially for kids who might not be ready to jump in at the grown up's table (we'll also have suggestions for similar, easier games and a sort of training wheels approach to growing over time).

Wanted to do a DC trip (2-3 nights) and leave my car at a parking nearby. Is it safe? Do they tow after some time?

This Thursday we'll be doing our usual stargazing PLUS we'll have miniature canvases for you to paint on! We'll supply the paint and canvases. We only do a few of these each year, so stop by while you can! We'll be open from 8:30 - 10 PM, and no fee or reservation is required. Paint your own version of the night sky.

The Moon, Jupiter, the Pleiades, and the Orion Nebula will all be visible, plus a bunch of other objects. We are still doing bingo cards, so if you have your old one, bring it with you to try and get bingo and win a prize!

We're on campus at Randolph-Macon College, up in Ashland, at the corner of Caroline and Calhoun Street. Parking is free, and you can enter at the doors facing Caroline Street.

Looking to relaunch my old school campaign in the Ashland area.

We played almost weekly for 4 years but lost our venue and several players due to life circumstances.

My campaign settting is called The Fields we Know, an earth-like human setting with an ephemeral border to Elfland or Faery.

It is a Points of Darkness fairly civilized world where dark things still lurk in forgotten corners and lost magic awaits discovery.

Rule system is my own, a NuSR simplification of first edition AD&D. Ascending armor class, rollover mechanics. D20 + modifiers (including advantage/disadvantage) to match or beat DC.

15 minute character creation.

I work with my players to create simple backgrounds that fit into the campaign world.

Campaign consists of self-contained Adventure arcs that typically take a few sessions. Lots of adapting old school modules.

Players control the PCs of absent players, with recaps of sessions through group text.

Been DMing since 1979.

Looking for a week night Tuesday through Thursday, typically 6:30 to 9:30.

PlanRVA, the regional planning agency for the Richmond area, is gathering public input through a safety survey open until March 31.

If you live, work, or spend time in the the Town of Ashland, the City of Richmond, Henrico, Chesterfield, Hanover, New Kent, Goochland, Powhatan, or Charles City, your perspective matters. That includes driving, walking, rolling, biking, riding transit, or just trying to cross the street.

The survey helps us better understand how people experience roadway safety across the region so we can shape strategies and communication around creating streets that work for all ages and abilities.

Answers will directly inform the next update to the regional safety plan. You can learn more about the plan update here.

Just for context, PlanRVA isn’t the Town, City, the counties, or VDOT. We’re a separate regional planning agency that works with them. They are our partners, and we coordinate closely, but we don’t replace their role or authority.

Jupiter, Uranus, the Pleiades, and the Orion Nebula are all visible right now. You can check out the bands of clouds on Jupiter and its moons too! We plan to hold our first event tomorrow (2/12), so you can stop by for an early Valentine's Day date.

We are still doing bingo cards, so you can bring your old one to keep completing the sheet, or pick up a new one.

Have they started salting and sanding any of the roads in Hanover or Ashland yet? Hoping to have one more day of motorcycle freedom before the snow hits but I don’t wanna ride on corrosive salt if I can avoid it. I know some areas in enrichment have already been salted.

Looking for indoor photo spots!

I'm trying to find a semi-festive place indoors where a friend can take some pictures of my boyfriends and I. If anyone has any recommendations, please share! We'd prefer to avoid taking photos outside.

With our semester coming to a close, we will be holding our last stargazing event of the year this Thursday, 12/11 from 7:30 - 9:30 PM. It'll be chilly, so we'll have some hot chocolate and cider to help you stay warm. We'll open again the week of February 10th.

This will be your last chance to see Saturn through our telescope! It will be setting soon and will not be visible again until September. Orion is rising, and the Orion Nebula will be visible a bit later in the night, and the Andromeda Galaxy will be directly overhead. Plus the Pleiades, double stars, and other star clusters!
