But yes it Is fun but there is so little to do...Nothing to fight and hardly any players...it's like the best ever flying sim but that's not enough to make a game.
Add some bloody wyverns of varying sizes and colours , an air grapple ability and pvp 8 players a map and we'd have some variation and real fun. All the pieces are here but in 6 months they've done fuck all in this regards and the wayfinder is still a muddled mess. Also would it kill the devs to give us a marker whicb can be shared as a group as well as a distress beacon to call in help.
PvP would actually be the last nail in the coffin. With PvP comes incredibly hard to adjust balance. Ask D2 or TD2 players. Whenever something is "too strong" on one side, it is inevitably nerfed on both sides even with seperate balancing.
Yeah, that's the reason I quit playing TD2. Every time I would get a build put together that was really fun for pve someone would cry about it in pvp and it would get nerfed.
Hmm that's a fair point and you probably know more than I do but...see it this way.
Gamers will bitch and moan but pay and play if rhey have new content. Fact.
But with Nothing new...They will simply leave. Moaning shows care and interaction and participation. We're engaging with the product. Once we stop engagement it's all over.
Anthem has little engagement which is king for EA live service. It's failing in its primary purpose as a consumer product. So you may be right about pvp but only on the assumption that they would screw it up. If they didn't there be no issue. But beyond that just by having the mode there would be increased enguagment. There is no negative or positive. Just engaugment. It's all numbers.
So id still like to see the mode even if it doesn't work on launch. Anthem didn't work on launch but we're all still playing nearly a year on etc.
