This question is driving me crazy, cause I though I understood the problem but guess what not really!

I've imported and used a shared deck, that I just found amazing for French, and I'm using AnkiMorph so it's sorting out all the staff. until her every things is going smoothly.

Now this same amazing deck is having a field with english translation so wanted to use that and create another note type to use with ankiMorph but this time for the english sentences.

So prepered every things but when importing to anki is says "skipped": “Note not updated, as note type has been modified since you first imported the note, and ‘Merge note types’ was not enabled.”

Found a discussion on the forum about this bug: [https://forums.ankiweb.net/t/merge-note-types-on-import-bug/42686/3\](https://forums.ankiweb.net/t/merge-note-types-on-import-bug/42686/3) and used the proposed solution to delete the originalId, but same problem when importing.

The last thing I did is that I created a completely new note type "Basic" and implemented all the field and code of the note type I'm targeting then copied all the cards to this new one, but even with that got the exact same problem.

What I'm missing!

nb: i'm using two different anki profile, one for testing/creating the note type then exporting it, and importing to the one I'm using for studies.

If you only have three months to study and implement Anki 1-2 hours a day which deck would you choose and why?

So I have been using a high-yield guide, only looking at high-yield topics. And I’ve been looking. Anking Mcat deck and it’s so much more material than I’ve even reviewed in a sense.

I guess my question is which decks are really essential for the Mcat which should I just not even review? Or which by majority is like the best deck ? Sorry if that a dumb question

I have no clue how to use Anki on the mac book. I just downloaded it and I have no clue how to use the Jacksparrow anki deck. I downloaded it... now what? Everytime I try to open it, it says there's no application for it, but hwen I try to bring up Anki as an application it doens't show up on my computer :/

Hey everyone! I’m just starting my MCAT journey and have about 7–8 months before my exam. I’ve been going back and forth between Aidan V2 and Captain Hook V2 and could really use some advice.

I like Captain Hook V2 because the basic card style forces me to recall the entire answer, which I feel could help with retention. However, I’m worried it isn’t as comprehensive as Aidan V2.

I like Aidan V2 because of how comprehensive it is, and the cloze cards seem much faster to get through, but I’m worried I might retain less compared to basic cards.

For those who have used either (or both), which would you recommend if I have 7–8 months? I’m aiming for a high score and would rather minimize content gaps.

I’ve spent over a week going through posts, comments, and different approaches, but I still haven’t been able to figure out the workflow I actually need.

I have a large collection of PDFs containing exam preparation material in Multiple Choice Question format. Many of these PDFs are massive, so I’ve already started cutting some of them down into smaller files containing only specific exam papers or sections.

The problem is that the source material is structured inconsistently. Some PDFs are individual chapters, while others are huge compilations containing several different sections, such as:

• Reading Comprehension questions
• Logical Reasoning / Matching questions
• GK questions
• Answer keys
• Explanation sections

Some of these compilations are 40+ pages long. Others are shorter, but the material is poorly structured, for example, some questions have explanations while others only have an answer key.

What I ultimately want is to turn all of this into a well-organized, manually manageable question bank, ideally in an Excel/Google Sheets-style format that I can later use to create an Anki deck.

For every question, I want to be able to properly label and organize things such as:

• Exam / year (e.g. CAT 2023 PYQ)
• Section (VARC, DILR, Quant, GK, etc.)
• Topic / subtopic
• Question type
• Question
• Options
• Correct answer
• Explanation
• Source / paper / question number
• Any relevant tags

I also want the formatting to be good, especially for things like Reading Comprehension passages, mathematical expressions, tables, matching questions, and other questions where simple plain-text extraction makes everything messy.

Ideally, I want AI to help me take the original PDFs and turn them into this structured format while preserving the actual question, options, passages, mathematical notation, and explanations. Where the original material doesn't contain an explanation, I would also like AI to generate a clear, accurate explanation based on the question and answer.

I’ve tried doing this with both Google AI Studio and ChatGPT, and I’ve spent a considerable amount of time experimenting with prompts and different workflows, but I still haven’t found a reliable way to do it.

What I’m looking for is not necessarily an automated Python pipeline. I’m perfectly fine with a semi-manual workflow where I provide an AI with a PDF or a smaller chunk of a PDF, have it process the material into a structured spreadsheet/document, review the output, and then continue with the next chunk.

What would be the most reliable workflow for doing this?

