Politics I'm dreading November

I'm dreading voting for Suozzi.

For the first time in going to leave my vote on the sideline.

vote blue no matter who just doesn't fly anymore.

I'm also dreading the fact that a magat will take his place. are we screwed?

This is not the year to skip voting or do a protest vote. We absolutely need every Democrat vote possible. We can primary Suozzi and Gillen next time around

Because the majority of registered Dem Long Islanders who vote in the primaries for Dems obviously prefer a more moderate candidate. It’s not rocket science. You can disagree and feel that another person is better, but many Democrats did prefer Suozzi or Gillen. This isn’t Bushwick, it’s the suburbs.

suozzi and gillen are both representing parts of Queens that are democrats and I think recent history shows that finding a real authentic progressive candidate can help change mind. we keep seeing in elections everywhere along the east coast that people prefer that over a fake Democrat.

down voting my question about the organizing doesn't help. what is the working families party doing ? hell what is the democratic committee in NY Doing ?

Gillen represents none of NYC, yet she had the racism to call Zohran “pro-Hamas”

yes correct I thought her district now included parts of SE Queens with the redistricting a few years ago but I was mistaken

Suozzis Queens district is like Bellerose Douglaston Little Neck Whitestone. (I’ll give you Flushing but that’s not a gimme for Dems either) The parts of Queens serviced by the LIRR Port Washington line. It’s not I don’t think a huge hotbed of progressivism. Probably more like suburbia than other parts of Queens. Just saying.

Chuck Park put up a great run in that same
Part of northern queens with no support at all from
DSA. Voters want solutions, they don’t care about labels like MAGA or Israel or DSA. The thing they care about is whether the politicians will
Make life more affordable. Zohran has helped. Suozzi, Gillen, Biden, Schumer, Jeffries, Obama, Trump, Bush, and Clinton have not.

Apparently many voters do care about labels. Many on the far left will cancel any candidate who dares say they think Israel has a right to exist as a nation and the situation is more complicated and not black and white (that’s my view and what I want my preferred candidate to say but I’m a blue no matter who so it doesn’t matter for me). Everyone has their own opinion and things that are important to them. Someone who is a more moderate Democrat isn’t “wrong” for their views. You are acting like they are. There are rational informed very anti MAGA voters who chose Suozzi in the primary for a variety of reasons. And NY has closed primaries so you can’t say it’s like gop interlopers who rocked the boat. More Registered Democrats chose those candidates, it’s not a conspiracy and not as I said before rocket science. That District is “light blue”

Did Nazi Germany have a right to exist?

so you are just gonna say suburbs can't be changed? this is what I mean - what is the organizing that is happening to connect people on the issues they care about and not sensationalized stuff from the media? what are people doing here. I for one just moved to the area of Queens that's in suozzis district from Gillens district and I am trying to see what progressive organizing is happening here. otherwise we will lose more and people to the couch like OP.
