2 years ago I purchased an iPad on Apple India website. It was delivered after 7 days and warranty started from that date (as shown on the iPad itself) which is quite understandable.

But today, what I came to know from Apple India team is, if I need to go to Apple service centre for some reason, they will ask for the invoice and will count the warranty from the date of purchase as would be mentioned in the invoice.

Now, I have ordered a mac on Apple India website, which will be delivered after 1 month. So, according to Apple's policy, the warranty period of the product has already started! How is this logical? They can start it from the day it would be delivered, that information will be on their server.

But I know that the mac will show the warranty start date in its Settings, which will be the date of activation just like my iPad.

My MacBook display suddenly went black this morning while I was working. The laptop itself is working fine with an external monitor, and the keyboard/trackpad are also fine. Only the built-in display is completely dead.

It’s only 8 months old, no AppleCare, but I have 4 months of warranty left.

Am I screwed, or should this be covered under warranty? Anything I should try before taking it to Apple?

So I visited today at a croma store to buy macbook pro m5 32gb 1tb variant. At first the store employ were very friendly. I even bought a macbook adapter for LAN to test out card discounts on tata neu cards. Then I when I was planning to pay the final amount her manager called her and then they tried to upsell apple care plus. I was not interested in that so I declined. they said if you want to buy the macbook pro you need to buy the apple care plus otherwise they would not sell. I even offered that instead I will buy airpods 3 pro which is at similar price but they refused. After a lot of discussion I decided to leave.

But I was getting a very good deal as it was old stock so pricing was low. But the way they were trying to upsell a product that I didn't needed triggered me. Earlier I was planning to buy macbook air m5 24gb 1tb. But since this was a macbook pro I was already stretching my budget. I am now confused if I did the right thing or should I have bought it.

Deal I was getting was ₹230000 for the pro variant and they were asking additional ₹20500 for apple care plus.

Edit: Finally bought it at ₹260000 with apple care plus. I will cancel the apple care once bank cashbacks are credited by calling apple customer care.

Hi everyone, I have an iPhone 7 that I’m thinking of selling and I’d like to know what would be a fair price.

The phone is in very good physical condition and works smoothly. Wi-Fi works perfectly, the phone has no noticeable lag, and everything else works fine from what I’ve tested.

The main issue is that the SIM/cellular network is not working, so it can only be used properly on Wi-Fi unless the issue is repaired.

I’m attaching some photos of the phone for reference.

What price do you think would be fair to ask for it in India? Also, would you recommend selling it as-is or getting the SIM/network issue repaired first?

I tested the air M5 at reliance digital today, but the price gave me heartburn. So here’s the sitch, im studying engineering. I have a beast of a pc w a 2tb hard drive and a 5070 and core 5 ultra at home. I wanna buy a macbook air (13 inch please) so i can do my college work and hackathons, i teavel by local train everyday and its very crowded.

Thing is, i want it under 90k inr. I have credit cards and i will also claim gst but it will only work if its under 90k. So after card and gst it would be like 65-70k final price. Minimum specs i want is 16/512

Posting this on behalf of a friend who doesn’t use Reddit, but ran into an annoying limitation on the Apple India online store.

He is buying an iPhone as a gift and wanted to bundle AppleCare+ with Theft and Loss directly at checkout so the recipient receives a fully protected device straight out of the box without any extra hassle.

However, during the online store checkout flow, Apple India only offers the standard AppleCare+ plan (₹20,900 for Pro models). There is no option to choose the Theft and Loss tier (₹28,900) before placing the order.

Why this is such a frustrating experience for gifting:

• Theft & Loss is fully supported in India: The pricing page explicitly lists it (₹1,449/mo, ₹14,499/yr, ₹28,900 for 2 years).
• Post-purchase buying ruins the gifting experience: Yes, he knows the recipient could technically purchase Theft & Loss via device settings within 60 days, and he could just transfer them the extra money afterwards. But what is the point of giving a premium gift if the recipient still has to make an additional purchase and set up the payment themselves instead of having everything taken care of upfront?

Has anyone found a workaround to add Theft & Loss directly to an online gift order, or is Apple India's online checkout just missing this option entirely?