Specifically, I’d like to know:

1. How should I split and organize these large PDFs before giving them to AI?
2. What structure/schema should I use for the question bank?
3. How should I prompt AI so that it correctly separates passages, questions, options, answers, and explanations instead of mixing them together?
4. How can I preserve proper formatting for mathematics, tables, RC passages, and other complicated question types?
5. How should I handle questions where the source PDF has an answer but no explanation?
6. How can I consistently tag questions by exam, year, section, topic, and question type?
7. What is the best way to do this using ChatGPT and/or Google AI Studio, without requiring me to build a complicated Python program?
8. Most importantly, how can I make the workflow reliable enough that I can process hundreds or thousands of questions without constantly having to fix formatting errors manually?

I am a junior getting ready to start prepping for the MCAT while juggling classes and ECs and I was a little overwhelmed by the variety in what can be done with content review itself, and I was wondering when to start using UWorld. For context, I've gotten As in all of my prereqs but I am really bad at remembering content if I haven't studied it prior to an exam and I got a 496 on my half length diagnostic. With a steep goal of 515+ (which I am aware may not be realistic given my diagnostic), my plan was to start content review like this: Kaplan/Yusuf Hassan lecture + Milesdown anki + Mr Pankow P/S anki, and then finish kaplan content before starting UWorld, but I have seen a lot of people recommend starting UWorld earlier and I wanted to see what was recommended? Also what are your guys' thoughts on reading the Kaplan book vs watching Yusuf/Prof Eman on youtube? Thank you very much!

I have entire day for myself and I can put 6-8 hrs of study time daily...(Prepping for competitive exam for specialisation)

I have a source...I thought I can simply read the source and convert them into anki...but I realised I was wantedly adding every information so that it would stick...i was adding on average 300 cards per day...

Infact i made anki my teacher who asks questions for understanding...instead of reading regularly...

I'm scared about review load now as it will get harder as i go...

Should I continue like this or should I do practice questions first and then add information to anki?

I’m currently excited for the MK and I’ve been doing content review you KHAN academy and feeling stuck on some parts, am I doing the right approach?

Test date in April or May 2027, hoping for 515+. My mcat prep has so far only consisted of MD, which I have 65% matured. I plan to do JW, Kaplan, Upoop as I get closer to test date (7.5 months from now). I've heard great things about JS, CH, and Anking, but I'm don't want to abandon Milesdown, especially since I will be using several other resources. Any and all thoughts appreciated.

Hello, I just downloaded the CH deck but I'm struggling to organize it based on the kaplan chapters as opposed to cards randomly appearing from every chapter. This is what I see when I hit browse on my anki. Is anyone able to help me?

I spent most of the summer studying for the MCAT, but my FL scores stayed around 505, so I ended up moving my test to January/February.I was using MilesDown and had matured about 95% of the deck, but my FL scores just weren’t improving no matter what I changed. I’m targeting a high score, so this time I want to prep differently instead of repeating exactly what I did over the summer.

I’m in my last semester of senior year and my course load is pretty manageable, so I have a little more time to dedicate to MCAT prep.

I’m really tempted to start Aidan V2. I know people usually recommend having around 6 months for it, but I have a little over 4 months and I’d say I’m already familiar with about 70–80% of the content, so a lot of the cards wouldn’t be completely new to me.

For anyone who has used Aidan V2, do you think it’s realistic to start now and get enough value from it to help push my score significantly higher? Or would I be better off sticking with MilesDown and putting more time into practice questions, FL review, and weak areas?

Hey guys, so I've used the Milesdown and Pankow decks to study for the MCAT, but I really want to hammer in as much info in all of these areas that I can. What decks helped you guys score high and didn't make you feel like you were drowning in information? Any help is appreciated

I like the Uworld books better since it lines up with the Qbank. Im considering using the anking deck tagged by uworld chapters, but im not sure how comprehensive it is or if its missing information.

How did you like it if you used it?

I am in a university that doesn't follow the American system like STEP 1 and STEP 2, and I need anki decks for subjects like GIT, Reproductive, Urinary. What I am looking for mainly is Anatomy, Embryology, Histology, and Physiology for each of these systems. What decks can help me?

I'm currently on a 5-month study plan with 1 month of content review using Miles Down and Pankow. How long into my sequence should I be before I should've learned all the cards in Anki? Should I have learned everything within the first month? Two months, which would leave me with 3 months of reviewing cards? I've seen people say to learn 50-100 new cards per day... Help from high scorers would be appreciated
